As a QB the important thing is internal control. Because the QB is largely the internal control of the offense, your personal control is the internal control to the internal control. You need to transcend the normal flow of the game - ie, not being only sharp when you’re hot, sloppy when you’re down and sloppy when you’re ahead. You need to learn how to be as precise and forward-thinking even when you’re ahead and even when you’re behind. Too many times you see a great talent that (of course) starts getting throw-happy when ahead. A truly great QB is sharp and deliberate all the time. Discipline is the infrastructure to talent in a QB.
