This really works .I do it .My 14 month old still looks away now and then but she is working round varied distractions out on public fields. Well broken down Forrest . I like your methods very much .Thank you :)
I have a 11 month BM.. and I call that position "bridge ".. I did the walking/ turning/going down with him more for the fun of it..lol.. but also for potential protection work -didn't even realise that this was used for heeling... my BM loves that position ..in fact I have to warn people that he likes going in between ones legs from behind so just be aware this can happen.. I keep telling my BM that he's only suppose to do this with me... but he ignores this..🤣🤣lol..
Obviously this dog already knows how to do this. I would like to see this from the beginning with a dog that is doing this for the first time. Thank you.
If you plan to do any sort of competition obedience, your dog should be on the left side. However if you are teaching heeling for your own sake, either side is perfectly fine. Many people teach focused/ competition heeling on the left and informal heeling/ loose leash walking on the right just to keep them from interfering with one another.
Happy Howies - leerburg.com/happyhowies.htm We use this for almost all training sessions at Leerburg. One of our staff members has a dog with a highly sensitive stomach and she is able to eat these treats without any problems as well :)
Thank you for the reply. Definitely ordering some. I am assuming the training sessions are before feeding. Here is a link to my daughters GSD. ruclips.net/channel/UCBgHAxkNgRXfw9OrnVFX9Wg?view_as=subscriber

Forrest is a Master of the Heel. He makes Heel work fun for both the handler and the dog.
