2006 thru 2012 working as an American civilian construction manager 3 years in Iraq and 3 years in Afghanistan. I considered myself absolutely, completely SO PRIVILEGED to have had the opportunity to work with a number of prior service Philippine Marine engineers from every discipline, civil, electrical, mechanical and structural working as site engineers and I can say this,, they were EXTREMELY competent, disciplined, absolutely NO BS members of my team. I know that without their dedication to my team, their focus upon completing a QUALITY, ON SCHEDULE, UNDER BUDGET project we likely would not have been as successful as we were. I have never seen the training these fine men AND WOMEN (2 civil engineers were women) endured to become Philippine Marines. I am not surprised why they were such disciplined engineers,, they were/are TOUGH AS ANY COUNTRY'S FIGHTING FORCES IN THIS WORLD. GOD Bless and KEEP them all SAFE.

The 6 month training of these recruits is by far the longest and toughest one in the world! The US Marine has only 13 weeks or 2.99 months of training while the rest of the world is almost the same as US Marine Corps. Much respect for the Philippine Marine Corps!

As an American Soldier and a former Philippine Army Soldier, my great advices for any military applicants around the world most specially for the SPECIAL Forces trainings are:
1.) Avoid creating unwanted attention. 2.) Observe everything around. 3.) Be a team player. 4.) Don't quit / Never give up.
May the Lord God bless you and your family always.🙏🙏🙏

Some people are asking what unit is the most elite?
To me there's no elite unit. Military Units differs from organization, training, equipment, logistics due to their designed mission/s (task and purpose. Being an elite unit does not compare from one unit to another but on the outcome of the given mission whether mission accomplished or failure. Marines should not be compared to Army or vise versa, and with other special units like Scout Rangers, Special Forces, SPOW, NSWG. SAF PNP, etc. These units have their own peculiar purpose in order for the Government to achieved its goals and objectives.
Eliteness is based on the Mission Accomplishment of the unit relative to the degree of the risk at hand.
Example is the IDF's successful risky raid in Entebbe by Israeli Commandos. To me they are elites.
Your unit can be an elite if you attain your risky mission with minimal casualties.
