    THE construction of Light Rail Transit Line 2’s (LRT-2) West Extension project suffered another delay due to funding unavailability, according to the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA).
    According to the LRTA administrator theres no definite construction date has been set for the project as a result, with the rail line also lacking a multi-year obligational authority (MYOA), a prerequisite for budgeting works that take multiple fiscal years to complete. An MYOA signifies the government’s commitment to finance future requirements beyond the current budgeting period.
    The Department of Transportation said last year that it is hoping to begin the construction of the West Extension project in 2025.
    The project has secured P2 billion from the General Appropriations Act out of the nearly P11 billion estimated cost of the project,

Cabrera, LRTA administrator, no definite construction date has been set for the project as a result, with the rail line also lacking a multi-year obligational authority (MYOA), a prerequisite for budgeting works that take multiple fiscal years to complete. An MYOA signifies the government’s commitment to finance future requirements beyond the current budgeting period.
    The Department of Transportation said last year that it is hoping to begin the construction of the West Extension project in 2025.
    The project has secured P2 billion from the General Appropriations Act out of the nearly P11 billion estimated cost of the project, Mr. Cabrera said.
    The LRTA through the Transportation department has a pending MYOA request.
    “It is a domestically funded project. So what we are doing now is we have consultants now who are preparing the conceptual designs,” he said.
    The proposed LRT West Extension covers three kilometers from Recto Avenue station to Pier 4. This line will have three stations: Tutuban, Divisoria and Pier 4.
    The project also includes the procurement of additional light rail vehicles to meet growing passenger demand.
    Meanwhile The MRT 3 will find a new private company that will manage and operate after the build operate contract will end this year.

    Honestly mas okay na ma-privatize ang operations ng Line 3. If ever LRMC makakuha, pwede na nilang gawan ng paraan na tumawid yung mga train ng Line 1 at 3 tulad ng plano back in 2010. Dapat ma unify na as 1 line or gawing through operations.
    Walang pera gobyerno para asikasuhin mga rail infra natin dahil mas pabor sa kanilang magpa good points sa mga mahihirap. Okay kang din naman na si LRMC makakuha, maayos naman record nila sa Line 1, dapat lang willing mag bayad ang govt ng subsidy.

    Nasa AKAP (Ayuda) lahat ng pondo na para sana ay nasa infrastructure. Binawasan ang budget para sa mga politiko. Nakaka depress nangyayari sa Pilipinas kong mahal. 😔😔😔

    11Billion d makapaglabas pero sa ayuda na kulang 40 billion ang bilis nila iapprove tang inang gobyerno to kung alin mapapakinabangan at ikauunlad ng ekonomiya yun ang d ginagawa. Di namen kailangan ng ayuda nyo bigyan nyo sila ng trabaho ng d umaasa sa inyo gaya ng pag gawa ng infrastructure project gaya ng extension ng LRT mas maraming matutulungan yun hindi puro poorest of the poor na lang. Wala kasing will ang administrasyon na to kita mo common station hanggang ngayon hindi pa tapos. Ano ba sinabi nung bangag na mas priority nila ang railway pero bakit yun pa kulelat ngayon walang pondo. Hanggat nadedelay yan tumataas ang construction material d ba nag iisip ang nasa government walang utak yung secretary ngayon ng DOTr mas ok pa yung dating secretary. Tapos yung mrt 4 na pako na rin kasi walang pambayad sa right of way jusko kung ako sa DOtr secretary magreresign talaga ako kasi hindi ko magawa yung pangako nung bangag na gawing railway transportation ang bansa. Tapos nagbabalak kayo sa cebu ng railway e yung mga naunang project nga d nyo maumpisahan. Akala ko Build Better More yun pala Bangag Better More yung admin ngayon

      Nde priority yung Rizal kasi probinsya na siya at mataas na yung lugar. Ang need magawa ay ung sa Tutuban kasi once matapos yung NSCR, yun ang magdadagdag sa ridership ng LRT2.

      Malabo dahil busy intersection ang EDSA Taft nasa ground level ang tracks ng MRT-3 at napakadelikado matatamaan ang mga sasakyan ng overhead contact wires na 1,500V.

      @dennis12dec perhaps MRT-3 from MOA to Taft Ave can be an elevated concourse because for me this is better idea than the Monorail. Because many people are rushed to go to MOA for work and to get home from MOA easily and to avoid double Fare for many.
      Also others say, the line between Magallanes and Taft Ave should be elevated as well just to pass the Viaduct of LRT-1 in Edsa-Taft.

      @@ralphkenodelossantos1068 the reality is that it's not technically feasible, you'll just add the burden to the busiest intersection of EDSA and Taft Avenue also the additional costs and inconvenience to motorists and pedestrians alike.
