Good question. CO2 loss happens mostly with significant surface agitation like when using air pumps or when you are using sump filters. With Surface Skimmers that problem is not so much so CO2 loss will not be anything significant

The shirabu one which was shown here as "another one" to demo the suction attachment was installed on my tank, not sure why when oase 350 was available..but i am really struggling with it and i do not recommend the shirabu one at all as the filtering marerail gets stuck inside the skimmer premeting any waterfllw through it

Hello sir how to treat or prepare drift wood for my fish only aquarium, last week I got wood from jungle, so sir please help me to treat it to fix in aquarium . Thankyou
Allow the driftwood to float in water in a container for at least 3/4 weeks. You can add mild acid like the ones to clean toilets to accelerate the process. Take out the wood and boil it. After which let the wood dry out in sun for at least 7 days
It is not advisable to hide the skimmer as that will obstruct the flow of water. But even if you hide behind some hardscape, please ensure that the surface flow into the skimmer is not blocked
This oase skimmer top guard is not made with fine mesh which could save some small residents of aquarium.this skimmer is also very powerful and discharging water below ,no option is there to change the flow direction according to your need.
Actually we should try and buy equipment with warranty which gives a long term purchase protection. That way recurring expenses can be eliminated and overall cost towards the hobby can be optimized

i guess you could cut some filtermediabag and use a rubberband to hold it in place or similar for fry not to get in the skimmer

Surface skimmer has an indirect effect on algae as it improves gaseous exchange and helps in deadspot removal

Additional skimmer is always helpful. It adds to the flow which by itself is a big additional advantage

Agreed with your observations. As we mentioned in the video, this model i.e. CrystalSkim 600 was rather large for the aquarium we chose.
You can control the flow by moving the part below the mesh in clock wise or anticlock wise
