This video brought back some memories. Had this bike for a week after passing my test. I was terrible - first few days pizza delivery riders were over taking me all the time. I always remember how cold it was - didn't have any bike gear - just a helmet, some golf gloves and a golf waterproof jacket. Eventually took it up to 125mph on the M4. I pulled over, heart racing and thought 'what a t**t'. I'm sure many people still think that today, but for different reasons. That sound though!

Haha that sounds like a great time. 'Character building', at least…

Thank you! What a son - he's a keeper! 17 minutes is oddly specific, but that's so Triumph!

Back in the day, my buddy bought a D675. I was riding an 848 EVO at the time and loved it, but would steal my buddy’s bike whenever I got the chance. Such a playful chassis, that intake honk and exhaust note were just so addictive.

Ah that's a cool pairing - do you miss your 848? I had an 1198 for a bit in 2018 and I do miss it...

@@timrodierides I actually still have the 848 (just hit 11 years with it this month), but it’s just a garage ornament at this point. There’s also a Streetfighter 848 that gets 99% of the miles put on it, and a 996 monoposto for that 1% I’m feeling froggy. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen a 1198 in your older videos, but your Hypermotard stint was what turned me on to the channel. Me thinks it may be worth revisiting an 1198, or 1098 again. They’re still damn good bikes, even against the current crop of superbikes.

Man this was so cool to see! I would love to see a Tim goes down his bike history video series. I think it could be helpful even for new guys getting into bikes for the first time that don't want brand new.

In 2014 I got a 2012 675 Daytona in black and gold. Gorgeous bike but like you I tired of the riding position and chopped it in after 2 years for a Street triple r which I kept for 6 years. I really regret selling them and want another, think that day will come again before long! The 675 is such a great engine. 🙂

I still have the 2012 black faired and gold wheels 675, just can’t part with it, I also have the Daytona 765 which is smooth as to ride, but it doesn’t put a smile on my face like the 675 which is more exciting and raw to ride. Love my triumphs 😍

I had the Triumph Street Triple 675R with the same engine as my first bike. Cracking machine, involving ride, and that airbox 'snarl' as you said is a joy to listen to. My one main gripe with it though, was that constant gearbox whine! Your video brought that flooding back to me, and was the main reason I sold it. Maybe some riders don't mind it, but on long rides it got on my nerves. I think the 765 doesn't have such a loud whine, but I've yet to ride it. If you can put up with it though, the bike is a lot of fun!

My son just bought one of these I took it for a little rip oh my it's quick but I hate the riding position. In my defense, I am now a Harley-Davidson rider. I had a Honda Interceptor in 1984 reminded me of it but it was really uncomfortable to ride. I subscribed I also post motorcycle content.

Interesting. I had a 675r with a few choice mods, including the arrow exhaust, got fed up with the riding position and now have a 1050 speed and I'm getting fed up with it's tractor gearbox and will be looking at another clip on bike.

I got a 2014 street triple 675R and bought a 2015 Daytona 675R . Just put a second hand arrow and arrow mapped sounds better . The idea was to sell the street but can’t make my mind up . Might just keep the Daytona for track it’s not as good on the road as the street . Power in riding position
Had the street on track it’s good just missing top end power

    Awesome bike the 2010 D675.
Mine has Ktech front cartridges and Ohlins shock.
Third gear on the move and it’s heaven 🎉😂
Even today it ‘looks’ like a sports bike ❤
