Since no one commented this yet: Camp Half Blood is both summer Camp and all year - camp. Depending on their godly parent, demigods are pursued by monsters more or less. Kids by the big three for example have a more prominent scent, while a child of Demeter would be more or less safe outside of camp. These kids could lead pretty normal lifes in the human world. Kids have to decide by the end of summer if they want to stay all year.
The serie was really well done, even if different from the original work. About the differences from the book... Kronos is too earlier on this story. Zeus is not that "mocking evil" guy. He just strict "to the rules" and this have a reason why. Percy did not loose the limit term for his quest, and naturally Poseidon did not surrender or gave any apologize to Zeus, who thanks Percy by his work. Luke at this point did not strugle or got nervous. He was ice cold and just reveals himself to Percy after put a monster scorpion at Percy hands ready to strike. Annabeth didn't participate in this queue, and take her hard to believe that (Luke was a kind of her older brother and inspiration - she never spoke ill oft him). Mr. Brunner from the series failed sorrowful to be "Riordan's Dumbledore" and in my opinion in the series he looks more like Mr. Roarke of Fantasy Island.
Annabeth is going to Disney world. I love how Percy tells her to be a kid because he has learned from her and observed on the quest that she hasn’t experienced any moments of childhood because she had run away at age 7
As a book fan I am glad that you didn’t figure it out because it was a great plot twist I didn’t see coming

the end credit scene is more impactful in the book because he’s physically and emotionally abusive towards Sally.
