I'm genuinely curious, so please don't take this the wrong way, but what is the appeal of those figures?
To me they look like those super cheap godzilla toys I had as a kid made from rubbery plastic with barely any articulation and really sloppy paint application.
I believe that is the point or in essence the charm of most of these types of toys. He does these toys in this style to recreate old toys from that era. lots of underground artists actually make these kind of toys with their own designs like Slime house does. Sofubi type figures are everywhere if you just google it. well painted or not usually the point is to evoke the charm of that era of toys.

Love the Basket Case piece and I am such a fan of the They Live toys. I actually showed that movie to my teenage daughter a few months ago and she says it's her favourite John Carpenter film. She's got such good taste for one so young. Anyways, happy new year Theo and I'm already looking forward to seeing what you come up with for 2025.

The tyco T-rex, both the toy and the Smithsonian versions outer shells are the same, however the inner workings were removed from the Smithsonian version.
