I don't know much about Mamamoo, but what I do know I like. I know that they're all ridiculously gorgeous, Moonbyul is one of the best rappers I've heard in K-pop and happens to be in Jin's friend group, their voices are heavenly, and they are just as big crackheads as BTS. When they're in a green room they're so loud laughing and talking that they can be heard from the next rooms. 😆
I'm an ARMY but Mamamoo is def my favorite girl group (actually the only girl group I ever listen to). they are amazing live performers (like BTS--even though they have their own style and set of talents). Their vocals are incredible and they know how to command a stage with raw performance. Also, they stand out as strong confident women without any gimmicks or "concepts" All their solo projects are good too and they have great personality and chemistry together (like BTS). If you want to see their talent, watch the Mamamoo Killing Voice. You will be blown away.

Their slower ballad type songs especially like Wind Flower and I Miss You are two of my favorite songs.
I love Mamamoo. The silver haired rapper’s name is Moon Byul and she’s friends with BTS Jin. One of their group members did a song with OneWe, a male band I like for their talent. OneWe also did a cover of this song and it is awesome. I highly recommend getting to know OneWe, their main vocalist is exceptional and the lead guitarist can make his guitar sing.
There are 4 members of Mamamoo: Hwa Ssa, Moonbyul, Solar, and Wheein. When they first debuted they faced a lot of criticism because they don’t look like traditional female Kpop idols, people said they were ugly and too fat. (Which is obviously bull.) They also don’t sound like traditional female Kpop idols. Their voices are all very distinct. But Mamamoo just kind of spit in the face of all their haters. Sometimes they even do things to provoke their haters. (Solar’s pole dance). They have big time bravado and attitude and I love it! Wheein actually left their company already and signed with a different company, but they still perform together as a group and just had a come back this month.
Vocal Queens of Kpop. They practically do everything: jazzy, bosanova, latin, funk, RnB, disco, motown-ish, power ballads & their latest is reggaeton. If you interested in live performance, my suggestion is Mamamoo Killing Voice & Mamamoo It's Live. They will show you what beautiful voices & high quality singing techniques are all about. Mamamoo are THE female vocal group! Respected in the industry and by the public for being artists rather than just idols for their great talent. Each of the 4 ladies has their own solo projects and have their own flavour. Their male vocal counter parts are BtoB who are also incredibly talented and respected.
Fun fact: Moonbyul is the most credit 3rd gen female idol. She write all of her own rap verses. And she's an amazing vocalist too. That girl can sing sing. All of the members have a solo career too that you can check out. I feel like Moonbyul's eclipse is gonna blow your mind. I hope you keep going with your mamamoo reactions. Yes!!! was waiting for you to check them out. HIP is great and it dosen't even show 5% of the vocals and harmonies these ladies can give in each and every song and performances. Live performances are even better and it seems they eat cds for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. To think that Moonbyul (the rapper actually auditioned as a vocalist) she is amazing. Wheein, the one playing drums actually learned to play the drums for one of their concerts. This is a song for all the haters. Hwasa, from the start was hated because some didn't think she should be an idol. Got called ugly and fat. Some even petioned for her to be kicked out of the group. Ah yes! Mamamoo is amazing so hear vocals are the absolute best female vocals in kpop. 4 insanely talented ladies who push boundaries and are one of the big feminist K-pop groups.
Mamamoo is up with the best of the best for vocal talent and performance. They sing nearly all genres, big band, jazz, rock, pop, reggae, latin, R&B and more. Their MVs and songs also range from retro 20s and 60s to modern. They sing as well if not better live over recorded, sometimes you cant tell the difference. They also take part in composing music and lyrics to some of their songs, the rapper is now the most credited female lyricist in korea. Their live performances are next level, besides the vocal talent and choreo I have seen them rolled out on thrones, do comedy skits and crackhead songs, there is even them singing about pikachu with some of the most extreme vocal talent possible. Pick any song they are all good. Most people go for songs like Egotistic, Aya, Mr Ambiguous, Piano Man, um oh ah yeh, their latest is 1llella, 123 eoi and l i e c. I Miss You and where are we now, starry night will show off extreme vocals, anything live is going to be unreal. All 4 members also have solo albums done this year, The rapper Moonbyul and Wheein came out January, Hwasa was last december and Solar, who was the boxer in this video is my bias had her solo in March. There are OSTs, and 3 of the members have you tube channels. Good luck choosing a bias.

Mamamoo are known as the queens of vocals - l love HIP but it doesn’t reveal their vocals as does some of their other songs. Ya need to watch Dingo Killing Voice to get a real grasp of how amazing they truly are
First time for me to listen to them too. I like it. But last weekend I listened to a title of one of them...Hwa Sa I believe (it seems to me that it is the one that covers the eyes of the little girl) with the title "Maria" and I liked it a lot too, pretty voice(s).
Hwasa recently did a collab single album with Loco called Somebody. Somebody and Lemon, the b-side of the album, both have MVs. Check them out because both are great!
Mamamoo is simply incredible, they're great great great performers, if you want to discover them and some of their biggest success, I definitely recommend their Killing Voice perf. Hope you'll react to it and really hope you have a good time discovering them and their incredible talent !
They are fabulous singers and dancers . Please do the MV egotistical and the live Killing voices. They are the BTS of girl groups, so different and above all the rest. I am truely surprised they have not been promoted in the west. They are real women who don’t have to pretend to be sexy or cute because they are naturally sexy and cute.
If you dig deeper into them you'll come across something like the following in the comments : "if you love Mamamoo raise your hands, if you don't you should raise your standards" Do they sing live? Ah man, are you in for a surprise. Not only are they great live, they are even better than in the studio because although all 4 of them are introverts and actually rather shy... they freaking own any stage they get on because they give their all when in front of a crowd. Their first gig only had 3 audience members (friends and family). Their first full solo concert sold 6,200 seats (= the venue) in less than 60 seconds. Almost forgot, each of the 4 members are successful solo artists, that's how freaking awesome they are.
Absolutely recommend you watch killing voice!!!! Mamamoo are insanely good at harmonizing and you can really appreciate their skills and the texture of their voices when in the stripped down setting! Like BTS they started from a smaller company and had to fight to get where they are today, and their passion and dedication really shows in their craft. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to Stan a group the way I do BTS, but Mamamoo probably comes closest- it’s impossible not to respect their talent and enjoy their music! Edit: Forgot to leave suggestions! I like their poppier music, but I LOVE their slower R&B or even ballad type songs. Besides Killing Voice which is a live compilation, I recommend Starry Night, Star, Wind, Flower, Sun, and Piano Man!

They're 4 members in Mamamoo: Solar is the leader and lead vocal Moonbyul is lead rapper (but she can also sing) Hwasa is main vocal (but also raps) Wheein is main vocal (fun fact: she actually knows how to play drums and guitar (if I recall correctly)) They are really chaotic in a fun way, and are big BTS enthusiasts. Actually some false information Mamamoo doesn’t have official main and lead positions besides main rapper which is moonbyul. Solar: Leader, (main) Vocalist, visual Wheein: (main) Vocalist, (main) dancer Hwasa: (lead) Vocalist, (lead) rapper Moonbyul: main rapper, (lead) dancer, (sub) vocalist I categorized them like that but like I said they have no official positions cuz all of them rock any position. Solar wheein and hwasa could all of them be a main vocalist in pretty much every girl group besides red velvet (wendy) and snsd. And Moonbyul is a rlly amazing vocalist too which be a main in some groups but mostly at least a lead vocalist in other groups.

Oh yes, my wife Moonbyul!!! She is the greatest rapper girl out there and she is in charge of the lyrics of their albums too!!! Now i recommend you to watch one of their stages that in my personal opinion just shows the greatest of them in vocals: from the show "Immortal Songs" you can watch "Delilah", "Passion Flower" and "Wonderful Confession" just to get a little spoon of sugar from them before you can watch their MV's ! and if you watch their songs, i recommend you to watch since the MV debut "Mr. Ambiguous" 🤍🤍🤍
It’s funny that you counted five - they have so much energy and ability that it’s sometimes hard to believe there’s only four of them. 😂 Moonbyul (also “Moonstar”), the rapper, originally trained as a vocalist and her coach expected her to debut as a main vocal in a group. But in Mamamoo she was asked to drop that and become the rapper. For a few years she lost her confidence in her vocals, but more recently she has been singing much more, with a gorgeous alto voice. Her vocal training background comes through in her rapping, where she deploys a very wide range of styles, including a heart-melting style of melodic rap. Her “girl crush” level is off the scale. Solar is their leader. She’s the one playing rock guitar and wearing the split colour outfits. She is famous for her extremely powerful belting voice, and recently sang the title role in a Korean stage musical, Mata Hari. She has phenomenal vocal control and musicality in the quieter registers too. She originally was at university to train to be a flight attendant, but a street karaoke contest set her on the path to be a singer. She failed 40+ auditions before signing with RBW (mainly for being “too old” by K-pop standards). Wheein (playing drums, and painting) is the second-youngest, and my bias in this group (although the others are all bias-wreckers). She has an absolutely gorgeous voice, with clear beautiful belting as well as a softer breathy tone that she uses in ballads. She is often the funniest and quickest-witted of the four (although the competition is high) and the most fluid dancer (you can see it in the details). She signed with a different company in 2021 as a solo artist, but remains with RBW for Mamamoo group activities. Hwasa (sitting with the little girl, and spitting at the screen) has an incredible tone colour in her voice. A lot of Mamamoo songs start with her, if the song is looking to immediately set a sexy or dangerous mood. She has received a lot of criticism for not meeting Korean beauty standards, but she famously responded by telling herself “if I can’t meet this generations standards, I will become my own new standard”. And she did it. She is probably the most famous internationally, with her song “Maria” and many invitations to be a fashion model. She is also a great rapper, and rapped quite a lot in their early era. The other magic thing is when you learn that the two youngest members, Wheein and Hwasa, became best friends on the first day of middle school, in the town of Jeonju in the south of Korea. They sang together at karaoke and school concerts, and shared the same dream of becomingg singers. At age 15/16, they moved to Seoul to pursue that dream, and eventually debuted togther as half of Mamamoo.

Mamamoo are absolute QUEENS. There are four members, all vocalists and in the order of their starting positions in the MV - Moonbyul, Hwasa, Solar, Wheein. All of us fans are called Moomoo's which in korean means radishes lol It's adorable. They share so many commonalities with BTS and have had many good interactions with them in the past so the groups fandoms tend to support each other and celebrate each others accomplishments. Mamamoo leads the way in KPOP in showing love and support to the LGBTQ+ community and they all have active solo RUclips channels except for Hwasa. Can't wait to see you delve more deeply into them. I I don’t get into girl groups but I adore Mamamoo. They are all amazing singers. You want to see and hear their ballad mv’s for Where are we now or Windflower to really hear their vocals.
In my opinion Moonbyul, the rapper from Mamamoo and Seoyeon from (G)I-dle, are the two best female rappers in Kpop. Jessie, is probably up there to round out the top 3 as well. (For me) Moonbyul is also good friends with BTS’ Jin, and they were born in the same year. Other Mamamoo songs I love: Egotistic, Starry Night, Dingga, Aya, Destiny
CL is still the best female rapper in kpop with Moonbyul second. I don't rate Soyeon in the top five as she has an annoying nasally tone and doesn't change her flow or cadence enough. LE from EXID is my pick for third best and Jessi at number four.
Mate, you need to look up either their immortal song medley or their killing voice medley if you really want your mind blown by their live vocals. I suggest the former for skill and stage presence, and the latter for a better idea of their colour as a group and a glimpse into their own discography. The MAMAMOO members(as of 2020) are among some of the most-credited idols in K-Pop. Moonbyul actually has the most songwriting credits of all 3rd generation female idols (at 65 credits for this artical, but at 111 as of 2023), since she writes her own raps in almost all of the group’s songs. And more(songwriting, composition on Illella). Solar has 25+ credits to her name. She also wrote the lyrics and composition for her solo song, “Spit it Out”. Composer on "Honey" Hwasa, meanwhile, has 27+ credits. The lyrics to her solo song, “María”, were praised for its inventive and meaningful wordplay. ("Somebody" w/Loco) Wheein has at least 9 (that I can confirm, probably more) as of 2023. There are definately other songs between the artical in Sept 2020 and now... I've mentioned only one for each LOL,

I love Mamamoo. The silver haired rapper’s name is Moon Byul and she’s friends with BTS Jin. One of their group members did a song with OneWe, a male band I like for their talent. OneWe also did a cover of this song and it is awesome. I highly recommend getting to know OneWe, their main vocalist is exceptional and the lead guitarist can make his guitar sing.

There are 4 members of Mamamoo: Hwa Ssa, Moonbyul, Solar, and Wheein. When they first debuted they faced a lot of criticism because they don’t look like traditional female Kpop idols, people said they were ugly and too fat. (Which is obviously bull.) They also don’t sound like traditional female Kpop idols. Their voices are all very distinct. But Mamamoo just kind of spit in the face of all their haters. Sometimes they even do things to provoke their haters. (Solar’s pole dance). They have big time bravado and attitude and I love it! Wheein actually left their company already and signed with a different company, but they still perform together as a group and just had a come back this month.

Mamamoo is up with the best of the best for vocal talent and performance. They sing nearly all genres, big band, jazz, rock, pop, reggae, latin, R&B and more. Their MVs and songs also range from retro 20s and 60s to modern. They sing as well if not better live over recorded, sometimes you cant tell the difference. They also take part in composing music and lyrics to some of their songs, the rapper is now the most credited female lyricist in korea. Their live performances are next level, besides the vocal talent and choreo I have seen them rolled out on thrones, do comedy skits and crackhead songs, there is even them singing about pikachu with some of the most extreme vocal talent possible. Pick any song they are all good. Most people go for songs like Egotistic, Aya, Mr Ambiguous, Piano Man, um oh ah yeh, their latest is 1llella, 123 eoi and l i e c. I Miss You and where are we now, starry night will show off extreme vocals, anything live is going to be unreal. All 4 members also have solo albums done this year, The rapper Moonbyul and Wheein came out January, Hwasa was last december and Solar, who was the boxer in this video is my bias had her solo in March. They are fabulous singers and dancers . Please do the MV egotistical and the live Killing voices. They are the BTS of girl groups, so different and above all the rest. I am truely surprised they have not been promoted in the west. They are real women who don’t have to pretend to be sexy or cute because they are naturally sexy and cute.
If you dig deeper into them you'll come across something like the following in the comments : "if you love Mamamoo raise your hands, if you don't you should raise your standards"
Do they sing live? Ah man, are you in for a surprise. Not only are they great live, they are even better than in the studio because although all 4 of them are introverts and actually rather shy... they freaking own any stage they get on because they give their all when in front of a crowd.
Their first gig only had 3 audience members (friends and family). Their first full solo concert sold 6,200 seats (= the venue) in less than 60 seconds.
Almost forgot, each of the 4 members are successful solo artists, that's how freaking awesome they are.
Absolutely recommend you watch killing voice!!!! Mamamoo are insanely good at harmonizing and you can really appreciate their skills and the texture of their voices when in the stripped down setting! Like BTS they started from a smaller company and had to fight to get where they are today, and their passion and dedication really shows in their craft. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to Stan a group the way I do BTS, but Mamamoo probably comes closest- it’s impossible not to respect their talent and enjoy their music!
Edit: Forgot to leave suggestions! I like their poppier music, but I LOVE their slower R&B or even ballad type songs. Besides Killing Voice which is a live compilation, I recommend Starry Night, Star, Wind, Flower, Sun, and Piano Man!

Oh yes, my wife Moonbyul!!! She is the greatest rapper girl out there and she is in charge of the lyrics of their albums too!!! Now i recommend you to watch one of their stages that in my personal opinion just shows the greatest of them in vocals: from the show "Immortal Songs" you can watch "Delilah", "Passion Flower" and "Wonderful Confession" just to get a little spoon of sugar from them before you can watch their MV's ! and if you watch their songs, i recommend you to watch since the MV debut "Mr. Ambiguous" 🤍🤍🤍

Moonbyul (also “Moonstar”), the rapper, originally trained as a vocalist and her coach expected her to debut as a main vocal in a group. But in Mamamoo she was asked to drop that and become the rapper. For a few years she lost her confidence in her vocals, but more recently she has been singing much more, with a gorgeous alto voice. Her vocal training background comes through in her rapping, where she deploys a very wide range of styles, including a heart-melting style of melodic rap. Her “girl crush” level is off the scale.
Solar is their leader. She’s the one playing rock guitar and wearing the split colour outfits. She is famous for her extremely powerful belting voice, and recently sang the title role in a Korean stage musical, Mata Hari. She has phenomenal vocal control and musicality in the quieter registers too. She originally was at university to train to be a flight attendant, but a street karaoke contest set her on the path to be a singer. She failed 40+ auditions before signing with RBW (mainly for being “too old” by K-pop standards).
Wheein (playing drums, and painting) is the second-youngest, and my bias in this group (although the others are all bias-wreckers). She has an absolutely gorgeous voice, with clear beautiful belting as well as a softer breathy tone that she uses in ballads. She is often the funniest and quickest-witted of the four (although the competition is high) and the most fluid dancer (you can see it in the details). She signed with a different company in 2021 as a solo artist, but remains with RBW for Mamamoo group activities.
Hwasa (sitting with the little girl, and spitting at the screen) has an incredible tone colour in her voice. A lot of Mamamoo songs start with her, if the song is looking to immediately set a sexy or dangerous mood. She has received a lot of criticism for not meeting Korean beauty standards, but she famously responded by telling herself “if I can’t meet this generations standards, I will become my own new standard”. And she did it. She is probably the most famous internationally, with her song “Maria” and many invitations to be a fashion model. She is also a great rapper, and rapped quite a lot in their early era.
The other magic thing is when you learn that the two youngest members, Wheein and Hwasa, became best friends on the first day of middle school, in the town of Jeonju in the south of Korea. They sang together at karaoke and school concerts, and shared the same dream of becomingg singers. At age 15/16, they moved to Seoul to pursue that dream, and eventually debuted togther as half of Mamamoo.

There are four members, all vocalists and in the order of their starting positions in the MV - Moonbyul, Hwasa, Solar, Wheein.
All of us fans are called Moomoo's which in korean means radishes lol It's adorable. They share so many commonalities with BTS and have had many good interactions with them in the past so the groups fandoms tend to support each other and celebrate each others accomplishments. Mamamoo leads the way in KPOP in showing love and support to the LGBTQ+ community and they all have active solo RUclips channels except for Hwasa.

In my opinion Moonbyul, the rapper from Mamamoo and Seoyeon from (G)I-dle, are the two best female rappers in Kpop. Jessie, is probably up there to round out the top 3 as well. (For me) Moonbyul is also good friends with BTS’ Jin, and they were born in the same year. Other Mamamoo songs I love: Egotistic, Starry Night, Dingga, Aya, Destiny
CL is still the best female rapper in kpop with Moonbyul second. I don't rate Soyeon in the top five as she has an annoying nasally tone and doesn't change her flow or cadence enough. LE from EXID is my pick for third best and Jessi at number four.

The MAMAMOO members(as of 2020) are among some of the most-credited idols in K-Pop. Moonbyul actually has the most songwriting credits of all 3rd generation female idols (at 65 credits for this artical, but at 111 as of 2023), since she writes her own raps in almost all of the group’s songs.
