    This was a good video. We just had a house fire and I had a remediation company come out and I signed their contract only after did I find out that they were only willing to do 100% of the job: contents collection & cleaning, demo, mitigation of smoke smell & rebuild. The problem was we wanted our original builder to do the final build/ put back. The remediation company was not pleasant and I ended up using their contract to cease all work and only have them deal with our contents. It's a huge headache but folks should know you can hire whoever you want to fix your place!

    Loved the step by step process and your explanation of the claims process. I'm trying to get my roof repaired. And not sure weather to get it repatched again or replaced. I do have some damage, but I've spoken with two roofers and both said and I quote: “The roof is toast!” and they recommended replacement. So I'm pretty much at stage 1. Filing the claim.

    • @ShineInsurance
      @ShineInsurance  3 года назад +1

      Right on. If the roof is toast from a storm ⛈ insurance should knock it dead 💀. If it’s toast cause it’s old, insurance may not take care of it.

    • @blakkcigarstud
      @blakkcigarstud 3 года назад

      @@ShineInsurance well I've been waiting for a more significant weather event in order to have a better chance of getting insurance to repair it. Most of the damage occurred last November during a thunderstorm, when I finally got the roof cleaned off, that's when I started to notice the leaks in the ceilings. . I guess I'll just have to take my chances. The worst they can say is no right?

    I just came home from work today to a fire that happened. The smoke damage was the worst part.
    It was a blessing my dogs survived.
    I pray that State Farm will take care of me here in Texas.
    My home did not burn all the way down. It was the smoke that destroyed nearly everything.
    With that said, how and what do I let go of? Meaning, what do I save and trash?

    Very helpful, I just started had a flood in my kitchen due to plumbers incompetence. My insurance company is helping me pick up the tab so I can get a livable kitchen. We didn’t talk about replaceable coverage. So I am confused what does that cover? You really didn’t talk about that and I would appreciate it in-depth discussion of what’s the difference between the ATV and the replaceable thank you

    • @ShineInsurance

      That's a really weird arguement from the adjuster. Seems like they are just trying to make the source something that isn't covered on your policy. Were you able to get them to change?

    Hi thank you for all the Information you give us, but can you help me out. I have a leak or small crack in my swing pool foundation. i believe due to last year's earthquake. What would be the right way to file a claim?

    • @ShineInsurance
      @ShineInsurance  3 года назад

      Letisia Ornelas , issues with you pool are considered “other structures”. If the bad thing that happened is covered, your insurance policy should respond to fix it. In your case it sounds like you would have to have Other Structures coverage & Earthquake coverage.

    I've enjoyed your video.. The remediation people did an over kill on my house, then the contractor they had gave me one price and 3 weeks later came with something totally different.. I waa so over this process that I done the work myself.. Question for you filing my claims with the insurance company would it be the same process as long as I have all my receipts from everything

    • @ShineInsurance
      @ShineInsurance  2 года назад

      Thanks Laura! Yes, keep all of your receipts and stay in close contact with the insurance adjuster. Make sure they share exactly how you can submit your costs.
      PRO TIP: Make sure to bill them for your time as well. They should include that it their payout.

    I wish there was or wish someone would do a video on deductibles as this is a big part of insurance
    As state farm is telling me that i must pay a deductible for each event making my one claim into 3 claims which means that my out of pocket expense would be 9600 hundred dollars rather than the 3200 hundred dollars how can they get away with this ?
    so state farm wishes to pay only 4400 hundred dollars on a 14000 thousand dollar claim and it seems like they can get away with this because there seems to be no help out there when there is no money to pay a lawyer
