I appreciate your opinions, however I am not sure I agree with your observation. If you were comparing between the RT and the Adventure, then I would tend to be more agreeable. Now that is coming from a guy who owns the GSA and the RT. I may have to change my choice with the '21 RT. I will always love my GSA, but I am ready to pull the trigger on a new RT. Also, I just ordered a K1600 Bagger. My wife is complaining about taking up too much space in the garage with my toys. Shut up woman, I am retired. The biggest reason I prefer the RT over the GS is the display and the air protection. Most of us don't have the advantage of California weather, and that is a big deal in the real world.
Can you comment on the difference on poor roads between the GSA and the RT? Should someone with a crummy back choose the GSA with the extra suspension travel?
I just started watching your channel, I grew up in the valley a couple miles from west valley BMW. I ride a 2017 gs (thinking about a 1250) and also own 2019 Triumph Scrambler1200XE. Being around the same age as you both I totally relate to your video… see you guys at the RS
Great to hear, Hogdriver! I think you'll be happy whichever way you go, BUT, while there's not a wrong choice. to be made, there probably is one that is RIGHTER than the other for you! You'll figure it out!
I definitely agree with BMW replete customers. I’ve owned a 2014 GSA, 2018 K 1600 B and now buying a 2021 RT. I think once you experience the way BMW engineers they’re bikes it gets you hooked.
I would never get a GS if I wasn’t going to do any off-road. I have a GSA and a K1600. Between the GSA and RT, for on-road use, I’d take the RT all day every day.
Hi Jed and Kenny, enjoying the Channel very much and nice to see some california roads, I'm in North Scotland so a completely different perspective (and also very similar 😀) I've had 3 x GS's and on my 3rd RT now, also have some others like my little Royal Enfield 650 Interceptor (which you guys would like BTW), look forward to more of the same guys and best wishes 👍
Hi James. Thanks for stopping by to check us out. Would love to visit your neck of the woods one day. That's a lot of GSs and RTs you've had -- impressive! That 650 Interceptor looks fun! I almost wish they would have stuck a carburetor on it rather than injected it. I must admit, though, when I hear "Interceptor" I think Honda!
I sold my 2008 1200GSA in the fall and I am going to pull the trigger on a new bike this spring. I can’t decide between the 2021 GSA or RT. Tough choice.
Barring negative points, I think the best stategy is to just go out and ride them both and make an honest evaluation on how you intend to ride it. Keep an open mind as they represent different intent and don't be swayed by your old choice. Every rider is different, and each bike is tailored to meet an asthetic, as well the majority of riders that are comparing machines. You should find one that stands out. Don't listen to others opinions. Let your heart speak to you.
@The Jed Rides have you spent any time on any of the Harley touring bikes? If so, what's your take on how they stack up against the GS? I am now on to my second HD (2020 Road Glide Special) but I'm beginning to look and think hard about trading for a GS/GSA.
Chris, great question. I haven't been on an FL since the Rushmore revisions, so I need (and plan) to. (If you're anywhere near Los Angeles we should get together and trade bikes one day!) I am a big fan of aesthetics of the Road Glide Special, by the way! Absolutely gorgeous bike! As a highway tourer, I cannot imagine anything being appreciably better than what you're on. The GS/GSA are lighter, with better power to weight ratios, and with better suspension and brakes, but the comfort and reliability of the FLs are big pluses for it. Of course now we'll also have to throw the Pan America into the mix. The numbers in today's reveal from Harley look pretty good to me!
Nice. Do you go on ADV rider? Also, what kind of chairs do you take with you? Easy to haul around on the bike? Look very sturdy as well... which I need lol.
Yes, I do -- great site. This is a link to the chair I have -- it folds up great and fits into a pannier easily. Kenny's is similar, slightly more expensive, slightly sturdier perhaps, and from REI. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07VKS3F1L/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I have a lowered GS and never had it touch down through the corners so try one if you get the chance😉 As you say the GS is a cool bike, switching back to the RT it just looks....dated, no offence meant to your friend
Hi i have a 2019 bmw r1250gsa and yes i love it. Peaple also don't realize it but the gs vs gsa has different headset track angle which makes the gs slightly more nimble in the the corners and is also lighter and has less wind drag so definitely gs is more sporty then gsa but i just really love how the gsa looks with all the crash bars and looks more mean. But yes the gs dose handle better and is more nimble and sporty.

It’s all about the bikes, my brother! Sounds like you’ve got an awesome stable!

Good to meet you, Robyn. See you up there when it stops raining!
This is a great format. You guys are making it harder for me to keep my money - now I want both of these bikes!

That’s a heck of a trio, Robert! I’ve actually owned examples of all three as well, but my RT was back in 2004!

Me too!

You guys are fun and interesting. I hope to acquire either an RT or GS soon… Keep the shiny side up
Thanks! Let us know which of those fine choices you make!

You can always count on Clint. Sometimes, okay, rarely, you can count on the Jed!

@@Bazza47 He's hard to offend! I have scraped my boot a couple of times in tight corners, but not the peg itself.

Agree with everything you wrote there psycho neighbor.
Plus the GSA has a 7 gallon tank!
Is The GSA noticeably smoother on poor roads with potholes etc?
sound like most lot ADV bike on road like most the suv on the road.
Good analogy!
