- Johnny Depp has taken over the news as social media recently with his defamation trial against Amber Heard in which he was found not guilty. The case uncovered a lot of unpleasantness on both sides so we decided to look at some decidedly more positive videos of Johnny Depp volunteering his time to visit sick children in hospital as his famous Pirates Of The Caribbean character Jack Sparrow.

The fist time he did this was cause his daughter was sick and he left the set still dressed as Jack to go check on her. The reactions oh the other kids made him want to do it more and more.

You can tell how much Johnny cares about kids, and why clearing his name was so important to him. Yes, it was for his own kids...but also for ALL kids.
Sometimes the most important thing that we have is our reputation.
Imagine Amber having the nerve to call his love for charity a "novelty" when he's been doing this for years.
A person like her would say that he's only doing it for good PR. I've never seen AH do anything like this for the CHLA which she claimed to be so passionate about.
@@mako3197 except he does it off camera too. if i remember correctly, multiple people have witnessed him doing stuff like this for kids off camera all the time. one in particular i remember is sharon osbourne saying she saw him kneeling on the ground for 45 minutes while a kid read their diary or something to him. it was just the 2 of them with sharon happening to observe and had nothing to do with publicity. meanwhile amber publicly says she donated to 2 charities and had the full divorce settlement money for 13 months before johnny sued her for defamation.

So and now think a little further what Amber has destroyed with her accusations. Not only did she do this to JD. This woman took that away from these children. This woman then has the audacity to say she would donate and did not.

I haven't see the second video of him visiting the children. it made so emotional the only thing that came to my mind was hate for Amber. What she has done to this man. I hate her with a passion..

His daughter Lily Rose almost died when she was young and in the hospital for a little while so that probably is another reason. He stayed by her side the entire time and after she got better and left the hospital he donated 2 million to that hospital in thanks and gratitude. I have always thought that he is a genuine great person and still do through all the shit that woman put him through.

Yeah Great Ormond Street Hospital in London, considered one of the top five childrens hospitals in the world. Fantastic hospital.
What happened to his daughter?
In the last clip, if you check out the full version, there’s actually an interview with the little girl at the end, and during that interview, the little girl asked what happened to his finger because it was bandaged. He made jokes about how he ate the tip of it because he was hungry. This video was Australia, 2015😢 For him to go out of his way to put smiles on the faces of these children in the hospital, when he himself was also hurting, kinda breaks my heart.💔
After he says he ate it, he adds that the nail was bad, ...now in the context of the abuse he suffered , my rage on AH has doubled
Yes you are all so right about the man that Johnny is. There are millions of women who would have gladly trade places with you for even just a day. My wife included! He doesn’t do this for any reason other than that he had a seriously sick child (Lily Rose) hospitalized while filming Pirates. So he went to visit his sick child instead of changing and realized his effect on sick and hospitalized children. How many actors do this for the joy he brings to children. Disneyland needs to help repair the damage to his reputation and theirs by doing something big. Can you hear me Disney ….I know Walt Disney himself would approve
Yep...& this was done while they were still together, still married to IT, so this wasn't a PR stunt to just make him look good.
After his first concert in London recently, he spent 45 minutes sitting on the floor backstage listening to a little boy reading to him. No cameras. No publicity. We would never have heard about that if Sharon Osbourne hadn't mentioned it in a sentence during an interview later. He's a troubled soul, but he has a very gentle heart when it comes to kids and animals.
As a father of a cancer patient you don't know how good it was to see the happy looks on these kids faces. My daughter LIVES for Captain Jack...well except shed probably poke him in the eye she's a little violent lol. This made me tear up but also makes me realize how fantastic a man Johnny Depp really is. Well done sir. I kinda forgot to put in that she's in remission now. I hope nobody thinks I misled anyone sorry! Also thank you for the well wishes yes my daughter is recovering but always nice to hear!

I have a daughter who was hospitalized 7 times from 8 years old to 19 years old. It's a very difficult situation to be in. I think it's wonderful that Johnny makes these appearances. It allows the kids to just be kids for a short amount of time.

I have followed Johnny's career since 21 Jump Street and have read and heard about his kind nature for years. He has given a street person who was sitting on a street choking on a piece of meet, the heimlich maneuver. He was not that familiar with the meuniver, but a friend with him told him right away what to do and he did it. He also gave this same man some money and then went into an eatery. I had also heard stories about him jumping in to save a few people at different times that had overdosed on drugs around the time he owned the Viper Room in LA. During filming of Pirates of the Caribbean, Johnny gifted hundreds of crew members with warm coats during production to make sure they were comfortable in the cold British weather. Johnny has also visited Australia's Queensland Children's Hospital with his Captain Jack Sparrow character as well. There is no end to this man's kindness which may partly come from the tough childhood he and his brothers and sisters endured.
To be honest it makes me even more mad, since you know he hasn’t been able to do this since the character was taken from him. So she not only stiffed them on the money she stole Johnny from the kids themselves. Reprehensible.
I heard that he still does this, even though Disney fired him. Johnny Depp is the one who made the character Jack Sparrow his own!

As a survivor, I can definitively say that these kind of visits are EXTREMELY helpful for children. When I was in the hospital we had Clowns, Star Wars characters, etc visit and all us kids felt overwhelmed with joy, taking our minds off the pain and exhaustion of fighting the fight.
Recently saw an interview where he was asked if he would continue to do Jack Sparrow visiting kids in the hospital after his trial and Disney's treatment.... JD flat out said that he doesn't NEED to take anything with him but the costume and makeup because Jack Sparrow is such "a his creation" (look, act, speech, attitude) that he can do it anywhere, anytime, for anyone WITHOUT having to get anyone else's permission because it is how he IS as a person.
You rarely hear of an actor having THAT much influence on a character that the vast majority of that character (outside of trademark looks) is actually THEIR creation to the core. That every element that "makes that character alive" is actually within the actor at any moment that it no longer becomes "acting" but simply "being".
Indeed; when they were filming the first pirates movie, the Disney higher ups wanted to fire Johnny because Jack sparrow was unabashedly his own creation and they thought it was too strange and wouldn’t work in the movie

Johnny depp body guard once said that he is such a gentleman and simple fellow that he wants to greet each and everyone of his fans who are waiting for him wherever he goes , but we have to take him forcibly because he gets late to the main event cause he doesn't care about the event rather wants all his fans to be happy .
I will say this this is only the few instances of him caught on camera . He actually went on few many Christmas parties to fulfill some wishes of children , a prom dance , few more special care hospital , and many more places . He said once that if people even get a little bit of happiness or a smile on their faces that is brought by me or my character (,Capt. Jack sparrow) , i feel i have been successfull in helping them to ease up their life . He always felt sad if he couldn't make some of them in time .
I don’t know how Johnny is able to keep character. I’m watching this and just keep getting tears in my eyes. The empathy from Johnny is just astounding. Beautiful man.
As someone with severe social anxiety disorder, I recognize a lot of myself within Johnny Depp. You could tell that his anxiety is very prevalent, from these videos, to the trial. At some point, we HAVE to be extroverted to get through the situation we currently see ourselves in. And we enjoy it for what it is at the time. But, we never choose that path. We'd prefer to stay in the shadows and do good. So yeah, I feel very deeply connected with the Johnny Depp's of the world. 💙
I also noticed that he seemed to keep fighting some awkwardness and shyness...bless him for doing this nonetheless.💙
To be fair to Amber Heard, she also frequently visits hospitals dressed as her most famous, beloved character: "Woman Who Punches People, Gaslights Them, and Pressures Her Sister to Commit Perjury." (Or "WWPPGTAPHSTCP" for short.)
But seriously, it sucks that as a result of this mess, Depp can no longer make these appearances or have similar charity events based around his family-friendly characters.

In Australia we had an emergency services head shave in the middle of winter. You got to see the kids in the leukaemia wards, dressed up in fireman kit. On the way in your told not to show any sad emotions in front of the kids, until you get back in the lift. Doesn't matter how tough you think you are, you end up breaking down in the lift on the way back down. Myself and another firefighter had this opportunity at the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne. We both sobbed like babies in that lift on the way back down. The hospital staff actually pause the lift, so we can get some composure, back in front of our colleagues, whom many have gone through the same thing that we had just gone through. Typing this brings back all the emotions from about 30 yrs ago

Heard “pledged” to donate to children’s hospitals while actually splurging on herself. Depp did the things shown here for such kids. I don’t know what more proof anybody needs of the difference in their character than that.

My little brother has a congenital heart disease, he had his first heart surgery at 11. These kind of diseases and issues affect the entire life of not only the child but there whole family. Anybody who donates their time like this or organizations like Make A Wish who grants wishes is such a blessing. Even it's just an hour where the kids get to feel normal it gives so much strength to everybody involved and gives them great memories to draw from when they need 😊. ❤️

I'm sure that's true. He has a very caring nature. He helped a man on the streets of LA who was choking by giving him the Heimlich maneuver. I've followed his career and became aware of what a kind person he is. There are many instances of him helping people in distress. Some of that caring nature probably comes from his rough childhood.
On Instagram Courtney Love told the story of how JD saved her life when she nearly died of OD and how he helped her daughter for years.
Honestly he is a very kind man.
I am pretty sure this part was cut but, one of the questions one of the kids asked him was a question about his finger, he visited the hospital after his finger was cut and a kid asked him what happened and he played it off. But now looking at it, I can't help but think about everything else.
It was another of his visits to a different hospital, and his finger was bandaged up. A child asked him what happened and he replied that “I was hungry and I took a bite from me own finger.” You’re right - when you see that now, it just reminds you of what that witch (i.e, AH) did to him.

For AH to take that away from Johnny is beyond heartbreaking. It is ugly beyond words. My brother was diagnosed with Leukemia at 15 months of age. He died 48 hours later. God bless Johnny Depp for loving these precious angels.
Wow, he is right about the impact on the parents. Though these kids are facing very adult pain, their parents will have to live with unimaginable pain after burying their child. It seems he understands all these factors and that is commendable. He wants to touch the lives of the people whose lives he has touched. He’s giving back, and I love him for it.
It's interesting because these kids aren't just reacting to meeting their favorite character (Jack), but they have a real connection with Johnny in that moment and that is so very special.
I'd watch any content involving Johnny Depp, love that man so damn much

If I didn't know better, I would swear Capt. Jack Sparrow was a real person in these vids. It's one thing to bring a character to life in front of a camera, in a controlled environment, with a script and breaks between takes... It's totally different to fully become that character and act it out in such a way that it's believable to people IRL, without any breaks in character.
And as she mentioned, even if you enjoy this type of work, it's totally exhausting to interact with that many people and keep your fun energy up the entire way through. ESPECIALLY with children, because they can be so unpredictable and wacky, it takes even more energy to engage with them in a way that's fun for the children, and in a way they can understand and appreciate.
I know some people can play the part for a bit for the sake of good publicity, but he is clearly going above and beyond to make sure each person/child gets to have an authentic and memorable experience with him/his character.
I had heard that Johnny built that character from the ground up.

That tells you what kind of man he is it breaks your heart because after everything this man has been through he still make sure there's a kid out there that's happy and he makes him laugh and he does his part to make sure that that kid is happy at least for one day

When shooting Pirates in London his daughter got very sick and was rushed to The Great Ormond Street Hospital G.O.S.H which is the best Childress hospital in the world, he visited the hospital as jack sparrow and once his daughter was cured he donated 2 Million Pounds and since then he has been an ambassador for GOSH and visits and donates frequently.
He treats his fans with the love that they give him.
This man is the most gentle and kind hearted soul, I can't stand what AH has done to him. He has done this so many times without cameras too. He deserves all the love in the world.
Thank you for this video. I've seen a few of them and they are very emotional. I remember he was on a Graham Norton and he spoke about how when, I believe Lilly Rose was sick and being in the hospital with her and seeing the other parents with their sick children. He said you can see them slowly dying, in a sense. So going to the hospitals is for the children but for the parents as well. I hope he will heal soon and stop abusing his body with drugs, etc. A person who has such inner pain but also has the desire to make others happy especially children is very touching.

This man is a good man, and nothing can change my mind ever, not AH with here garbage, not the drinking or drugs rumors, but this is and should be the measure of a man, by how much joy and happiness he brings in to the world.

When I watched vids of JD signing countless autographs at countless events, and clips of him visiting hospital, and some interviews, I got the sense that he is just a good person. And then, the numerous people speaking up for him regarding his goodness from x partners from the most recent and going back 35 years -all good things to say, and the numerous people speaking out about him regarding his good character and beautiful soul, and how he honored his mother in her terminal illness and made sure she was taken care of, he is a good man. He has spoken how his fans are his employers, that it is the people who buy tickets who are his supporters and who provide for him to provide for his "kiddies," and that he has the utmost respect for them. He is a good man. Hollywood could use more men like him.
The whole world needs more men like Johnny Depp!

I have CGD (Chronic Granulomatous Disease) so I have been in and out of the hospital my entire life I mean doctors didn't expect me to live past 5 years old and I'm getting ready to turn 26 in July. And I feel like i can relate to these kids because I was one of them and seeing these kids just light up when Johnny Depp walked into the room means everything because trust me it gets really lonely at times. I love that he does this and hope more people do it.
Also i mention my illness because hardly anyone has ever heard of CGD and I used to be ashamed that i had it tbh but now that I'm older I want to bring more awareness to it.
Good to hear that you have outlived the doctors' expectations. Wishing you the strength and everything else that is needed for a very long, happy, fulfilling life.

When you see a person do this, first thing you feel is that hes probably a nice person. Sure he has his own faults and problems but at the very least it shows he has good character and morals. Ive done hospital visits in costume character as well and it is indeed very hard to keep that energy level. All that on top of wearing a very hot costume. It takes some proper drive and willingness to do this for them. So ive never really believed he is what AH accuses him to be

The first thing I think of is, how could AH be so cruel to such a giving, loving man. She doesn't think about the big picture, only about what she can extort from this very humble man. JD is a very warm hearted, loving person who admits he has faults, but wants to give back, and bring joy to his fans he calls his employer. The look on the kids faces really say it all. SO BEAUTIFUL.....My daughter had a lawn mower accident and lost a portion of her foot when she was little I remember me and her had to stau at the hospital for about 4 months THE CHILDREN HOSPITALS ARE TRULY AMAZING THEY WERE SO GOOD TO US whenever I get down and start to loose faith in humanity I think about the AMAZING people that worked, visited, donated and volunteered there and it gives me hope🙏🙏🙏🙏💙💙💙💙💙

This is the real Johnny Depp in character. He is a loving father and great man. He was checking on his daughter in the hospital and he was still dressed as Jack Sparrow so when the children noticed he spread the fatherly love. He made the children happy and smile because that's what he does as a person. He used his character to spread his love for everyone. Love starts with our children, they are our future. We need to be good example to teach our children to be productive human beings. I believe Johnny Depp was born to be a father. It's in his soul to care. He even shared his penthouses to people in need and never asked for rent. He gave lots of stuff to Amber too. She just wanted more so she attacked him in the media and lied trying to get more from him.
On another observation: he os very cautious and don’t go over the top. Very calm and sensitive to the environment
the thing that really stood out, was though he was in character, when he hugs, it's very real, deep, and genuine

I've spend years volunteering in animal shelters and i've seen my share of tough shits, yet I just can't even imagine myself doing what he did there. It's just way too hard not to let your emotions overcome you in front of the kids you're trying to cheer up.
