Theres a special month in islam, its called "Ramadhan"..in ramadhan, we have to fast..in my country, from 5:55am till 7:20pm we fast...idk about other country..
No, its not long..for non muslim, if you think you will not survive, just try eat at the morning and wait till 7:00pm...and it will prove you will survive or not :)
If you accidently drink or eat, its okay..your fast will not break
Here some haram things you cant do or your fast will break:
1. Eat
2. Drink
3. Insert something in your nose too deep
4. Insert something in your ear too deep
5. Have s3x
6. Vomit(its okay if its an accident)

Puberty is the time in life when a boy or girl becomes sexually mature. It is a process that usually happens between ages 10 and 14 for girls and ages 12 and 16 for boys(from google)
If the women got her first period, that mean she already puberty
If the men dream about..em..(idk what they dream about :])
That mean they already puberty
A person who is puberty, they cant leave pray 5 times a day and not fasting with no reason or they will got sin
So, if you already puberty, for men, they cant not fasting without reason..or they will got sin
And its the same for women...
And for men and women who dont fast(with reason or without reason), they need to replace their fast after ramadhan(and thats why people said being a girl is hard :])

If you un purposely drink water, it’s fine. You are still fasting as it’s not in purpose, because if you do it without knowing or in mistake, it’s not really a big of a deal.
edit: If you accidentally drink/eat anything, Allah made you forget that you can’t eat or drink yet, so it is a blessing from Allah.

For those who don't know, for us Muslims, each year there's an event called Ramadan. In it, we fast every day for a month by not eating or drinking from sunrise until sunset (or Fajir till Maghreb). After we finish fasting we have a big feast with our family members and send food to our neighbors, friends, and workers nearby. We can skip fasting if we're sick or if we get our menstruation cycle, but we must fast for the amount of days we've missed during ramadan before the next ramadan starts to make up for the days we've missed fasting! Hope this was helpful ❤

for the people who don't know what Amira was doing she was getting prepared to pray because when she drank the water she was going to spit it out because that is a part of the preparation process and this was happening in "Ramadan" a yearly event that lasts for a month where you can't eat drink or even lick your finger to prove that you are a muslim I know that this was pointless to point out but I just did it for the people who didn't understand the meme
edit:it doesn't last for the entire day it lasts from the morning to 7pm because you would die of starvation or dehydration if you can't eat or drink for a month

If you accidentally drink or eat something, it is okay. If you did it on purpose you can't fast another day.
- If you got period you can't fast
- if you got sick you can't fast
- if you throw up during fasting you can't fast anymore
Well you still can fast when your not really that sick and you also can still fast when you accidentally throw up

fasting lasts up until the sunset prayer, Maghrib. Just means we break it at sunset which would be around 7:40 today.
There are specific times to fast. For example, during Ramadan. You have to fast 30 days in a row. I like fasting outside of Ramadan tho, so I fast every Monday and Thursday. Also, you have the choice whether to fast or not if you haven't hit puberty yet, but after that you have to, from what i've been told.

That might have happened to me once or twice during fasting but with water you can actually drink not from the tap I was quite forgetful during fasting so I might have drank on accident and such but somehow able to remember dreams I had like years ago quite weird but I should stop here now.🙂

If you accidentally eat or drink while fasting you can still continue fasting because it means Allah (S.W.T.) fed you but if you do it on purpose then your fast doesn't count

So when fasting, you cant eat and drink for a certain amount of time. Before praying, muslims do this thing called "wudu" they start off by putting water in their mouth and spit it out. When the girl was doing that, someone pushed her and she choked on water, making it go down her throat.

I heard somewhere that if you're on your period, pregnant, or very sick you don't have to fast? Just wondering if that was true cause I don't know much about Islam and my parents are super Christian and like to make out Islam to be super restrictive and inhumane but I've been reading little bits about it and it seems it's really not as bad as they make it out, when my dad talked about Muslims fasting he made it sound like you couldn't eat or drink AT ALL for 30 days no matter what.
No... what? I've heard that they just don't eat or drink from morning to 7pm. It'd be ridiculous to not eat nor drink for a month. You'd certainly die. Islam is not very restrictive from what I've heard either, and women are treated well (even if people say they're oppressed or whatever because they CHOOSE to wear hijab.)
@@lexilou8504 exactly at midnight(3 or 4am) we come downstairs to eat and everything and we can’t eat or drink anything until 7pm and then we have a big feast so basically we eat before and after the fast.

basically you start your fast with suhoor, a meal that you should eat around an hour before fajr time which is 5:30 for me but your fast starts as soon as its fajr time, and it ends at maghrib time which is around 5:07 for me, during that time you cant eat or drink, unless you forgot about your fast. Then at maghrib, you have another meal called iftar to break your fast.

Yes its true, if your on your period you don’t need to fast. All though, once ramadan is over and your period is finished then your gonna have to make up for the loss of fasting in winter.

I’m generally curious when I ask this because I don’t know but what if your fasting and then like you get in an accident and while your at the hospital they like give you fluids cus you need them of something like that, or if your diabetic and you need some sugar, would eating/drinking something then be wrong?

If you have a sickness, you can't fast, then you can make it up by donations. Also, if you _have to or accidentally_ have fluids or some food, it's okay.

i’m a muslim on antibiotics, so it’s not an obligation to fast for me. We also have these qaza fasts i think- where you can fast after eid to compensate the fasts that you have missed, if you have diabetes it’s quite a risk to fast, it depends on the type of diabetes you have

Here's 3 of my opinions about Muslims kind of off topic I understand but here is are my 3 opinions
1st: Muslims stand out, I rarely see a Muslim in my country (Philippines) but I saw some before and I found Muslims very beautiful I'm amazed by how they dressed!
2nd: They are literally so kind, I saw videos where they film a social experiment and I'm so shocked that almost all of the people helped him! I'm so amazed that they are that kind!
3rd: I literally are shocked because when I learned about what Muslims do and their history in school I was very amazed on things they do
As a Catholic I respect and are fine with Muslims also with other religions I'm fine with them as long as they don't judge or mock our religion...

Most of my Muslim friends drank water throughout Ramadan because they all kept fainting (I know they weren’t meant to but I think they made up for it at the end by doing an extra day or two)
If anything bad happens to them in ramadan they have to stop because fainting can sometimes be serious

@@sourfar good! Cuz when I wake up, my throat feels dry as hell and it hurts. Since I’m fasting, a I can’t drink water. So the only way to end that pain is to swallow my spit a few times. 😭

There's 1 girl in my class that wears hijab, but drinks, smokes and goes to clubs. Once I told her that she can take her hijab off freely if she'll continue doing that and she said that's not haram (sin). if you're affected by going just some hours without drinking water this means you most likely dont hydrate yourself very well on a daily basis. if it does severely affect you then yes, you can drink water im pretty sure
I similar thing happend to me, I'm a Muslim if you couldn't tell, anyway I was in the class room the last one in the room because I had to gather all my books as I have so many, I'm very prepared, anyway I got thirsty and drank some water, and iat was fasting time, anyway another Muslim came in and saw me and told my Muslim friend, my friend confronted me asking "why are you not fasting?" then I replied with "GIRL I'M ON MY PERIOD" we were in the girls locker room BTW and no one was in there so it was perfect
I was expecting :"it's my time of the month..."
I honestly forgot about that😂
Though if she really on her period she wouldn't be shock👍🏻

This is completely right but if she was on her period she doesn't have to fast and if she hasn't had her period yet she can eat and if she's sick and if she can't fast for reasons so it is alright in some circumstances I hope everyone understands and she could've drank that when we wake up to eat before fasting so this doesn't make sense
In my school they are so muslims and some of them are my friends so I know this tradition (no alot but a little 😅) they told me that they can't eat or drink for 5:00 a.m to 7:00 p.m and just pray a lot (that's why some of them they don't come usually, especially when we have sports, 'cause they can't drink water so they usually don't come a lot to class :^) and they told me that *Ramadah* (I don't know how to write it 😅) is just for 40 days :^ it is true?

wait, so does fasting also include not drinking any liquids? Because although I understand where that idea would have come from historically and culturally (Islam's region of origin was incredibly dry, ergo the need to conserve water), that's actually kind of dangerous, if not managed correctly. I mean, don't get me wrong, one day won't kill you, but you'll be severely dehydrated, something made even worse by not eating too (sorry if I am wrong and Muslim fasting doesn't work like how I'm thinking it does, I'm just a curious secular atheist who wants to know more, and also wants people to remain safe and healthy. Sorry if my question/concern comes off as arrogant or ignorant, I just genuinely don't know as much about Islam - or most religions in general - as I'd like to).

Other religions fast differently
you cant eat and drink until sunset,l know it has been spoken but there are certain periods you don’t need to fast occasionally,like at night or really early at the morning.
Prayer fasting lol if you don't know what prayer fasting is uhm you don't get to eat you only drink (in are religion) I'm a born again Christian and to Muslims prayer fasting is different its actually no eating and drinking.
