Well, that was quite a lead off. Nice 87 in old livery and than a 397 and Avanti 390 with the best background imaginable. That led to a nice mix of locations at the station, inside and out, day and evening. Excellent mix of trains, environment, and location. Something for everyone is this one especially. Cheers!
an excellent video Les some amazing shots/ footage out there in the countryside well done the 86/87s brought back some memories of my all nighters at Catlisle back in the 70/80s awesome Les thanks for sharing take care a t b👍 syd
Great view at the first location. Really hard to find places where you can follow a train a long distance these days with all the trees. Seeing the return in Carlisle brought back good memories of when they were on almost every train.
Thanks Kev. Its like that most of the way from the border towards Carstairs. But of course its finding where there is no vegetation at lineside. I did go up to between Beattock and the summit but the railway is bordered by the inevitable silver birch and in a narrow path alongside the river, the B road (former A74) and A74M with all the associated noise. There may be a high viewpoint but I;d need to explore.
Lovely way to begin and end the video Leslie with the electrics..(except for that bloke waving his arms up and down)..duh! Great shots out in the countryside with the hills etc,. Great stuff. All the best.
Glad you enjoyed it Tim. Yes you always get one. I assume you missed the disappearing lad midway through - where I cut out him climbing into the 66 cab before realising his rucksack was too wide!
Yes I didn't want to reveal the lad struggling to climb into the cab (the rucksack on his back was wider than the doorway)! Can't get the driver in trouble!
On the lane from the big refuse site to Rockcliffe. Black Rigg Farm. Its a good spot - especially in summer when you can see the evening freights or morning when the Millerhill and Grangemouth freights are passing on the lines to the yard.
Nice video leslie very good camera work as usual I am really looking forward to seeing your next video I hope you get a nice video next time also when is your next video going to be on RUclips bye for now Philip
There is not a finer sight on British Railways than a Class 86 or 87 in front of a rake of coaches. Pendolinos and class 7xx and 8xx just don't have the pizzazz.

Definitely good to see them where they were designed to be! Thanks for watching
A lovely spot for the first sequence near Wamphray. I see the ghost of the Citadel is still active (7.56)!!
Yes I didn't want to reveal the lad struggling to climb into the cab (the rucksack on his back was wider than the doorway)! Can't get the driver in trouble!
There is something magical about the West Coast Mainline Beyong Lancaster to Glasgow.

I agree a locomotive does make it.
