Thank you Ivan this video is extremely informative compared to others I watched 👏
Your welcome! Make sure to check out my other videos about the HGSE process. I made a playlist to help others with the application process because I was clueless and did not have resources when I applied.
congratulations ivan!!! incredible your work!!! do you offer mentoring service??
Thank you, Caroline! At the moment, I do not. However, I plan to provide a statement of purpose service in the summer for the next application cycle. When do you plan to apply and in what area of study?
Thankss 🙏
Hey, I love your video and may I ask, how do I get research experience in my undergrad while I am in a country that doesn't offer that and do you think it's going to ruin my chances of getting into Harvard grads school for a PhD in clinical psychology.
Hi, thank you for watching my videos. I have an entire playlist focused on the Harvard graduate school of education. You should check it out. It might be helpful with your application. In terms of research experience, you can ask your professors to see if they conduct any research that you might be able to get involved in. If that is not a possibility, you might want to look at international research opportunities. The Fulbright can be an option. I strongly believe that research experience is necessary for PhD programs at elite institutions. You can also start your own research project with a professor as a mentor. I started my own project as an undergrad. I hope this helps. I would start by asking some of your favorite professors in your field at your institution to see how they can help you.
Did you take any honors classes during your undergraduate?
Thank you!
Hello, thanks for sharing. May I ask you how many pages is your CV when you apply to Harvard?
Hi! My CV was 5 pages long. I do have a video where I share my Harvard CV. You should check it out to see how I crafted it.
@@IvanValdovinosGradSchool thankss
Did you go to grad school directly after undergrad or did you work for a few years first? :)
Hi Muhum, I attended grad school for my masters right after undergrad. For my PhD, I worked for four years before going (I am currently in my first year).
Hi Ivan! What did you get on your GRE??
Hi Junbeom, I shared my GRE scores in this video. I didn’t do so well tbh because I naturally don’t do well with standardized testing so I tried my best but decided to focus on the other components of the application instead.
Hello,
Did you take any honors classes during your undergraduate studies?
I did not, however, I completed two bachelor degrees which meant that I completed 180 or so credits.
@@IvanValdovinosGradSchool Kudos to you!
I have two more semesters left to graduate with a bachelor’s. I’m thinking of taking some honors classes. Do you think it will help for grad school like Harvard?
@@shujayethossain6554 I honestly don’t think it will get you in. They look at the entire application so a few honors courses won’t make or break the application. The only reason I would take those courses is if you want to showcase a strength such as writing and you take a writing intensive honors class. But I think applicants should focus on the statement of purpose and the why behind their decision to attend graduate school at Harvard.
I wonder if Harvard requires GRE for master of education? I am not good at standardized testing. I really want to apply next year , fall 2023.
Hi, it looks like they haven’t made that decision yet. It was optional for the last two application cycles. Here’s the website you should monitor when the 2023-2024 cycle begins in September: www.gse.harvard.edu/admissions/faq/standardized-tests. Standardized test scores are not the only thing they look at and I know a lot of people with low scores who got in. I would focus on strengthening the other portions of your application.
@@IvanValdovinosGradSchool thank you Ivan!
@@sophielam2499 I have an entire playlist dedicated to the HGSE application.
I just came here to see if anyone knows if Yale got higher scores than YOU guys. Keep rockin it. Okay, I just read that and I want to say YOU MUTTFUKKERS AT HAAAAAVUDD. Inquiring minds want to know, so wtf, feel free ta HMB.
Thanks.
What was your GPA?:)
Hi Genesis, my undergraduate GPA was a 3.49. I did complete two degrees plus received a teacher certification for my state. I have a whole series dedicated to the HGSE process.
oh damn that’s really low
@@joelforman7543 yes it’s average, but I marketed my skills in other ways via my extended CV, research skills, etc.
@@IvanValdovinosGradSchool quick question, was the gpa in your undergrad uni based on a 4 point scale?
@@saifahmed7057 Yes it was!
