This ost perfectly executed the feeling of the scene. There’s so much suffering in AoT. It’s enough to have to go against a friend and give up your land’s freedom to save humanity, but they also have to kill their friends along the way.
Well... They didn't HAVE to kill their friends. Samuel was disarmed and defenceless, he was begging for Connie to stop and got shot 3 times point blank in the face. Connie could have just told him to take off his gear and back off, but that wouldn't have been very dramatic now, would it.

Yeah. At first, I almost criticized Armin for not acting because then Connie had to bloody his hands for both of them. But then I realized I don't know what I would do in that situation, and it punches me in the gut. Maybe Daz would've changed his mind, and maybe Armin stopping like that was actually him trying to get Daz to do that. But they can't have known for certain, and they had to choose eventually. And Connie did, even though it broke him. Armin wasn't wrong to do what he did... and I honestly can't say Connie was, either. That's what's so sad about it. Once again, Isayama put us in a no-win situation to make us really consider how we humans treat each other.
@@ekdavis I remember someone also saying that armin being shot in the mouth lead to their deaths as he didnt get a chance to talk things out with them because this was the situation he wanted to avoid more than anything, despite him not being able to speak he wanted to do things without shedding blood so he stood there with stern but pleading look into Daz eyes hoping he could understand what he wanted without using words.
@@pathsgfx That's a great point. I could see that earnest plea he was trying to communicate in his eyes, but I didn't think about how badly he must've wanted to speak in that moment. If he could have, perhaps things would've been different. I love how I can realize new angles on the intricate scenes of this show thanks to other people's thoughts!

From Connie reminding Berthholdt of their promise of having drinks together in season 2 to Samuel reminding Connie of their promise of having meat together, AOT has changed a lot. It has messed us from inside. Truly a masterpiece.

Can we all take a moment to acknowledge the situation they are in? They betrayed their own kind to save everyone else. But what then? If they kill eren, they will be in the same situation they were in the start. The world will come to destroy them if they succeed. They are sacrificing so much just to press the restart button. It's such a pain to see them do so much for something that will most likely lead to there doom. History will repeat itself.

To be honest, I'm pretty sure the SC have accepted for the most part that the world is most likely gonna annihilate Paradis. There is no plan that exists without a mass slaughtering of innocent lives. But let's not pretend that the Jaegerists are angels either and that peace will come to Paradis with the rest of the world slaughtered. The Jaegerists are basically Nazis and killed anyone who didn't agree with them. There isn't a chance in hell they won't eventually do the same on the rest of the populace for another reason. The SC doesn't have any loyalty to the Paradis government now that it's been taken over by the Jaegerists who killed all their allies in the military. The population of Paradis is only a million, but there are probably many more Eldians outside the walls that will be killed. So really the only reason they should prioritize Paradis is because they happened to be born there.
I’ve been rewatching this scene and replaying Two-lives the whole day since this episode dropped. Mappa made this scene one of my favorite scene ever in AOT. Hiroyuki Sawano the goat is a goat for a reason. Hiro Shimono as Connie is so masterful. Can not wait for when he does “that” Zenitsu fight. Just wow 😮👏👏👏👏👏👏 Thank you Samuel Kim for your hard work. I freaking love that last piano part so much. Can you expand that part longer? It’s candy to my ears.

I heard a hint of of the older ost's and then I knew I was in for some major emotions during this episode. It felt so short because I was so focused on watching Connie and Armin, two of the noblest characters have to come to terms with the dark things they need to do in order to win. Watching them break breaks me.
This is the moment Connie and Armin saw through the eyes of Beretholdt and Reiner... There are no good guys or bad guys... Just people trying to survive and stay true to what they believe is right for the world... And doing whatever they must to achieve that goal...
This scene got me so hyped I got hit with the biggest nostalgia from season 3 when Levi just defeated Zeke and For his last words saying “ile wipe out every last one of you declaring his victory”
I waited to come here because I just saw the traitor episode…wow, just amazing. The music in this scene went so well and had me on the edge of my seat so to speak🤦🏾♀️ makes me wanna hug connie and armin😭
Personally what got me the most was Armin being just paralysed by Bertholdt's memories. To have had the knowledge and experience in your mind of being in that impossible position for the first time twice must be so consuming.
Knowing the harsh decisions Connie had to make; I'm just glad Sasha got to rest before going through the same thing.Imagine if she shot Samuel, the one she saved before.
AoT is the pinnacle of story telling. I don't know if there will be another that can compare which can also pull on your heart strings in this way. Remember we are all so lucky to live and see such a beautiful yet tragic thing.
The most despicable crime of all. I get the state of everything but I am never killing my own friends and most people wont. In AoT After the suffering they all went through from titans dreams they had together..Daz and Samuel couldn't do it but Connie

The way this scene was directed along with the soundtrack i think made it one of the best scenes in animation period.

Man the cut to Armin with most of his lower jaw missing kind of freaked me out
I heard a hint of of the older ost's and then I knew I was in for some major emotions during this episode. It felt so short because I was so focused on watching Connie and Armin, two of the noblest characters have to come to terms with the dark things they need to do in order to win.
Watching them break breaks me.
This is the moment Connie and Armin saw through the eyes of Beretholdt and Reiner... There are no good guys or bad guys... Just people trying to survive and stay true to what they believe is right for the world... And doing whatever they must to achieve that goal...
The fact that at the end of the show only 4 people will live long enough from this group is so fking depressing man

I waited to come here because I just saw the traitor episode…wow, just amazing. The music in this scene went so well and had me on the edge of my seat so to speak🤦🏾♀️ makes me wanna hug connie and armin😭

Personally what got me the most was Armin being just paralysed by Bertholdt's memories. To have had the knowledge and experience in your mind of being in that impossible position for the first time twice must be so consuming.
Knowing the harsh decisions Connie had to make; I'm just glad Sasha got to rest before going through the same thing.Imagine if she shot Samuel, the one she saved before.
The literal ONE AND ONLY comedic relief character left of the whole series broke down screaming in pain. God damn this show is f*cking RUTHLESS.
AoT is the pinnacle of story telling. I don't know if there will be another that can compare which can also pull on your heart strings in this way. Remember we are all so lucky to live and see such a beautiful yet tragic thing.
