      I wrote you an email about this but perhaps was overlooked. It's really dismaying to me that the very interesting text graphics you display are unreadable because of small size or low resolution. Other RUclipsrs - Jake Broe, Prof Gerdes, Artur Rehi, etc - also show excerpts from journal articles but their displays are very readable. I can pause the screen and read the material. But on your show, the text is just not readable. I hope your find some time to re-consider how you display text. Otherwise, great presentation. Thanks !!

    Ukraine really should treat POWs really well. Because when they get traded back and put back in the line, they'll tell their battle buddies, there is not reason to be afraid to surrender and even more will give up.

    • @SammywiseG

      Ukraine already does that, at least more or less, according to the Geneva Conventions on the treatment of prisoners of war. Russia, on the other hand, treats their prisoners of war poorly. From the photos I've seen of prisoner exchanges many of them look malnourished and harrowed.

      Given the uncertainty, one could incorporate safe-haven assets. Going long on U.S. defense stocks like Lockheed, Raytheon and Northrop Grumman could be a solid option, considering the geopolitical landscape.

      @Jennapeters144 4 месяца назад +1

      I agree. Defense stocks do well in times of geopolitical instability, as long as there's no financial fraud. Defense ETFs help spread risk by investing in different companies in the sector.

      While defense stocks and ETFs are smart choices, don’t forget about the historical role of gold during uncertain times. Its value tends to rise as a hedge against geopolitical risks. How about allocating a portion of the portfolio to gold?

      That's the driving force behind the war. The worst thing for Russia is that the outcome hasn't really mattered since the first days of the war. The only possible way they came out on top was seizing territory without serious resistance- they would look dangerously competent and create a buffer zone. The DAY that didn't happen and the world saw the comprehensive failure of the Russian military they lost almost every benefit they could possibly gain. Then it got worse, Finland and Sweden joined NATO their hypothetical Ukrainian buffer doesn't mean anything if the Finns go marching into St. Petersburg and cut off the Baltic Fleet in the first hour of the war.
      The only reason this is still going on is that Putin is in a catch 22. He can look weak by giving up or become weaker by fighting. There's no winning plays here and he has chosen like he always has that preserving the image of strength is more important than actual strength.

      what a stupid argument. zalushnyi is a legend who did a great job defending ukraine. he worked alongside syrsky. syrsky does have interesting tricks up his sleaves, but the defense so far isn't going well. ukraine is thankfully holding at least in most areas, but they are under immense pressure.
      i still personally think it was the wrong decision to remove zalushnyi as ukraine is still mostly in the defensive. if you want the surprise element syrsky brings onto the table, then let both work together like they alr did before. have zalushnyi coordinate the defensive in the east and south and syrsky command the northern part.

      Lots of Russian troll coordinated narratives were proven to be BS because of this. It just exposed all of the lies, beginning with the entire pretext for Russia's invasion. Why was the border so weak if they were going to be attacked by nazis? And Kursk was part of Ukraine until 1917, so it's historically Ukrainian, there are Ukrainian speakers there, an they don't allow teaching the Ukrainian language. So the trolls are left with nothing to say.

    It's important to also note that the river bordering the west pocket is only ~20km from the Ukrainian border, meaning any attempt to reinforce/resupply/retreat over it can be hit by standard 155mm artillery. Things are not going to go well for the Russians there.
