I remember when my grandfather's macaque groomed my head for the first time I'm so relaxing that my brain release so much endorphins/dopamine that i had a goosebumps/small bumps on all my skin.... Thank you bugs for remind me what it feel to have a relaxing groomed session..... Oh im sleepy know
I am totally against people owning primates, but having said that I have to congratulate you on keeping Bugs and not dumping him into a sanctuary. You hardly ever see an adult macaque in a home . He is adorable!
The slaps are basically a muscle memory thing for them as they use it to clear dirt and smack at bugs to get them to come out , even if they don’t find anything they will still slap as it’s again a muscle memory type habit !
He is so precious! I pray before I retire to Monkey and Dog Heaven (recently diagnosed w metastatic cancer) I will have the opportunity to hold and love on a lt macaque. PEACE, LOVE & MONKEY ON!🐒

I adopted Bugs when he was 14 months old.. He is 20 now.. He was the first monkey rescued at Misfitland.. We now have 4 rescued monkeys..
