This is so cute!! I got a slow-mo video of flora and Ernie doing some flying the other day and it was really cute 💚 I hope you've been well, sorry if I'm behind on replying to any of your comments/messages, I've been moving house so I'm really behind on lots of things 😅
Oh, no need to apologize! 😁 Real life is more important than the internet 🌸 I'm sure there are replies from you, that RUclips missed to notify me about. Everything is well 😁 Happy to hear you moved👍Awww, I'd love to see kakarikis flying in slow motion!! I have tried to slow-mo record my birds flying but they fly so fast I haven't been able to capture them yet 😆 but I can imagine it must look amazing!!
@@CheekyKakariki thank you for understanding 🥰 glad you and all your birdies are ok! The slow motion videos are super cute, I must put some up so you can see 😁 And thank you- I did move ok in the end- but my kakarikis caused SO much damage to the old house 😱 money was spent clearing up their destruction haha 😅
@@sleepybubbi9638 Oh my, I'm glad I scrolled through the comment section or else I wouldn't have seen your reply!! RUclips what are you doing? 😫 Anyways, Yes! Whenever you feel like it I'd love to see some of your videos!! 🥰 Oh no! Your kakarikis are naughty little fluffballs too then 😆 I feel your pain. I just repaired my wallpaper in the kitchen and then one morning I am greeted with a huge chunk of wallpaper ripped off straight from the wall and chewed into confetti! 🤨 I always try to bird proof my home, but sometimes it's not possible.
@@CheekyKakariki They are so naughty!! I had to spend so much time repainting and repairing and tidying 😅 The worst thing I find is when they chew book covers- Oscar has destroyed so many spines and covers of my books, that is what bugs me the most! I'm a massive bookworm and love reading through books, I like to donate books to charity shops after I've read them, but if the birds have taken a chunk out of the cover I can't donate them on 😱 How are all of your birdies these days?!
Thank you for your question! 😊 Kakariki males have a bigger and wider beak and a little bigger feet and body than the females. Also, if you hear a kakariki making whining noises and repetitive sounds that sounds similar to a hen (while bending the body forward) then it's female wanting to mate ☺️ so, it can be difficult to know if a kakariki is a boy or a girl before they reach maturity.
@@Unknown.xx00 Hello I'm sorry for my late reply!!! (RUclips don't always notify me when I recieve replies!) Oh, I'm happy your bird successfully laid an egg! 😁👍 I am not entirely sure why they sometimes eat their eggs. But I would guess it's a survival instinct. My guess is that 1. The bird want to eat the eggs to get the nutricoius vitamins. 2. The bird eat the eggs to stay safe from predators. These are my guesses but I wouldn't worry too much about it 😁 you can buy egg shell calcium mix for birds and mix a teaspoon with it into your birds regular food, in case the egg eating is a sign of vitamin deficiency.
Sorry to hear, but don't worry! Kakarikis are very difficult to train and they don't play with toys that much. Since your bird is angry, he or she could be hormonal. (It's a natural behaviour) If your bird is a boy he might want a girlfriend. But if you can't do that, I'd recommend you to have a look at one of my other video's on how to make your kakarikis happy 😁
@@CheekyKakariki yes he is a male and I know about there hormones, but he was 1 year old in April and was told once they reach 1 they should calm down.
First he was the birbinator now he is a scary sounding giant Kakariki he has great acting skills
You think this is scary? Just wait for the sequel! 🤣 This was just the beginning. (Dramatic music) Dun dun DUUUUUN!! 👀
@@CheekyKakariki looking forward to seeing it lol
Now just put down some monopoly real estate and he can be a Kakariki on the rampage 😆
That's very tempting! 😆
