I had been to Angkor Wat in 2011 and saw shivalingams, idols of other Gods and pillars with ancient Tamil inscriptions. My sister went there in 2019 and most of them were missing and some idols were shifted to a museum nearby. So definitely something fishy going on there. Tamil trekker was accompanied by a friend who had seen idols of Hindu gods and the 2 of them were trying to decipher as to what had gone wrong where. That is why he was questioned, pushed around and treated like a suspect. Anyways, they do look at Indians with a tinge of suspicion all the time.
