    Pretty cool, man. When I was a teenager back in the 90's, I was a superfan of CB. I had an amtron 99 up until my mother thought it was tacky and made me take it down. I had to just make due with a magnet mount antenna on top of the cheap base that I got my hands on. It still worked though! Cool video dude.

    Hi john. Great contact that was you were absolutely booming to me here it was crazy. Really pleased we got to speak again its been a while . Its nice to see some of my friends i speak to regularly on here as well. I keep bumping into them on various youtube channels. 😂. I speak to many great radio operators. And enjoy talking to them all. Which is what this hobby is about and not always arguing or swearing or acting stupid like we hear on a regular occurrence on 385 🙄😞. That part of it seems to be getting worse this cycle. Its great that all the proper dx guys know each other and speak often on the radio .and on youtube channels. All the best john. Hope we can speak again soon .Keep safe. 73s WR456🇬🇧 Richard.

    nice setup and DX. I have same radio and did talk to England from NY funny same lady . I have gotten some needle benders in log. for me the UK DX is in AM to about 11 am or so . I did it in a park in NY with 20 Ah LiFePO4 battery and either the L2LT coax antenna or the end fed half wave antenna . on a 10 meter DX commander pole strap to bark bench. get 1.3 SWR or less. the stock mic works great on that radio. higher up I got England real rood. Derbyshire/ Manchester/London /Midlands got a lot in the log. I forget names as well . I make a log. also 12 meters hops UK lately . have to re tune antenna. I put different color heat shrink for 10/11/12 meters. takes 2 or minutes and back on . with Digi Rig and laptop I get digital modes on that radio. FT8 JS8 call . even SSTV . got some interesting pic's from England. I have gotten Scotland /Italy /and more around their in the AM from NY . skip has been crazy at times. 1o/11/12 meters wide open at times. have to cut power for digital . I have a RM Italy amp as well ,I don't have inline all the time. have to bring bigger battery. I have solar as well but NY winters are quite dark cloudy. some bad snow at times. in the after noon I get Texas lately . Huston area mostly. as sun set I get west coast real well. then nothing until sun rise. how my DX running the past few months. summer was south like Brazil . 73's

    27.4250 on D? I thought it was generally channel 2 on E. Just curious.

      I use the radio in the VFO mode showing the frequency not the channel. it doesn't matter what band it's on when used this way. Thanks for watching, 73's

    • @lencumbow
      @lencumbow 7 месяцев назад

      @@MowerJunkie I suspected that. Do you have a particular band and channel number that you always do that on? Or do you deviate from the stock frequencies on any channel - and then reset the frequency to stock when you're done?

    My lincoln ii plus is the same as yours, crappy RX, Drives me crazy. I have been running my 142 gtl all the time, it has the best RX ever of course, with my 955 being somewhere in between. Even the 955 is too noisy for me( friend i bought that from got it from wolcott and was supposedly tuned, the original receipt for that was in the box actually), skips gotta be super strong for me to run it. What sucks is my 142 is pristine and bone stock and i don't get any frequency's other than the regular 40, but it has me spoiled, and i refuse to have anything done to it. I am going for the QT 60 myself here (or the anytone version, same radio), seems to have super good ears on it as yours seems to, and as far as i know you just did the conversion with no re-alignment. I suspect i can make the lincoln better maybe with a re-alignment, but it would have to be sent out as we have no good techs here that i can go to. I bought it new a few years ago now and did the conversion myself, so the alignment is whatever it is from the factory, and i have no equipment to re-align it my self, thats even if i had the procedures for it, all these new radios are surface mount and so small, my eyes are so bad, i can't do anything with radios like this anymore, i am too long in the tooth and can't see to do anything on them. (other than a conversion) And for the qt 60 or 5555 NII the conversion couldn't be any simpler could it? lol
    Anyways, great video and i liked seeing your QT 60 working the DX, and if i am seeing things right you had no noise reduction on, and that receive was awesome on it. I was already convinced to get one, this video just confirmed that even more for me.

      You can't go wrong with the QT60, I think it's the best radio for the cost. I did have the noise reduction on (lowest setting) in this video.
      Take care 910, 73's from 151 SC.
