PTSD is no joke. I was in the Air Force and Marines for 12 years serving in both the Persian Golf War and the Iran Contra Affrair. I've had it so bad sometimes, that I've had the thousand-yard stare that last for hours.
I am a veteran I have dementia and unable to walk without a walker. I live alone in rural Aska. When I went to Dr Cannava in Soldotna about being suicidal, he told me to sit on my porch in zero degrees and freeze to death. He also reported me to adult protective services and they are going to take away my rights. The person who occasionally drops off a meal couldn't make it on Christmas so I had no visitors or calls. I hope you all had a Merry christmas
If you've served and are in pain just remember your not alone, you've done shit where most have failed and accept this disease as a cowardly enemy and defeat it aswell. If you have done questionable shit on active duty then save 10 times more people
Anti-depression help: listen to coping music, eat healthy and regularly, get sleep regularly despite annoying coworkers who do not shut up (have a bedtime), do not use too much caffeine and late at night (fuc* night work), lay off candy and sugary stuff, and journal feelings. Stop using alcohol if you can and go to a substance abuse and alcohol abuse place. It will help you and doing the opposite of help is not help.
As a iraqi I have witnessed a lot of crimes in iraq against children and innocent people we will never forgive you even if you end your life you destroyed many lives
