I love my shiba My shiba got out once and thought he was gone forever.....a week later I go to walk out of my house and he came running in.....i was so happy that day and so grateful.
Hachi was found at approximately 2 years old wandering in a parking lot, no collar or chip, filthy and not neutered. He is now 4 and I've had him for a year. He has become a wonderful companion after a great deal of training. Has his own strong opinions on what he wants to do. His name should be Houdini, he can get out of any harness in 5 seconds. He is very alert and possessive. He kept me up with barking last night because I didn't notice that Sophie the poodle was in his bed. He is now communicating well. Love my Shiba.
They really are known to escape! My shiba somehow escaped from the fenced yard a couple times, she did come back eventually but I guess she really tried so hard to run away. She is trained but she only listens when she wants to.
Both of my Shibas (I have a 1 year old male and a 2 year old female) are well trained off leash. Since the breed is so stubborn, a shock collar works well with them, but we hardly use it anymore since they understand what to do now. They definitely become more loyal with age!
True. My Shiba is 11 now and he literally follows me around all day, he’s right by my side, but if someone accidentally leaves the gate open outside he’s gone. I chased him for two hours once. Unfortunately, it’s just in their nature to escape and explore.
My Shibu Inu is Juno. Best dog ever. She likes to dig for moles and kills birds. Very affectionate when she wants to be. Does not run out the front door even if it open.
I adore my shiba inu she’s extremely good and sweet can be quite a brat tho she is completely trained of lead and loves my whole family so much she love whining for attention!she also has a micro chip anyways!
I love my baby Shiba, she’s a brat but she’s adorable and I love her.
How good-natured, alert, and bold is your Shiba Inu?

I hope he isn’t named Hachi as in Hachiko. BC Hachiko was an Akita
I let my Shiba off leash at night and he always comes back eventually
Same with mine, I'm more worried about her prey drive kicking in on the neighborhood cats than her getting lost.
In that case, Your Shiba is comfortable in It's home/shelter so it does not want to leave.
Btw,may i know shiba price pls
Only takes one time for something to go wrong.
Same with mine when she runs away she comes back and stand by the door
if only they would shed twice a year, yeah you get a big explosion during spring but then they keep shedding the rest of the summer lol.
