no one will make a hole in your tire. it might have a corroded rim, and they might not have ground it down. this is more common on aluminum rims. valve stem is less common for slow leaks.
two methods to check for leaks:
- first air your tire to spec (found on the sticker in the door jam, probably a yellow sticker)
- soapy water in a spray bottle - dish soap. spray all over and look for bubbles. if you can't find it that way...
- fill a big basin with soapy water, big enough to stand your tire in. let it stand on one side and look for bubbles coming out of the water, turn and repeat.
