As we celebrate the life and mourn the incredible loss of Ron Hynes, here is a concert recorded at the D.F. Cook Recital Hall in St. John's Newfoundland December 19th, 2007. Recorded and broadcast by the CBC on Canada Live, it features the Jeff Johnson Trio, and the Atlantic String Quartet, with arrangements by Bill Brennan.

Not many songs have been written that come remotely close to capturing so much of the essence of monumental loss and heartache. I always thought Valdy's version was the best, but this rendition by Ron has much more connection and immediacy. Classic Canadiana.
