Most ppl on the panel are making there selection on feelings and how good a player looks.this is test cricket,you don’t perform looking good for 5 overs.you have to look good for 40 overs or more.and guys who are averaging 30 or less and has played at least 10 test matches should not be in the top 5 batting lineup.if you keep doing the same thing as a selector.you gonna get the same result.I have said it many times.if a guy has played more than 20 straight innings at the test level and is giving you less than 35 on average then he should not make the team as a batsman.the problem is no one is averaging 35 with the exception of Darren bravo but the selectors isn’t selecting him because they say he hasn’t performed in the last 2 years.but how you gonna expect him to perform when he was going through a rough time with the president of the West Indies cricket board and then you drop him and then select him for one or two games and then drop him again.if your best batsman is going through a rough patch you don’t him.you stand by him to give him the confidence that he can do this because he has done it before.and he isn’t an old man in cricketing age.but then you go and select guys that everyone including the selectors,that are less technical than him and has less ability and you ask them to before above what they are capable of doing.what are you really playing for when you select guys that are averaging 30,29,25 and so on in your top order.are you playing just to participate in test cricket because based on the guys that are being selected to play test cricket,we aren’t playing to win

In a previous comment when the windies had won the first test match I had indicated that I was not impressed with their performance. Performance cannot be judged based on luck. windies won that first test match by the skin of their teeth. Continuing where they had left off from the first test and without the luck factor their defeat was inevitable. They lack confidence in their batting and were somewhat shaky. I would like to conclude that there exist a coaching problem. We need to call a spade a spade and stop pampering the windies.
