If you’re saying creation of statehood without the consent of NNC than what was Lison committee for ? And secondly Naga civilians were suffering under Indian army, villages were burnt to ashes 4-5 villages were made to grouped up in one village, pregnant ladies were forced to deliver right there openly and many civilians were tortured, killed brutally when they denied to expose NNC camp in the jungle. For that reason some educated Nagas came up for political talks with the GOI but it was clear that sovereignty was out of menu from the GOI side so they decided to opt for highest status besides sovereignty and that was statehood( during that time entire Northeast were under Assam province) Nagaland was the first and infact article 371 A was specially created for us after which the rest of northeastern tribal state followed.

S C Jamir choosed peace rather than war because factions were dividing instead of uniting. There was already a war with the Indian army and also a civil war. Two wars, you do the maths and you still won't have survived.
