Thank you for addressing negativity around certain signs ❤ My teenage son is a Capricorn sun, you just described his personality perfectly. He is a beautiful soul, naturally conservative in nature, intelligent, reliable, a deep thinker and incredibly funny! Every family needs the energy of a Capricorn 😊

Wonderful stuff, Adam. Excuse me while I share a little story. I'm a Capricorn Sun and my first encounter with an astrologer was at a cocktail party my mother was having. The astrolger was asking people to tell her their sun signs and she would offer up interpretations and advice. Little 10-year old me was enthralled so I rushed over full of enthusiasm and proudly said "I'm a Capricorn!" The astrologer looked at me, rolled her eyes, groaned loudly and coldly said "That's a shame." I was shocked & heartbroken. Had no way to process it and the drunk adults in the room just giggled and went on their merry way. I never forgot that moment. It put me off astrology for years but I slowly came back to it and I'm happy to say that I just got my first year certificate after studying with you (I was in the 22 year class but had to put my studies on hold for a bit). I suspect it was your Capricorn Moon that drew me to your program. So grateful for your wisdom & humor! On a side note - love the tee and appreciated The Grateful Dead references. I was acquainted with Jerry Garcia and friendly with Robert Hunter (the band's lyricist). Both were incredibly nice and amazingly talented down to earth people. When Jerry died I was living near the Grateful Dead headquarters and it was humbling and deeply moving to watch the waves of mourners come and go. Such a beautiful demonstration of love and appreciation. I've come to associate funeral rituals that conserve and protect memories of the dead with Capricorn.

My 10 yr old son has a stellium in Cap: Sun, Mars, Mercury (R) and Pluto. Omg. He is so stubborn. He is immovable. So headstrong. I know someday he will harness this power and be great in whatever he chooses to do. But as an aquarius sun and my other son is gemini sun (we have an ease between us), my little cappy is so challenging to parent. But boy does he have charm. Omg. The merc retro makes him not communicate so he is very brooding and internal. He doesn't have a lot to say which makes him even more tricky to understand and navigate. Aries moon too so he is a powerhouse. He is very creative and very smart. But he won't move unless he WANTS to move. Omg. ❤
I always say that cappys will always make sure the bills are paid, there is gas in the car and the house repairs are taken care of. And in my opinion their sarcastic sense of humor tops them all. My cappy son is hilarious and so sarcastic. They are great people to have on your team. Steadfast and reliable!

As someone who has a Capricorn stellium and an Aries moon, I feel like my mom could have written this about me when I was a kid 🤣 the whole not moving unless you want to… totally relate to that. It’s really important for us to discover things on our own even if our way is the hardest way possible. It will make everyone around us confused and frustrated but it’s necessary for us to do it that way. My mom had to really just let go with me and let me figure things out on my own because I wouldn’t give her any other choice.

My youngest is a dual Capricorn. I have many friends that are also Capricorn's. I have noticed and appreciate their dedication in life to whatever they put their minds to. Emotionally I think they find it hard to express their true emotions, with my son I always try to have him look at situations from a different prospective, and yes we always add humor. They are some of the funniest ppl I have ever met. As a Scorpio myself, I find them extremely similar in thought as we are. One thing for sure....you will always know where you stand with a Capricorn! Thanks Adam!

I always love your podcast, but this is the first one I actually had to pause and process the intensity of the emotional wave that came over me around 8:10 after you read the etymology of the word “conservative”.
In my chart I have in Capricorn: sun/south node at 4°, Ceres at 6°, Venus at 16°, Lilith at 20°, Mercury at 23°, and Juno at 27°.
And as you spoke to, I have always been frustrated by the stereotype of Capricorn/Saturn as representative of the Patriarchy. Not just because I don’t identify with that, but because I feel like being in active opposition to Patriarchal structures is one of very few consistencies in my character ego death after ego death (there are many-Scorpio rising, sun/south node, etc.).
As soon as you read that about conservatism I was overcome with a massive breakthrough in understanding-this is just it. I am here to preserve, protect, embody, and advocate for *feminine energy itself*-including and *especially* the dissolution of egoic structures.
SO. MUCH. finally makes sense right now. Thank you, Adam. 🙏🏼

Only makes me love and appreciate my long-suffering sweetie (sun, moon, Mars in Cap) more. My partner is so patient, enduring, and sensible, yes, but he’s also an initiator (cardinal), an energetic powerhouse, and the best activity partner! Who can match an Aries on a hike or a bike ride? A Capricorn. The Capricorn archetype, like all of them, exists in a melange of other archetypes too. With some Taurus thrown in (he’s a Taurus rising), you also get someone who knows how to sink into their senses and slow down.

Oh man, major lightbulb moment! In number five, you discuss how being Saturn-ruled can sometimes manifest as a disassociation from the body. Although I am a Sag rising, I have Saturn in the first house with a Cancer moon in the eighth house. I have SUCH a hard time getting in touch with my body and what it needs. This explanation really helped me see my first-house Saturn from a completely different angle and shed new light on a topic I have struggled with my whole life. Thank you!

I have a 12 year old Capricorn with moon cancer and rising Pisces. You are so exact with so many aspects. Her dark humor makes me laugh. She is the most sensitive child I know but she almost tries too hard to ignore her own feelings. We worked hard with her and now she notices her own self care needs and loves holidays.

My moon, ascendant, & Jupiter (R) are conjunct in Cap and ruled by Saturn in Scorpio co-present w/Mars. This message was fantastic. #5, support self-care, resonated so much. The lesson I am learning now, at 38, in my self-care journey is that I am not selfish for taking care of my body.
“Everyone deserves ______.” (Clean water, a safe home, nutritious food)
    “Including me.”

I have a major Cap stellium in my 9th, + I wanted to share something my parents (both Cancer suns) helped me with. I really felt like they allowed me the space to explore my ancestral roots from a young age. They didn’t discourage my intense deep-dives or occasional hyper-fixation on “the past.” I didn’t realize this at the time, but connecting with my ancestors’ spiritual + folk practices really nourished me. I felt belonging there that I didn’t feel in ‘modern’ life. My parents didn’t see it as frivolous, + I’d say their own love for their roots + ancient history felt supportive to me. It was normal dinner convo fodder to mention ancestors + heritage.

My almost 60 years on our planet taught me that there is no independence but only inter-dependence. Everything is connected with everything, there are no islands, everything and everyone depend on something or someone else.
I've also learned that nothing and nobody can make me happy when I am not joyful within my being which is rooted in the alignment with my soul, and it makes me happy to share my joyfulness with others.
If my joy vanishes because another person acts or things happen in a way that I don't appreciate, it was only happiness that's dependent on external circumstances.
Looking forward to retrograde Venus in Leo deepening our innerstanding on this topic.

As a 6th house capricorn moon with saturn opposing it in cancer by degree I can agree 100/100. Both my parents are preachers and buisness people and they had me at 20 years old. I had to grow up way to fast and felt like a little soldier stuck in my family. Never felt like I was enough before later in my life and always felt like people didn’t care about my pain. Started drinking and smoking in my early teens without ever being presented to substances. My moon is conjuct chiron and all the pain, melancholy and loneliness transformed into a infinite source of strength. Life still continues on striking me but I feel so empowered that I can now be a source of wisdom and love for everyone.

You nailed it Adam! Capricorn sun, Aries rising - so yes, driven is a good descriptor for me 🙄😁. Thinking about the conserving qualities I have: language and grammar (don’t get me started on the use of an apostrophe!). I’m a gardener and can’t bear food waste, so I find recipes that use everything possible. Next challenge, learning to seed save. One of the traditions in my family is jam making and preserving - so I have homemade jams available in my Airbnb. I’ve lost count of the stories from guests who fondly remember their grandmother making a particular jam that they haven’t had since childhood. It’s a joy to be able to offer those moments of connection. 🥰 Love being a Capricorn! 🐐

Capricorn gets such a bad rap and I really want to hear more of the positive qualities to nurture in him, so thank you. Funny that you brought up Jerry, because we play Grateful Dead around here quite a bit and it always gets my son moving - hes only 16 months but he gets it :) Then it prompted me to look at Jerrys chart and what do you know, he is sun conjunct pluto too! Fun stuff, thank you!

In regards to step 2, about darkish themes. It's so funny because my grandma always talk about my brother (Capricorn sun) who at the time was like 4, and I was 5, and I was crying because my mom hadn't returned home yet and it was raining and I was scared she might've died in car accident and telling my grandma this, and my brother just says really plainly to "comfort me", "it's okay, we all die one day" 😂😂 and that's really him to this day.

Thank you this was such an insigtfull video. I do feel capricorns do get misunderstood because of their harsh sense of humour. My eldest son is double Capricorn with a lot of planets in Scorpio which makes him super cynical. He is only 7 years old but he already has a cynical sense of humour. Me and my husband we are just looking at each other when he starts making bitter remarks, he is such fun to be around and so sharp. I think that as parents we will have to teach him that it's ok to have fun sometimes. That life is not only work and duties.
