I always enjoy watching your videos. I will explain about the brass band competition. Japanese brass band is top level in the world, The competition consists of marching and concert. About 80% of Japanese high schools have brass band clubs, and about 3,100 schools participate in competitions. The tournament is divided into prefectural tournaments, branch tournaments, and national tournaments, and only 30 schools can participate in the national tournament. Participating schools will be awarded bronze, silver and gold awards. This video shows the eight schools that won the gold medal. By the way, Kyoto Tachibana High School lost at the Kyoto Prefectural Tournament. There are 6,700 junior high schools participating in the competition, and they are fighting even harder.
You guys wondered what the various illustrations and text on the sheet music they were using were for. They first check where they need attention in their own playing. Secondly, the illustrations you saw were drawn by members of the same band to cheer each other on. Basically they don't need sheet music when playing. Because they memorize the whole performance. They treated themselves as a kind of talisman, fulfilling their wish to perform at their best. They use it carefully from the time of daily practice.
@@MaxSujyReact Because tachibana is not that good at "sitting play", they focus on marching. Recommend you to watch their all japan marching band contest final in 2015. Oh, you mean they did not participate. I thought that by disqualified, you meant that they participated but did something illegal which lead to disqualification.
@@MaxSujyReact there are 2 contests they join every year. One is all Japan band contest. This one we call it "sitting play". Bands don't march, just play. Another one is all Japan marching band contest. I think both contests are 3 stage rule, Kyoto-kansai-national. I never see Tachibana in sitting play national level contest. And even in marching contest Tachibana always get disqualified in kansai. In kansai there are too many good teams, only 3 of them can go to national final. And gold doesn't mean number one. Like 10 or more teams get gold. Tachibana got gold in 2009, 2015, 2021, 2022. In 2012, 2013, 2014, they got silver. Team in 2015 was very very good, led by drum major Okamoto(cony). They finally got gold after 6 years. This year (2023), all Japan marching band contest final is in next week in osaka. Tachibana will be the first team to play. We all hope they will get the 3rd gold in consecutive 3 years !!!
