Thanks for making this, it's a lot easier than I would have thought. I've always travelled light in my past few flights and never had any checked bags before and I still have a couple of questions. So when I drop off my checked bag, it just goes on that conveyor to the flight I will be going on? I thought I remembered seeing people leave their bags right before the plane door and pick them up as well, but maybe that's on smaller planes? And I'm not sure if you know, but after I get off my AA airlines flight at JFK on Tuesday, I will have to switch to a different flight (Philippine Airlines), will I need to pick up my checked bag again after landing at JFK and repeat the checked bag process for the new one?
For the checked bags they go on the conveyor and you won’t see them till the last destination. You do not need to pick your check back again till you get where you need to be. The carry on bags are the only bags you keep with you and you carry on with you into the aircraft.
AAid horrible...i arrived in San Diego 10 minutes before they started boarding. The ticket counter lady said i arrived to late and cancelled my expensive ticket. Had to get refunds from the hotel and rcar rental. Total nightmare

They do the check in for your convenience and quicker otherwise they have people there that can help you with that as well, you don’t have to do it yourself.

When you purchase the tickets through their mobile app after the purchase it will give you an option to add tickets to Apple Wallet if you have an iphone. Not really sure about android.
Never fly American Airlines again: Bought a round trip ticket from NYC to Dallas had to take an earlier flight to Dallas, didn't reschedule so missed the first flight. Didn't think anything about it because I had already paid for the ticket and wasn't expecting a refund, because I had to change my plans. Apparently somewhere in the fine print if you don't take the first flight American Airlines cancels the entire ticket with no refund. Seems to me like highway robbery. Good on them they will NEVER see another dime of my money or anyone in my family. Called customer service the response was ticket has no value, of course it doesn't now American Airlines already has my money.
I’m sorry that you have gone through this but every airline got its advantages and disadvantages as I have been through similar Scenario with Southwest Airlines in the past but it has been better ever since. Thanks for the feedback.
I agree, AA can really suck sometimes. I had a flight that had to turn back after takeoff after a bird impact. Fair enough, that happens. Then we all had to sit for half an hour, move to a new gate, then get told an hour later that the flight was cancelled and the earliest flight was the next day in the morning. This has never happened to me with any other airline. Hopefully it was an outlier situation, because I am not happy with AA at all. The lady I talked to did provide hotel accomodations and got me on a flight the next day (upgraded to first class), so I'm really hoping that goes off without a hitch.
I have booked the tickets online but I haven’t done any online check. I checked through the self check as shown in the video and checked the bags as shown as well
I already had the checked baggage paid for when I purchased my ticket (1 checked bag) unless if you have more than 1 bag then you can check with the front desk if you haven’t already paid for it upfront at the time of purchasing the ticket online.
Well I had the electronic version of the ticket on my phone as once you purchase the tickets online through the airline website the phone ask you if you wanna save copy of the boarding pass to your wallet if you have an Iphone. The physical ticket though you get it printed at the airport as shown in the video.

So they don’t have a separate bag drop off area if your checked bags are already pre-paid? Doesn’t seem like it’s saving much time?
Not that i’m aware of. I think it’s fairly quick process, doesn’t take alot of time to get it all done max 15 minutes.
