If you plan on adding resource pack support, you could make it so the textures aren't together in a atlas, but when the game opens or reloads assets, it puts all textures in the atlas, just like Java edition does

This has come along so good I can't even believe it's been half a year. Great work and video! I have some dumb splash text ideas: "Hi mom!" or "Hi mom I'm on RUclips!" or "Terrarian't". my real idea is also for the main menu, and it's the odd chance to make the title screen spell "Minceraft" instead of Minecraft. In real Minecraft, the block breaking particles spawn on the whole area where the block was, not just the bottom, so it hides the fact that the block disappears, now you can still see it disappearing, but with some extra particles at the bottom.
Nice, i actually did this many times in my old gms2 minecraft thing back. And failed everytime, nice to see someone making a 2d Minecraft nowadays since I don't see a lot of that! Also for the slash suggestions: "just like the golden ages!"

i couldn’t clearly make out how far lava would spread from a source block. by the height of the first flowing lava block it looked like a segment of 8 like for normal water. but in Minecraft water flows for 8 blocks and i believe that lava only flows 3/4 blocks

I think it would be nice if different biomes had slightly different lighting or colour tint! Something like this works in Terraria and gives 2D environments more distinct vibes. Anyway, this project is fascinating!!

6:19 you gotta make the logs go 1 block higher to make it more accurate!!
Two things you could change is the color of lava which is too reddish and the ambiance of the swamps are more darker in a way
