Great trip, thanks Noel! FYI, I flew Norse in October, JFK-LGW and OSL-JFK, and it was stunning value. I was in the premium cabin both ways. The Dreamliners are very new (ex Norwegian I think?) and the seats are absolutely enormous ... much closer to business class than premium in size (not flatbed but major recline nonetheless). I only paid about $700 rt inc baggage fees for the multi trip. Cheers!
Morocco is 1/3 green plains ( annually in tangier it rains more than in London ) , 1/3 mountain , 1/3 semi arid o desert . In Morocco, during the same day, you can wake up in the desert dunes, ski in the afternoon on the Atlas mountains and swim on the beach watching the sunset in the evening
As an airline insider, I'd recommend trying premium classes' food off the airline base, not departing from a destination city... Maybe the same cabin out of Casablanca has better food. However, regardless of the product, this is not a business class service... quite shocking.
Noel,. I have flown on Norse airways from fort Lauderdale to Oslo just before the summer came. I enjoyed the flight tremendously. You have to pay for everything that you want of course, since their lowest tickets only cost me about, $400 round trip. The only extras I paid for, was an assigned seat, and one overhead bag. The personal item my case with my laptop in tablet was free. On the return trip from Oslo to fort Lauderdale, no one was in the exit row. So I was able to grab seats there, after the plane reached altitude.
I agree. I traveled that route from JFK many times. Service in business class is disappointing. It sad that the seat is not bad. They could do better in the selection of TV shows. Also they just throw the food to you. They don’t set the table for you. I feel they rush everything. They can’t wait to turn the light off for everyone to sleep so they can be not bothered. Great video. Hope they see that and improve their service
Regarding escalator at the gate - there should be a lift or something, espiecally for those with physical disabilties or those a little in-firm on their feet. Generally taking any kind of luggage down an escalotor is discouraged
Royal Air Morocco really reminded you that we're all just peasants. It seems they didn't make up the lack of amenities and culinary esthetics with good service either. I would have been very depressed, because I can forgive a lot of there's great service.
Noel you absolutely should fly with Norde. If they have dreamliners and are set as low cost, I’d go on them 100%, also you should go to Lebanon or Egypt again
Northern Morocco is green, the south is desert, the same with many North African countries, including Tunisia. Morocco has some beautiful airports, you should have a look at Marrakech. The taxi drivers at Tunis airport are ruthless, the worst thing you can do is engage with them in any way unless you're telling them you will use their services ONLY if they use the meter! I had two of them fighting over me when I was there a few weeks ago, I almost had to physically separate them!
There is 2 Morocco. The Morocco west of the atlas mountains, very green and also where the vast majority live ans there is the second Morocco behind the atlas mountains, it's where you fine arid, rocky and desert landscape.
Rolling the dice on eating fish on a plane. If Leslie Neilson taught us anything as Dr. Rumack in the movie Airplane, when provided the option between fish or beef, always choose the lasagna. That was a documentary right?
Flew RAM from Montreal Mirabel back in the late 90s. Similar situation transferring from Dorval to Mirabel but we did it by bus. Checkin was with Air France and a bit of a schmoz as we were in a group that was all over the aircraft, which was an MD11. Personal hygiene was an issue, and a few of us traded boarding passes to build a bit of an enclave. Flight stopped in at JFK en route, and we all had to exit the aircraft after an hour in the air. Arrival next morning was just as beautiful. Sunny morning and trees loaded with clementines. On the way home connecting from Agidir, we rebelled and got off at JFK, then transferred to an Air Canada flight from LaGuardia to Toronto. Saved us about 8 hours of travel time. Looks like food hasn't improved, and there were single serve bottles of wine. One kind only and when it was good it was good and when it wasn't it wasn't. Was a crap shoot. Look at the memories... glad we went. Thanks for sharing this trip, Noel.
4:11 got a JFK to Gatwick direct round trip for $304 US booked for March 09 2024 - 03/23. I thought I booked the deal of the Century but I can book it today for $333. Modern airfare is absolutely incredible. I usually get moved upfront because I have mobility issues so I just take what I'm given. I'll post my review of Norse here, although antidotal it'll be my experience.
Noel, The train from Newark to JFK is only 1 hour via subway. You take the AirTrain from JFK Airport to Jamaica stop to transfer to the subway to JFK. The helicopter was a nice ride but for an extra $200 plus your expensive flights was very costly. Those business seats seemed to close together. Service didn't seem 100% great. Hopefully, you're updated on all your vaccines. Africa requires tons for travel.
I always wondered what Royal Air Maroc was like. Now I know and don't think I'll bother. Such a shame as Africa air travel is really competitive. Thanks for sharing, Noel.
Great reviews. Never went better class, but now will get upgrades whenever possible. Life is too short to worry about spending a bit more for a more comfortable long haul flight.
Having flown the same flight to CMB then onto APG. The first flight was completely different then what happened on yours. The crew didn’t smile when we boarded but once we got airborne the crew was happy, all plastic wrap was off the food and it was excellent. The lounge was ok. Our flight to APG was on a 738, a very comfortable 1hr and 5 mins with dinner, again was excellent. Sorry you had an issues. Now, on our return trip we were in BA. Enough said.
It’s just a bad airline. I have a friend of mine that paid an extra to get a specific sit on one of their flight and at the end they put her between 2 person on a 3 sit block or idk how you call it and she didn’t even get a refund so I mean first there’s no service and if there is its just bad and the company don’t even consider you and respect you as a client.
Seems like you need the app lounge buddy, which I have used for years. Easy pop up on which lounges you have access for through Priority Pass, Business class, and other lounges you have purchased. Great video as always!
When I was searching for flight from Chiago to Europe (with connections) I ran across some that were like this but decided that it was too much hassle (the layover times were like 3 hours but anyone who knows NYC knows that it might take you 1-2 hours just to get through traffic if you use a car of some sort (Uber/Taxi or you drive your own). Public transport may be a bit faster and probably the best option (as I think there are trains that go into NYC from the airport and then you can get another train to get to JFK -- not necessarily their metro but "regular" passenger trains like the Metra system in Chicago). 45 min even on a busy day at an airport to get through security isnt that bad. That being said, in most cases I can get through within 30 minutes on average, and I think the fastest through security was like 5 minutes but that was at a regional airport in Wyoming. But even my international flight to Switzerland 15 years ago I was through security and at the gate within 45 minutes of being dropped off. But this is why people should really arrive 3 hours before hand just in case. The loo review portion makes me think that perhaps people might want to start bringing their own shoe covers (the thing they wear in hospitals for example). Something disposable.
The detour via Spain to Tunisia is because Algeria has closed its borders with Morocco and they are also not allowed to fly over Algeria. Political things hence the diversion
I think you should have scheduled a day or two to visit Casablanca and enjoy some Moroccan food, I agree with you that food on planes is what it is...looking forward seeing you visiting some Moroccan cities via 737-8 from Casablanca towards Dakhla south and enjoying fish and octopus dishes there...all in all, a good review of RAM and they still have more to do to be great.
You may have missed the video, but Noel has actually been in Dakhla. He loved the place, quiet and eerie, almost but not quite a ghost town. He may have forgotten that it was Moroccan (at least "de facto"). I don't remember how Noel got there, though, and I can't locate the video. It was several years ago.
I see Tunis airport hasn't changed at all. My wife on an Aussie passport had her passport taken and past around the airport as no one at immigration seemed to know what the tourist visa rules were (90 day visa exempt). The airport staff were just rude and continued to shout in Arabic. I ended up losing my temper and shouted back. Did the trick, they handed her passport back and waived her thru.
Hi Noel! Fan from NJ here! Hope you enjoyed your short time at EWR! It's not a great airport but it's our not great airport and we're proud of it! #NJStrong
RAM had years of bad management, only now joined One World and still have no good catering partners. As for the staff, they are already in a bad mood because Moroccans living in the US and Europe treat them badly. They did not realise that with good service you can forgive the rest and show expats it is them who have not moved on. I recommend coming back and fly RAM domestically, totally different atmosphere. Fly in with Ryan Air or something exotic perhaps to Marrakech, take a RAM to Oujda in the North or even more exciting, a flight to Dakhla, a Saharan port city next to Mauretania.
I don't know about Moroccans living abroad treating the staff badly, I have no idea how that goes. However, RAM was for a long time a typical state owned company, which meant that the tenured staff was extremely entitled and near impossible to sack, which in turn meant impunity for not doing their jobs. Not only this reputation will follow the brand for decades, at least domestically, but the company's culture is STILL to this day not over it, as evidenced by uneven quality, costumer experience and costumer service.
@@onikamaraj1239most Moroccans in America or Canada, sometimes feel arrogant towards the RAM staff, especially if there was a breakdown or something else, at the same time when Moroccans travel with other companies for example American airline or canada air line, even if there was a breakdown or a delay he cannot protest and put himself in a position where sometimes the police reacted, they made a big scandal in Quebec previous year, so when the police and the forces of order intercepted their protest they calmed the game.......the Moroccan does not understand that the plane is a machine which can be due to several problems either on the ground or when taking off, for him it. just need to travel immediately
I flew RAM in 2021, my daughter was sick and vomited on the flight I asked the flight attendant for soda so she can get some energy back, the flight attendant told me that soda was for first class passengers only. They didn't even have a blanket to cover her because she was chilled....bad experience.
the thing is that RAM's fares are not even cheap in biz. You can often get similar fares on better airlines such as AF or LH and AC has also a seasonal service to CMN
Norse airlines are just a reboot for Norwegian airlines that stopped flying long haul a few years ago, they use the same planes with the same seats and even have the same upper management.

@@schalitz1 Those are unbeatable fares today. Back in early Feb I booked a roundtrip Frenchbee ticket from Paris to Newark three days out and didn't even break 600 bucks.
Only had bad experiences with this airline. Broken bags, drilled out tisa lock. They don’t fix or replace days, they don’t respond to emails. Refuse to help if you go to their office. Will avoid at all cost.
I am constantly amazed by airlines that forget that passengers have absolutely nothing to do on board except eat, sleep, and entertain themselves. Your food should be the best possible, not whatever you could get slopped together for a couple of quid. The on board entertainment should be memorable, not forgettable. Being comfortable enough (even in economy) to get some sleep is pretty key too. It's entirely shocking to see how RaM seems to get it wrong. Compared to many, their 787 cabin looks really nice. They have the "good" J class seating, and probably the prefered 1 2 1 arrangement. They should be awesome, but the food looks decidedly plain. Chalk that up to an airline nickel and diming it, I know the catering company that did the food out of JFK and they cana do make much better than that.
It’s a really bad airlines and for a business class you’re just paying an extra for a nicer sit cause there’s literally no service and the food even Ryanair has better meals than ram business class it’s just a shame.
I hope the airport at Tunis has improved since the 1980s when I passed through there. It was a big shed like construction then and smelt of sweaty bodies !
Another interesting way across the Atlantic is Montreal-Algiers with Air Algerie, I would love to see a review of that. My dad is a member of RAM's FF program, but he last flew them maybe 14 years ago. They still send him emails! He was always very impressed at their B737 Business Class.
it's not perfect, it would be absolutely outrageous for him to pay for hotel transfer that's an hour late. Especially for Mariott. They should have given him more than that imo
Would love to see you fly Norse. I took them back in October from JFK to OSL, then back from OSL to JFK with a stopover at gatwick. It was decent, but a carbon copy of Norwegian. I am really enjoying the “resurrection” of low cost long haul airlines and would love to see more on your channel. For me personally having the better seat for less money is the most important thing. I could care less about the service/amenities, I just want to be comfortable for the many hours in air. I also just took Zipair from LAX to Tokyo narita. Now that would be an interesting airline for you to try.
What makes me laugh about your reviews is you fly business class which actually doesn't reflect if any airline is good or bad and most normal people couldn't afford this type of ticket
I did some work in Western Africa a few years ago and the only reasonable flights to and fro were from RAM. It was always an adventure. The crew can feel a bit odd at times. Whatever you do, don`t fly economy with RAM. You may be traumatized. lol
It's nice to live life vicariously through others like watching Noel take flights on planes to places I will never go to, eat food i'll never eat... Africa is a continent I will NEVER go to... just like I will never go to NYC...
NYC is a cesspool and I hate large cities... there is nothing that interests me in the slightest about NYC, nothing I would want to see, do or eat... as for Africa exactly the same, nothing there interests me... you could not pay me to go there
I am Moroccan residing in the USA since the 80s, used RAM hundreds of time mostly because they were the most direct flights, I had to say the service level declined over the years to the point that I detest flying RAM. I had to say that these days, they have lost my business permanently, with the exception when I used them as a flying partner of other airlines. I travel a lot for work across the globe and I have seen worse, but I think RAM need to do better. I still can’t use the website to book a flight without trying dozens of time, the service from/to Europe is the worst. Now that there are other options to fly to Morocco, I use them first because I know RAM will disappoint me. I would love giving my money to Moroccans national airlines, but they make it impossible. Do better RAM!

I've flown from FLL to BOS in just under 2 hours with a 200mph tailwind. But I also flew from BOS to the Azores in 4 hours flat. Which stunk because it was a redeye and we landed at 6AM. The flight home took 6:30 and I was fighting food poisoning. It is amazing what winds can do...
Cheers!
This Video Is Very Well Filmed With Deep Clarity! Thank You For Making The Brave Trip Upon Air Moroc,I Certainly Would Not Have Done It!!!🍻🍻🍻
Morocco is 1/3 green plains ( annually in tangier it rains more than in London ) , 1/3 mountain , 1/3 semi arid o desert .
Oh yeah, certainly do a Norse review, thanks a lot! 👍
Definitely try out out Norse! I’m thinking about flying them soon and curious how they stack up.
It's pretty much a rewamp of the old long distance Norwegian planes.
Because the south ok Morocco is Moroccan Wester Sahara smart Ass
Absolutely love your content Noel. Great to see the total travel experience including check in and staff interactions. Thank you
Glad you enjoy it!
Hi Noel. Love your videos. Since most of us fly economy. Would be nice to see more long haul economy reviews
I really appreciate you including that chaos with the hotel driver and their reaction to it to complete the "full experience"
Even though it has nothing to dp with Royal Air Maroc.
Definitely fly on Norse, Noel. We'd love to see it!
I flew on Royal Air Maroc all around Morocco MANY years ago. I recall it not being so bad, actually.
I like your videos! Morocco is also a beautiful country to be.
They just do the bare minimum, they are loosing market shares to Air arabia even in internal flights
@@Yanzdorloph air Arabia 😅 looool
@@Yanzdorloph air arabia is even worse what are you on about ?!
Great reviews. Never went better class, but now will get upgrades whenever possible.
Life is too short to worry about spending a bit more for a more comfortable long haul flight.
Good choice!
I laughed at the loo review right after eating that sketchy fish lol!
Political things hence the diversion
would definitely like to see some economy trans Atlantic flights. Norse, Jet Blue, BA, United, Air Lingus
my eyebrows reached my hairline when he ran off with your phone 😨😨
Great video would love to see the air quality on all the future flights
We stayed in the Crown Plaza twice.
We got upgraded to a suite as it was my birthday and we got a birthday cake delivered to the room.
Thanks for the report
May your have a better experience with RAM next time
Any plans of trying Finnair's new non-reclining business class seat? It has very controversial reviews.
Hi Noel. Yes, please do a review on Norse airline. I travel the States quite a bit and quite often the tickets are extortionate!
Love your work! You are a huge inspiration for my channel
I have flown with ram many times and the experience was quite good
I see Tunis airport hasn't changed at all.
Yes that is the way to handle this lot.
@@woutergijs5246 Westerns can be rude to . (about your comment handle the lot thing )
Moroccans are always bitter and jealous...Tunisian are much better ...very. Nice.
No I’m sorry this airline is just bad nothing to do with morrocans abroad treating them bad. This company just treat its clients like 💩
@@onikamaraj1239most Moroccans in America or Canada, sometimes feel arrogant towards the RAM staff, especially if there was a breakdown or something else, at the same time when Moroccans travel with other companies for example American airline or canada air line, even if there was a breakdown or a delay he cannot protest and put himself in a position where sometimes the police reacted, they made a big scandal in Quebec previous year, so when the police and the forces of order intercepted their protest they calmed the game.......the Moroccan does not understand that the plane is a machine which can be due to several problems either on the ground or when taking off, for him it. just need to travel immediately
I flew RAM in 2021, my daughter was sick and vomited on the flight
I asked the flight attendant for soda so she can get some energy back, the flight attendant told me that soda was for first class passengers only.
They didn't even have a blanket to cover her because she was chilled....bad experience.
the thing is that RAM's fares are not even cheap in biz. You can often get similar fares on better airlines such as AF or LH and AC has also a seasonal service to CMN
It would be great if you did a video on Norse Flight to Gatwick.
6:38 wow that business class looks stunning
Norse airlines are just a reboot for Norwegian airlines that stopped flying long haul a few years ago, they use the same planes with the same seats and even have the same upper management.
So in otherwords, doing the same thing and hoping for different results 😂
INSANITY
@@michaelreid8857 It was the pandemic that stopped Norwegian long haul, nothing wrong with the business model.
Loved the views from the helicopter ride!
Love your videos Noel, keep up the fantastic work! The view from the helicopter over New York was amazing! It is a shame the flight was not that good...
Would like to see you fly Norse Noel please. Great quality video. The views of NYC were amazing
I flew RAM and it was fine. Any shortcomings were more than made up for by being able to fly nonstop.
may I throw in a general remark about how I appreciate you not telling us to "like and subscribe" in every single video? It's such a fresh change. Of course I liked and subscribed ...
Moroccan tagines ar wonderful as are the accompaniments, what a pity they didn't give you some of that. I can't eat seafood of any kind so that meal would have been no good for me.
Oh Noel , bless you xx
Great video Noel! I would definitely try out Norse and Frenchbee, they offer really competitive fares from Europe to NYC.
A friend and I are taking Frenchbee from Boston to Tahiti in June and we got roundtrip for under $1000, definitely a steal if you ask me. (Boston to SFO is operated by Alaska Airlines)
@@schalitz1 Those are unbeatable fares today. Back in early Feb I booked a roundtrip Frenchbee ticket from Paris to Newark three days out and didn't even break 600 bucks.
I wish I went on french blue
Flew on RAM plenty times. One of my favourite company. Decent price for the service
Only had bad experiences with this airline. Broken bags, drilled out tisa lock. They don’t fix or replace days, they don’t respond to emails. Refuse to help if you go to their office. Will avoid at all cost.
Damn that’s unlucky, I have only got good experience with them
Try flying Royal Air Maroc from Casablanca to Agadir..that’s a real treat

That was an amazingly pretty young lady in the Turkish Airways lounge.
True, but Noel does not always fly Business... He gets into tiny cramped regional jets often enough.
Just watch more of his videos

False. I had flown economy with them, Great service.
