So they limit the cubic inch of the engines allowed in this class so everyone makes close to the same power, alky or diesel , the difference is alky power makes it almost instantly at the line and that makes more wheel speed faster, diesels take longer to get there but are at max power at the end where you really need it, so that’s the reason some go the ally route, they are great at pulling indoor or a shorter track 300’ or less they shine, and another huge reason is price!!! Light limited super stock alky engine bout $50,000 and same engine setup but a diesel 😂that’s $80-$100,000 if you want the best,so price has a lot to do with it nowadays . Hope that helped 👍
I should also tell you the alky tractors are diesel’s but they’re converted to run on alcohol, meaning, diesel block with aftermarket heads spark plugs etc.. that’s why they sound the way they do 👍
@burtbrooks7731 Thanks. I ran with a guy who built an IH 1468, V-8 ,converted to alcohol, with custom made aluminum heads, MSD box to control the spark, with 2 turbos, when it ran ,it ran great, he had issues with it leaning out, and at high RPM's it would break rocker arms, which are extremely long on that engine. This was 40 some years ago, way ahead of it's time.
The sled cam is great!
Great pulling action! Too bad so many empty seats.
Are you watching in person?
Does alcohol make more H.P. than diesel?

@burtbrooks7731 thank you. That explains a lot.
