  • Join us this week as I learn to DIY tune our rigging on our 40ft sail boat.
We noticed that our leeward lower/ intermediate shrouds were very saggy when sailing upwind in 20 knots. After doing some research I realised this was less than ideal and is something we should address sooner rather than later.
So I set about tuning our rigging, pre-tensioning the cap shrouds and backstay.
Let us know how we got on, and whether this was remotely useful to you!
This is definitely not a how to video, it is just me following a book, and trying to share my experience of tuning the rig as a total amateur.

I like your comment about an electric winch for you halyard.
We have electric furling on Genoa and main, electric outhaul on main, Genoa sheet winches are electric……must admit we get index finger exercise putting sails out and in, and reefing! 🤣😂
    Mizzen is manual though😊
