salam Faraz how are you? got a question. can i pu the whole 20gb ish files into one usb? not sure how to proceed. was able to update another bmw a few years ago but that was broken down into 4 usbs/dvds.
Salaam Faraz, thank you for this. I retrofitted CIC to my E91 however the code I generate simply does not work. The 1b file has the vin and looks okay to me while looking in a hex editor. Is there anything that I might be doing wrong? Thank you
Salaams it seems like the vin is different on the CIC system itself. It can be done but I actually don't know myself. It's been a few years since I had my e90. Yours will have an emulator installed i would have thought. I had the same problem could do other people's cars but not my own because it was retrofit. One guy use to do it for me in london but he's gone to Romania now.

As far as i know the method with USB in the glovebox only works for the CIC High (Professional 609). With CIC Mid (Business 606) you cant get the b1 file like that. I found a tutorial and will try on my own the next week.
CIC uses premium maps. Next is for newer idrives and route has a smaller screen. If you go to your map screen press options then version you can see which map you need/have

If you can connect to esys via cable I can put a video up on how to get the 1b file through e-sys software but it's much easier just put the 1b file on usb. Drop an email if you need anything
Hi i have the problem with it my navigation is not active its gray and if you click on it it shows that the this option is not availeable at the moment it doesnt load up how could i get this 1b file then can you help mi in it? thank you!
Can't think of any reason for it unless it's been changed. The 1b file is for the cic premium maps idrive. You may need to get someone to code it to your car as it may have been swapped from a different car.

why don't work with my usk stick ? I try 2-3 usb new but don't make a hex file 😢
Fat 32 format you should try a 32gb stick or less of you have one. Also make sure car is on try driving it while usb inside sometimes takes time.

How long does it take for the system to write a file named .hex to the USB?
It's a real time video sir maybe 10 seconds but I kept it a bit longer to be safe.

So i have f10 2011 with CIC unit.Want to update PREMIUM maps, do i also need to create 1b file as in video? Or can i do it via VIN number in esys?
