Da Vinci must have known this style of art consciously or unconsciously. This same phenomenon appears in the "Mona Lisa". If you tilt your head to the far right you see greater definition of her facial features. It is amazing. No joke.

Reminds me of the street chalkers...the 3D looking scenes created that look like holes...depending upon the point of view...
