    Excellent video.. the use of mollies is so underrated in the community (esp yt). Love to see more videos around algae as this is one reason that makes many quit this amazing hobby

    I had also faced algae issues in initial stages of my tank setup, so much that I had to resetup my aquarium. Some observations I have to say-1 strong water flow of canister outlet and inlet with bigger gap create algae specially black beard .that problem can be solved by using glass lily pipe,they smoothen the flow and very narrow inlet prevent written plant accumulation inside filter. 2 temperature plays a vital role, giving aeration or fan cooling during summer solve green algae problem.3 drop checker solution helps to determine optimal CO2 injection rate in aquarium.More CO2 and less CO2 both create algae.4 . TDS in water plays a vital role as algae trigger,ever since I am using RO water during water change my tank's algae is under control.There is still some green dust algae on crypt and wall but I have kept them for my Siamese algae eater and autosynclus. At initial stages I had used APT Algae fix, but seen that it kills algae weakens the plants also they also need time to recover,so I stoped using it and focused on balancing light CO2 and fertiliser.i underdose water column, only 1 ml per day APT Complete for 2*1*1 ft aquarium.Thanks for guiding all hobbyist,wish to see more videos on aquascaping posted

    This video (and pt 1) are some of the most informative pieces on algae I have ever seen on the internet. This channel deserves WAY more subscribers, and one day you will have them with content like this.
    Do you prefer either black mollies or platys if you had to choose one? I have a nano tank so I can't add too many fish. Any other suggestions for filamentous algae eaters? (I will use suckers for diatom)
    Thanks!

    • @ripplesnatureinspiredaquar6870

      I would prefer black mollies. There used to be a fish called American Flag Fish, a great filamentous algae eater, but I have not seen it for many years now. You can also use APT Fixlite - an effective and safe algae controller which does not use copper or harmful carbon derivatives. But finally best way to control algae is to have your tank in balance.
      Thanks for your generous feedback. We too hope that the channel grows :)

      We are extremely sorry for the late response. Frankly speaking black mollies won't help you much with BBA. You need to reduce your nitrate levels and see if your CO2 is getting mixed properly. Using ADA Phytongit or APT Fix can help you to get some immediate relief from BBA

    Hello Gautam Da, I have 60H tank. I was about to purchase ONF Flat one for my tank because of its intensity and whitish tint emitting out. I don't like reddish tint like other WRGB lights. But other fellow hobbyist started suggesting other brands like azur or Ledstar and said you won't get optimum red color in plants with ONF Flat one. Please guide.

    • @ripplesnatureinspiredaquar6870

    Dear Goutam Da, I got BBA in my tank... So I am using algexite spot dosing once a week along with water change, now slowly BBA started getting white and SAE is eating them... But not completely... I think it will take another few weeks treatment... I have amano, pleco, otto and SAE... Shall I introduce black Molly too, do they also eat BBA?

    • @ripplesnatureinspiredaquar6870
      @ripplesnatureinspiredaquar6870  2 года назад

      We are not sure whether Black Molly will eat BBA or not. As we always say we need to find the root cause of finding out why algae is coming. BBA mostly comes due to lack of CO2 and also how the water is flowing in the tank. We normally use ADA Phytongit to control BBA. Our team can help you further if you please call at 9830009691

    • @ripplesnatureinspiredaquar6870
      @ripplesnatureinspiredaquar6870  2 года назад

So I'm left with either mollies or golden AE, can't order the Siamese online cause they want me to place an order for 600rs minimum, which is of no use for me. Please suggest an alternate way / fish to fix this brown diatom issue, plus I've also Started to have green algae. The golden AE available are just 1.25 inches big in size at the store, not too big for the tank at the moment, should i make it work until it's small in size ? Please suggest

    Sir , Is Black Molly or platies are effective against the Brown algae ? ..my whole aquarium's aquatic plants' leaves ( Specially Anubias ) are covered by brown algae after 3 weeks of new tank setup... don't want to spend money on buying Chemical products , as those are costly.. Should i introduce black Molly and platies as you said here.. Please reply sir .respect from kolkata..

    • @ripplesnatureinspiredaquar6870
      @ripplesnatureinspiredaquar6870  10 месяцев назад

      Brown algae is diatom. It comes typically in the initial days after setup. In general for all planted aquariums you must use a lot of aeration after CO2 is switched off from the very beginning of the setup. This also helps in controlling algae and is true for diatoms also. In addition put in some small sucker mouth catfishes like Ottocinclus or Balitora, they are more effective then mollies for diatoms. Please call 9830009691 or visit our gallery in Kolkata. Our team can then guide you better

    You can imagine the algae boom. Just stopped feeding the mollies and that pond just needs some water change. No food added, no crazy algae growth in past 2 yrs.
    I'd recruit some of them once a month in my room aquarium to get rid of algae. But they poop too much after feasting on the algae here
