I don’t know how not more Christians research this topic. The story of eternal hell as a default setting for humans because we’re THAT bad and sinful was seared into me as a child. It destroyed any trust I could have in God, the world or humanity. Now I have hope in the resurrection after death/nonexistence and I believe ‘as in Adam all are dying so in Christ all shall be made alive’ (1.Cor 15,22). Grace and Peace❤
I'm unconvinced of a heaven/hell scenario, therefore unsure about an afterlife either way. However, if I were to choose one I'd select the unconscious entry into non-existence. After reading Mark Solms' "The Hidden Spring: Journey to the seat of Consciousness", he convinced me that consciousness is a function the brainstem. So once the body goes, so does the part of the self we call "I".

I am so glad you arrived at a much better and more Christ-like place in your faith in this regard. Loved your comment
