I Spent 3 Months Creating This Sculpture Out of Trash Found on Beaches and Landfills.

- I spent 3 full months creating this sculpture titled World at War. I found all the materials used on the California coastline as well as local Bay Area landfills. This sculpture is one of my most meaningful sculptures to date. I had to carve massive blocks of polyurethane foam in order to complete this piece.

This is the kind of man I want...we can go to the beach and collect junk, dates at the landfills and expectations for anniversary presents is stuff you find on the side of the road 🥰😍 you and your wife must have epic trips everywhere. hahaha thank you! Yes she does help out. We do take some pretty cool trips however we just had a little one and we are just enjoying ourselves at home now. I use industrial shears to cut the tires.

My bad 😔 I meant to say...what happens with all the small pieces that have been not chosen for your art? Here in New Zealand, you have your project material and all the pieces that are not used from that material are called off-cuts.

I’ve always wanted to do this as i’ve realise earth need more people Like you, earth need our help. Recycling waste and turn them into an amazing art is a spectacular talent to possess and I’m not blessed with the talent that you have, where I don’t make a “good looking art” I hope you can make a tutorial vid, where we can follow through easily help, so that we also can turn plastics and other junks and turned into masterpiece, thx u 💙💙🌍💙

Would be cool if it was somehow out of 100 % recycled materials🙂
How about using plastic or cans for the frame? The plastic could be bags somehow woven together or plastic melted into forms, if you used cans they could be stripped on either side, as you do the tires to create flat pieces of tin to work with/ or just use compacted tins and cans to create the balk of the base/frame. Not sure if these would work for you?

Hey Jessica, I love constructive criticism, it is what moves me to try different things. Unfortunately I would be unable to use anything with plastic for the inner structure. There is nothing that tires adhere to well, and plastic is very hard to manipulate into desired forms. The only recycled item that I am hoping to switch to is recycled packaging foam (EPS foam) which comes standard with any package you get. The white beaded foam.
Hoping to try that in the near future.
How about igneous rock with resin, you might have tried.

It is fiberglassed over so it will hold up excellent

No, sorry car and truck. I'm in Florida.
A polyurethane foam sculpture with some tires glued to it does not "promote environmental consciousness". Which has a greater impact on the environment, picking up a few pounds of trash or the factories, shipping vehicles, and non biodegradable chemicals uses for the core of these sculptures. If you're going to do this, do it right. Sorry for being that guy. Just say they're sculptures and leave the environmentalist talk out of this video.
