After serving 12 years in the middle east I actually lost part of myself and my my friends when I came home and they didn't. I think that I actually drank to forget about fallen brothers in combat more than anything after 6 months I just realized that their Never coming home. So I just realize that fact that after Over 18 years in the Military I couldn't drown my Sorrows in a bottle. I could only Vent Them to You and I Only Realized it after 6 months of drinking myself into a Stupor trying to forget
I served almost 15 years in the middle east first 6 as US Army Scout Sniper, last 8 as USAF PJ. I resigned my Scout Sniper position and immediately joined USAF PJ'S afterwards.
I made it home after 15 years in the middle east and I am the one who felt guilty for surviving and drank like a fish for 6 months until I pulled myself up from boot straps and got my life together!
You're a true hero brother, I blew my right knee out on a Halo Jump in Afghanistan the Surgeon said that I could Never Jump Again, My wife was relieved and I became extremely Depressed
The main problem in any war is Trying to have human feelings towards others I spent 18 years in the middle east and have seen the worst that Human Beings can do to one another. In my heart I am knowing to do right and helping people in need.
When I first arrived in the middle east I spoke fluent English, Russian and German. By the time I left I spoke fluent English, German,Russian, Arabic, Farsi and Pashtun! To be perfectly honest I got tired of Middle Eastern People's Speaking Behind My Back!
I realized this 5 years ago when I just became Numb to everything, my Wife said either change or I taking children and leaving you, I think what amazes me was I didn't care I was just Numb from losing so many Friends after 18 years in the middle east I learned fluent English and German and Russian before I ever knew Arabic, Farsi or Pashtun languages I got tired of people talking behind my back to be perfectly honest!
I served 15 years in the middle east lost a marriage and gained my wife and children , my wife is my Rock every decision I make surrounds Her. When I was overseas 16/17 Years ago I was a different guy
I quite literally came home Twice. ONCE As a USAF PJ, An Sniper , An Once again just a father and husband I quite literally drank like a fish for 6 months and my Stepfather came twice to me and said listen Son You have to let all the Bad Stuff Go, and Just remember the Good Things. I literally stopped cold Turkey. I recognized where my life was leading an forever gave myself to my Wife and children
Thank you. My dad was paralyzed and World War II. They had to save his arm so they did but he couldn't open his hand very well etc. This song touches my heart that whoever made it really cares.
this song pissed me off so bad lol. it reminds me of my brother who joined the marines..... he dont talk to me anymore though... he is to good for family now so I am always just pissed off at him now
I remember back when I was diagnosed with colon cancer that had spread to 5 of my Lyphnodes an they all had to, it's okay I don't even explain to my son that his cancer treatment has made her sons hands and feet went Numb for next 6 months and maybe more
After watching this video, I just about wanted to cry but after serving 18 years in the middle east, I honestly don't have it inside me anymore, I just feel Numb
When any US Soldiers become quote " Numb " I just admitted that I was already Dead. Nothing phrases you anymore. I literally learned that in US Calvary Scout Snipers and Reinfored USAF PJ'S
I sit back and think, that was then this is now.I just push all nightmares back. As A freaking PJ you see some things your mind cannot erase especially when it unfolds in front of you. The USA Military Services, They Never Prepare You For That Part Of War , or what you have to do to defend yourself and your patients. It's hell on Earth I wouldn't wish my Task ON Anyone Else Except PJ"S
By The Way it's been 16 years and I Still hate that freaking Drowning Pool, No Disrespect, I hated having hands behind your back and feet tied together. I THOUGHT for 100yard's given the depth, my first time I panicked and drown, Rescue Swimmer's picked me up of the bottom of the pool and gave Cpr and lung compressions and turned me on my side and said said Come Back To Life, I don't remember anything to clear, Other than Rescue Swimmer Screaming at me Come Back To Life!!!!
Damn, okay military life is tough but we still have feelings. If this video scared you from joining the military, dont let it. Im happily married with a beautiful baby girl. Im not speaking for everyone in the services, but me and a majority of my buddies are completly mentally stable, and we've seen some combat. Well except for Corey, but he was stupid before the Marines lol. Anyways, you dont always come back from combat mentally scared or anything. Thats all, and dont get triggered please, this is simply my opinion based on expurience.
Just no comment at this time USAF PJ'S and Troopers other than to say that after 18 years in the middle east Even arriving Speaking Fluent English, Russian and German I was lost until I Learned Arabic , Farsi and Pashtun. I got tired of people talking behind my back
Burying pain too true and everything you come to love and cherish is swallowed by grief and mourning then it's buried by sorrow you can't feel nor summon up memories washed over buried and only one direction to go forward can't look back only forward
after over 20 years all the ghosts of the past are still real and with me every night....they tell me there was a war then and they forgive me but i can't believe them because if they really forgave me they wouldn't visit me every night
this was well put together on a great song. however, if I may add some constructive criticism. . . leave out all branches besides the USMC. oorah! just kidding #mortard. on a serious note, the FPS could have better matched the speed of the song. longer pause on items in beginning. more solemn, then more intense at 2nd Verse. other than that, great job!
Yeah sorry i dont get it maybe im just made of different stuff but after years as a paratrooper and doing some shit seeing bad stuff etc it never broke me just made me hate people more it opened my eyes to realise the people we thought as friends are false fucks .True friends are the ones i served with.
I think back about it and I think about it I just got tired of Men and Women dieing right in front of me, I think that I became a better USAF PJ Personally I know that I Did Personally. I FOUGHT MORE FIERCELY TO PROTECT THEM, INDIVIDUALLY. I DON'T KNOW WHAT I WAS THINKING AT THE TIME ALL THAT I WAS THINKING IS GETTING MY SAS OFFICER HOME ON AUGUST 19TH, HE HAD BEEN shot wrong place and wrong corner of Truck,Jeep whatever it made him better husband!
I'll tell you what my drill Sgt told me at the time you have no time for feelings out here Period , So package that Crap Up, Until you're back in the real world!!!!!!!
When I listen to this song it makes me nostalgic. My husband is in the military and my heart goes out to him.
After serving 12 years in the middle east I actually lost part of myself and my my friends when I came home and they didn't. I got respect for the mlitary and those that do. I'm a Navy vet. I relate to this song in a different way than what the video portrays.
I served 15 years in the middle east lost a marriage and gained my wife and children , my wife is my Rock every decision I make surrounds Her. When I was overseas 16/17 Years ago I was a different guy
