That’s what I thought, added blade should mean more melee damage, plus the sidekick inspection needs to be done better, the fingers are just clipping through and it doesn’t make sense to grab the blade

This is the trouble, the resources are used to create paid for minor crap instead of using said resources such as modelling time on creating an entirely new vehicle or weapon, the talent is wasted on basic stuff like skins and models because they have to of course.
I'm bummed that almost all new content are skins, because they can be items in the shop. Completely new weapons and vehicles couldn't be items to sell.
They might be a little indecisive whether to release new vehicles and UNSC weapons because they then are forced to make every coating for vehicle or weapon available to said new item. That's a lot of work. Wonder if they can't use some AI tool to speed it up and if one looks bad people report it and it gets manually fixed.
@@OnePlayer480 coatings are done like a lot of skins in Counter Strike, basically a paint-by-numbers system. It's why modders can put coatings on campaign enemies, on banished weapons and how cross core coatings have been possible since day one. There isn't an artist making every coating compatible with the cores and armour, its just creating regions that correspond to the settings of the coatings. It's actually a really modular and cool system, but the F2P nature of the game means it's all locked

There was once a very fine looking DMR Bandit Rifle in the Store that had some vine designs on it. It was probably there for a week and gone. I really wanted to buy it for one of my Spartan themes. Sadly I don't think I'll ever see it again.

Id have loved to see the banished wielding the commando and bulldog variant in campaign. Kinda like how halo 2 brutes saw human shotguns, liked them and developed the maulers by halo 3
because they're greedy and can't lock new weapons behind a paywall the way they do with weapon skins so they don't put any work into making new sandbox items because they can't sell them
The vicious ones were cool. The Banished look fits into believable logic. Now the skull ones etc. are straight for the bin. It's like the pirate DMR and Samurai crap I could totally do without.

I remember when Halo let you unlock cosmetics for free by playing the game. Could even play with friends in matches where you didn't get stomped by the sbmm 24/7, in dev made maps that were actually fun to play no less. And it felt rewarding to boot. Not so much with a credit card, especially in a cost of living crisis. This franchise is so cooked lol

because they're greedy and can't lock new weapons behind a paywall the way they do with weapon skins so they don't put any work into making new sandbox items because they can't sell them
Free new weapon brings them 0 money... skins however are a different story. They'll milk this playerbase for all it's worth to make up for losses.
