    In the Philippines, English is the preferred language during formal training or academics, Tagalog on the other-hand is used during traditional ceremonies and informally often to expound on a topic by instructors.

    The Marine Special Operations Group, formerly known as the Force Recon Battalion, are specialized in the sea, air, and land operations, like its counterpart in the Naval Special Operations Group of the Philippine Navy. While the Scout Rangers, known officially as the First Scout Ranger Regiment, are specialized in anti-guerrilla jungle warfare, raids, ambushes, close-quarters combat, urban warfare, and sabotage. Both units are elite, the best of the best on what they're about to accomplish.

    In the Philippine Military Training, commands are usually given in filipino and english since most of us are bilingual. In our ROTC during college, we usually use english commands during training, while filipino commands are mostly used during formal events, exhibitions and drills, or whenever the commander feels like it. I visited the Phil. Military Academy once and it seems like they're like that too

  • @LiveLayf
    @LiveLayf 3 года назад +15

    Yes. Filipinos have their own language in communicating and commanding within the military, but it is practiced to speak the English language (which is widely used globally) as Filipinos have trained with American soldiers in the past. Thus, generalizing the communication and command language to be prepared in the future if Filipinos are to fight along side foreign allies.

    For what i know because scout rangers are for specific missions unlike marines they usualy do patrols in jungle, my tactical officer who is a marine use to tell stories that because they are so few even brigadier generals still goes on patrol if he wasnt able to expirience to be stationed, it is a requirement for them to expirence battle and almost all memebers of marines expirience battle, only major general or 2 star general dont go on patrol anymore they wont reach that rank unless they expirience a gun fight and also because they are few thats why they say "the few and the proud marines".

    Philipoine Scout Rangers has been around since 1950's and they have more experience in jungle fighting, recon, rescue and sabotage (a nicer word for assasination) behind enemy lines. That's there specialty. The marine force recon has been around since 1995. Their training emphasis is airborne, underwater demolition and scuba which is specialized but not frequently needed. There is also a big difference in combat training emphasis between the two units. There are more scout ranger personnel than marine force recon because scout rangers are spread throughout the archipelago in a team of 7 men behind enemy lines 24/7. Marine force recon are called for especialized assignments or to be first in the battle field ahead of the advancing marine force. The question is always which unit is better. I maybe prejudice but I think it's the scout rangers. They are getting better because of modern weaponry, more modern helicopters, drones, tanks, apc's, howitzers and rocket launchers. And there are also scout rangers who are trained as airborne by the Philippine Air Force. For these reasons, scout rangers are always on the news almost every other week killing NPAs and Abu Sayafs.

    2:04 Yes, I think the reason why they have to speak in english (not all the time assume) is because there are over 180 spoken dialects in the Philippines and not everyone can speak and understand tagalog which is the major language in the PH. I mean, in the Philippines almost everyone can understand english and speak it, we have an accent (understandable) but we do try to speak english

    2:08 In our trainings here in the Philippines, in the Military even in Philippine National Police, they usually train us in speaking English, it depends on the Assistant Instructors what we should use. They just instruct us... In 5:55 we wear different uniforms to determine what Branch of forces are you. In the Armed Forces of the Philippines composed of Philippine Army (Scout Rangers, Special Forces & etc.), Philippine Airforce and Philippine Navy where Philippine Marines linked to it... have different colors and styles of Pixelized uniforms. To blend in their environment where they usually are. Even Philippine National Police, Philippine Coast Guard, Bureau of Fire Protection, Bureau of Jail Management and Protection, Bureau of Correction, Presidential Security Guard and etc. have almost the same type of uniform but differs in style and colors.

    We actually speak english in our training but not necessarily in all times. English language is our medium of instruction here in the Philippines. But, of course you will think, why are we not using our native tongue? Like what you've seen here in this documentary, these special forces speaks two languages, the Tagalog language which is the Philippines official language and the language of colonizer that we forcibly use to learned during 2nd World War, the english language. I admire you because despite that there are better special forces documentaries here in the internet, you managed to watch our way of training in the Philippines. I don't know the real reason why you choose to watch these guys from Philippine Marines but, I assume that you're not going to tolerate this things just to boost your channel. But, anyway, I hope you enjoy watching this documentary despite having some difficulty of language. You'll notice here that I edited my comment. It is because I'm having a little bit of difficulty of contracting this comment and you probably know the reason why.
