I told her to stay home, and I would bring them some supplies using the petty cash. I showed up to their home knocked on the door then stepped away so they could bring their groceries inside. She and her husband recovered fine.

Normally people ask for backup in these situations or brief their colleague before addressing it because it’s safe to assume there WILL be backlash by some entitled people. It would be nice if we could expect people to act like adults and not create drama, but it’s unfortunately not the norm. I’ve personally never seen a hoard of people essentially be told, “your time has been wasted and there’s nothing we can do about it so you need to sort transportation amongst yourselves” and there NOT be a some grumbling/complaints being made

By that point in the conversation, she made it clear that weight loss was not the goal, yet he still insinuated it. They were trying to bully me into going back early by harassing me starting at 7am that way if I went back early they would have legal grounds to fire me... I got sick because the site I worked at...in Texas, because of course it was Texas, they refused to enforce mask policies for customers while indoors...near employees and other customers.
