You are correct maam. I got to see him in Germany in the later 70's as Ten Years Later. But it was Alvin at his best!
Edit: this is a good trivia q/a He reformed but due to contractual reasons he had to call it Ten Years Later. I found out about the concert coming up and contacted both of my brothers that were also in the US army at the time in Germany and had a mini reunion at the concert.
      True story, good times

I'm 39. Love this number. My Dad raised me from the time I could walk on all the great classic rock n roll music from the 60's to the 80's. Never be music like this again. Bands back then had something to say. The message was better. It makes you feel good. Like when I listen to Bob Seger's Hollywood nights. I feel like I can tackle anything.

Alvin Lee AKA Captain Speedy Fingers, was one of the greatest guitarist, song writers, and vocalist to ever live. He is right at the top with Jimi Hendrix, Billy Gibbens, Toni Iommi, and others. He was the best guitarist ever, in his own style, as was Hendrix, in his own style and so on. I spent so many hours of my youth listening to his guitar riffs, his lyrics. He was so talented and intellectual. His music wasn't just loud noise, it meant something, it had a message, a lesson. I learned so much from him . I'm so sorry he's gone. God bless him.

Great music, unfortunately today's market expects more, more poetic and vague lyrics, more complex hooks and melodies, higher production quality, performance without any errors, rhythmic structure that highlights any errors, perfect pitch every note every time. Millions of dollars to record, produce and promote. All of this and the percentages for the artist are typically low (even Metallica makes their money off merchandise, not touring itself) and without name a well established name you'll never get an audience of more than 100. No wonder artists use every tool available to produce disposable flavor of the week music
