The Jealousy Mask or The Mask of Envy is a purely cosmetic item thats given to Yggdrasil players whom dont have romantic partners who log in the game during christmas eve
Shalltear is a good example of a META warrior-caster hybrid build. Both at close or long ranges, be that AoE or single target, her damage output is good in almost every situation. Her EhP is enourmous, and it's boosted byth by her own regenerative abilities, as well as by her weapon's special skill synergised with her minion summoning ability. On top of that she has the ability to create a double of herself AND she had an item which allowed her to resurrect once if she died, so you have to beat her TWICE.
Just for comparison sake; In Yggdrasil, being a level 100 player doesn't guarantee having a Divine Class Item. It was very common to not have a single divine class item for many lvl 100 players because of how rare this class of item is. And yet Ainz full gear are all divine class items. Shows you how rich he is in treasures. Also since we are talking about items here is the rank from highest to lowest. *1. World Class Items* - grants a status effect that makes the wearer immune to the effect of other world items. ex. - Throne of Kings(the throne that Ainz sits on in Nazarick) - Ainz's Red Orb(its the reason he didn't take a world item for himself when he went to Pandora, he already has one) *2. Artifact Class Items* - cannot be crafted by players but the strongest ones are just behind World Items. *2. Guild Weapons* - depends on the materials used to construct it so it could be weaker but the strongest of them are just below world class items, some allegedly even equal to one(Staff of Ainz Ooal Gown). Also destroying a guild weapon auto disbands the guild so they are usually guarded and kept inside the guild base. (The 2 above competes for 2nd Place) *3. World Champion Items* - gifted to the players with World Champion job class that you earn by winning a tournament. Actually slightly weaker than the strongest of the guild weapons but much rarer(only 9). ex. Touch Me's White Armor. *4. Divine Class Item/God Level Items* - Very very rare. ex. - personal weapons of many of the AOG guild members(those weapons used by Ainz against Shalltear) - Ring of Ainz Ooal Gown *5. Legendary Class Items* - Most common highest class of gear for the majority of level 100 players. ex. Shalltear's Red Armor *6. Relic Class Items* *7. Legacy Class Items* *8. Top Class Items* *9. High Class Items* *10. Middle Class Items* *11. Low Class Items*
Ainz may be ignorat when it comes to the politics and overarching startegems, But the dude is an expert tactician and brilliant PVP player. Also a Sad fact about Ainz - In the year 2138 real world where its a dystopian hellscape with Mega Cooperations running the world with no regard for human life or environment, Ainz's (real name - Suzuki Satoru) dad abandoned him and his mom when he was a little kid. His mom had to work overtime to provide for him and one day after long shift, she came home, prepared his favorite meal and died on the spot from exhaustion. He grew alone and as an outcast from society from then onwards. This is one of the major reasons why he doesn't try to get back to the real world.
aw, poor guy. and yeah, the more i find out about the world he lives in IRL the more it makes sense that he wouldn't really care if he never got back there.
His world is also why several things he sees do not affect him as much. Sure most of it might be his undead class, but living in a world where worker protections are not a thing and you can't leave without a gas mask due to pollution, you sure don't develop the same sensibilities we do. Less so when your mother dies making your birthday cake and eating crickets is the equivalent of eating meat as a treat. A reason why he is not all "everyone should have all the education they want" and more like "in a business you have to properly reward productive behavior and communicate properly with your subordinates".
one thing also not mentioned in the video is that Ainz' character was never intended to be the strongest - it is just a roleplay build, as the Ruler Of Death. his main strength as mentioned, is _how_ he uses his powers and his strategies, etc etc
That wish ring can buff Ainz beyond imagination if he uses it properly, but I think author is purposefully avoiding it to don`t make story just about power ups, since the first time the ring appeared we learned that he can steal talents with it, and some talents are really broken. Talents range from walking on water for 5 seconds to Absorbing ANY attack and using it yourself, and Yes someone absorbed a world item level attack with it.
oh my god, that's baller. i hope we see more talents in the future of the show tbh. we haven't seen a lot of them, and i feel like it's been a while since we've seen one at all.
I highly recommend the Overlord cd audio dramas, they're extras from the overlord Blu-ray discs that are mostly canon stuff that happened, and other fun stuff as well and I hope you eventually get to the cut content episodes of Aninews for overlord as well.
The scary thing is that Ainz is still looking to grow stronger. A good example of how much his power had grown over the course of the show is simply to compare how his magic pool aura thing appears during his fight with Shalltear and then what it looks like when confronting four of the people he lured into Nazarick. So despite being broken and preferring information and strategy, he appears to still be gaining power.
@@Jr837_ there would've been no reason to alter something you've only ever shown once before. Especially not so dramatically if nothing about it has changed. And since Ainz himself made it absolutely clear he wants to strengthen himself and Nazarick, it only lends further credence to it not just being about budget.
No. The Ainz of volume 1 is the same (powerwise) of the Ainz of volume 16. He didn't get any stronger. He's looking fot ways to grow, but he didn't level up or anything like that.
@@delsintm691as someone who has never read the novels, manga or whatever, I'll accept this argument from someone who probably has. Which begs the question: is it POSSIBLE for him to develop further in the New World?
@@Shalltear773 Possibly if he uses a world item, or if he uses [Wish upon a star]. When Ainz used [Wish upon a star], he felt that he could steal Nfirea's talent, so he could get some useful talents. Or if he comes upon a player's corpse he could use [Dark Wisdom] to learn the corpse's spells.
I don't know if it was just on my side, but the aninews vid was so low volume that I had to increase the overall of the vid, but then, when Lauren talked, it just created an earthquake due to how load she was by comparison, yeah...
I think one of the funniest things about Overlord is that within the confines of the series Ainz is basically an absolute unkillable god, but within the broader isekai genre Ainz is actually *extremely* weak for a protagonist.
Ah Demiurge, the expert torturer, rapist and right hand man of our boy and dictator Ainz, is getting center stage here in this film. Hopefully they don't censor too much from the books, as this arc is currently in my top three in the entire Overlord series. But given the anime's track record I'm not expecting much. We'll see.

Oh my god it makes kinda sense that why you need to log in for certain amount of time on Christmas to get it cause you got no one to spend with hahaha

wow. that's awesome. I can't wait until I get to her episode of this playlist!
Her particular build is also the reason why she’s been referred to as being the strongest guardian in terms of combat.

Iirc, it’s not any attack that talent can absorb, just spells. Superb nonetheless though.

I might do a mix of cut content and background info from AniNews tbh. I find both interesting.

it could also just be differences in budget/animation...

Didn't know you had an channel that was separate from Chicago Reacts, love these Anime Reactions. Subbed. 😊

7:07 Zesshi xD (lvl 88)
Lauren, important question: who has a better outfit Albedo or Shalltear?
ooh. that's a good one. both are excellent. i guess the one I'd wear is probably Shalltear's though.
