Thanks for posting this video! Thinking about applying for this coming round 1 or round 2, and I’m trying to find as many resources as possible. Great video.
Hi, Great video! Really helped me gather my thoughts well. I plan to apply to Cornell Tech MBA and NYU Tech MBA. Would be great if you could tell a little about your NYU interview experience. TIA
Hi @Ekta kumar. I will be applying to Cornell for fall 2024. Is there any chance you could guide me with the "fit" and "culture" in Cornell and Ithaca in general as a current student? Thanks :)
Sure, awesome to hear that! One of the main things that Cornell focusses on in terms of fit and culture, is making sure that you are a team player. There is a large sense of community at Cornell. Huge emphasis on making sure that people fit into the community at Cornell. So include that in your essay (based off of your experiences of course!)
Hi Ekta! I'm currently in the process of applying for Cornell. congratulation on getting in :) do you mind telling me a little bit more about the forte fellowship? did you apply via forte or is it a part of Cornell scholarships?
So, I received the Cornell Forte Fellowship as a part of my admission to Cornell. There was no separate form, I believe they provide you with some amount if you’re a woman and based on your tuition needs.
Hello, I got GMAT waiver for 2 year MBA program in Cornell. But I am scared about my application like it will get selected or not..... i will get interview call or it will be kept on waiting list. I really not sure. I have given by best in my application to describe me, my life and my professional life (full time 5 yr work ex in MNC) and i am also managing a youtube channel. Can you please tell me what are the chances of acceptance in my case for admission or for interview ?
Hey, first of all, don’t worry you’re doing a great job! Applying is a really hard thing for a lot of people to do and I’m really glad that you’re trying to apply yourself. Second of all, I think with interviews it’s about your personality more than anything, I can’t tell you for sure what your chances are with the a GMAT waiver and the work experience, but I hope that you do get in. Best of luck! 😀
Awesome video, really helped me gather my thoughts on how to prepare my application for the upcoming cycle! If you don’t mind me asking, what was your GPA? My GRE score is slightly lower than yours but I have a strong GPA (I think) so that would help me access my odds. Congrats on getting in!
So my GPA was a 7.3/10 because I went to a university in India (BITS Pilani). I’m not sure exactly what that would be in a 4.0 scale. According to WES evaluation, it’s about a 3.1 on a 4.0 scale. However, if you feel your GPA is strong but have a low GRE, you should apply! You can also request a GRE waiver if you feel like you’re application is stronger without it. Good luck!
@@athena2597 i m not from a good tier 1 college ,from a average engg score ,but my extracurriculars in college, research papers ,so gmat is good for mba or gre for joint degress like mpp/mba or ms/mba
Hi, so work experience is necessary because when you’re in classes you need to be able to participate fully. The more work experience you have, the more you can provide insight on case studies and assignments etc.
Hi, and thanks for watching! I would say that the GRE has more weightage than the GPA when applying to business school. The GRE is more standardized. But that being said, I think that the overall application process is very holistic.
Thank you so much for watching, it’s taken me a couple of videos to not feel so awkward on camera lol. You can always connect with me on Insta or LinkedIn!
Hey! Loved your video. I’m planning on applying for mba at Cornell and wanted to ask you how’s the financial aid department for graduate international student? Do they provide any help and if yes then to what extent?
So, for financial aid - you'll have to take a loan from the various student loan organizations in the US. Cornell only offers a scholarships with your admission letter. They don't have any separate scholarships that you can apply for.
Hi I'm Utkal. I did my engineering from Odisha University of Technology and Research. It's a state government University. But doesn't fall under category of tier 1 universities. Will it affect my application?
Hey Utkal! Thanks for watching, so the rank of your university is not that important of a factor as compared to the rest of your application. Your short term, long term goals and the story you tell to connect all of these things matter a lot more than the university you went to. Hope this helps!
There are people here who have just started to do their MBA out of undergrad. But I would recommend some more work experience, in terms of the scores I would look towards the average scores of the schools you want to apply to and score ideally in that range. Hope this helps!
REALLY INFORMATIVE video. Thanks for sharing information. Can you please confirm whether you have taken any help from consultancy for SOP & LOR. Can you share any good consultancy name
So I didn’t really use a consultant! I did mostly look stuff up on GMAT club or on the web and now I’m trying to compile this stuff for everyone online!

Came from r/MBA and thanks for sharing! I'll apply for this FT program this year. Hope I can be admitted and all the best for your journey at Johnson!

Do we need work experience? Cause I do not go anywork and also I had one year a gap!
@sharmilys2210 you do some work experience before you apply. But there are some people who have applied straight out of undergrad

They do have multiple scholarships like a Forte scholarship for women and a Park scholarship.

Of course, but you have to work on your story and essay. Also a good interview is essential.

You should consider taking the GMAT or the GRE before you try to evaluate your chances.
You didn't need to do toefl or ielts?
I didn’t write the TOEFL because my university was a recognized English language institution.
