This is one of the most difficult sports a person can do. As a former pro baseball athlete, I have profound respect for bodybuilders. My pops was a pro-level bodybuilder and I saw what he had to do in the 80s and 90s to win a competition and qualify for his pro status. 24-7 non stop work and dedication. Also plays a huge effect on the psyche and mental state. Phil Heath has been to battle many times. It’s always ok to hang the crown up as a winner.

Phil can still win. Not 2022 however. 2023. He knows the competition. Knows his body and can train accordingly. Perfectly healed and healthy he can definitely do it and put everyone else on notice. As a matter of fact, not only him, but Kai Green as well. Kai would just have to compete in a huge contest like The Arnold or NY Pro and win and then be qualified and ready to roll.

Brandon Curry didn't Beat Phil heath. Phil's injury beat Phil Heath. And for Brandon to point at his Injury while competing at the Mr. O I think was always wrong. Anyways. If he ever can fix it I think he could win again. All though some of the dudes now.. are so freaking huge its scary.

Kinda sucks but the reality is the sport of bodybuilding is a younder bodies game. Yes you need to be at a certain point for that muscle maturity but its such a short window. In Phils case it really came down to time. He was starting to run into issues and his body was just telling him the sands of time are about up. For me i prefer a smaller more classic look anyhow because i think bodybuilding in the open division anyway has gotten way out of control. Ramys legs look like they belong on a horse. Its not pleasing to look at and less and less people want to even chase that look because of what you have to do to yourself to not only get that big but maintain it once there.
