You know what's so hilarious about people talking about a 'creator' and 'intelligent design' and all that stuff? The just don't read their bibles! In Genesis there is no mention of a 'intelligent designer', designing all the wonderful stuff around us, no there is just the mention of a .... drumroll.... magician or wizard!
Read for yourself! This 'God' only speaks, he says 'THE MAGIC WORDS' like 'let there be light', 'let the earth be full of...' etcetera. And when he creates Adam, he takes clay from the ground, makes a figurine and breathes life into it's nostrils... That's no friggin' design, that's MAGIC, that's more like voodoo. God is introduced to us in the bible as this omnipotent magician or wizard, not a designer, let alone an intelligent designer.
So 'intelligent design' falls flat on it's face, is dead on arrival from the viewpoint of 'biblical christians' because it does not in any means reflect the way God is introduced in the bible itself! Hilarious!
Intelligent design is per definition at odds with the biblical account of creation!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Why is it important for a belief in God and a Divine Essence in the World and Universe, to have Creation take place 6,000 years ago based on genealogy with people hundreds of years old plus dinosaurs thrown in to this time scale?
    Why?
Why when you were born on the ancient island continent of Australia would you chuck out the evidence of the animals unique to Tasmania with separated from the mainland 15,000 years ago, plus kangaroos, koalas and platypus on the mainland and Aboriginal culture of over 50,000 years?

It doesn't mean millions of years. Even in the Hebrew it's specific when it's says day meaning 24 hours. Scores of other statements in the Bible all use the same language and it's a 24 hour day. So yes there is no reason to think millions of years. It's just a way for gullible people to try to rationalize it and make themselves feel better. Yet it's kind of silly to think God created everything he did but couldn't do it in a short time frame.

    • @waynejamel6703
      @waynejamel6703 4 месяца назад +1

@vikingskuld yeah why would God need all this time as if he isn't omnipotent. "Yom" in hebrew does mean time and can be interpreted in different ways but in this context the Bible makes it super clear to define what "Yom" is. Evening and Morning was a "Yom". So the translation to call it a day is accurate. Every single one of those 6 days of creation it repeatedly says that it was evening and morning. It was as if the Bible wanted to make it clear what exactly a day is. Its not a thousand years. Its not an indefinite eon of time. It is specific. It doesnt change its description when God creates the sun moon and stars. Its still evening and morning make a day. So how we view a day by using the sun to tell time lets us know that, that is what a day is. Then the commandments talks about this first week starting the weekly cycle which we see are 24 hour periods. Unfortunately, this is predicted. The wisdom of God is foolishness to man. Something so simple and repeated 6 times isn't believe, then how can one believe the rest of the Bible. It's sad.

@@valdezfam If your a believer, your leaning "away" from scripture "toward" what man says.
I lean "toward" the Bible and think that disciples of Christ should as well....
      Here are some examples;
I believe when Eve was made, she was capable of thinking, eating and reproducing..at one day old, although she may have looked 16 or 28 or 35, as soon as God made her.
No "science" is capable of replicating that, testing that or theorizing how it may be true.....
So if you are a believer, where do you start?
Science won't prove Jesus resurrected Lazarus from the dead,, they could interview him,, watch him eat,, check his blood and heart rate...wouldn't help,, it was a supernatural event.. do you believe that?
If so why that and not what the Bible says in face of what man assumes to be true? If God made Eve with age, why not the universe?
If not, do you believe Christ rose from the dead?
If so, why that and not Lazarus?
If not, then your not a Christian, you got much bigger problems than how old the earth is.
Where do you start to believe God?
      Chapter 11 of Genesis?
The biggest problem with old earth is death before sin.
If we evolved death was here before Adam, eliminating the fall because of sin and eliminating the need for Christ and His work for our salvation.
The fall, the need for redemption, and God Himself can not be proven beyond looking at creation and realizing there was a Creator. God designed it that way so that salvation will be by what? By faith, the conviction of believing things unseen...
If your a Christian You should be thinking on things like, why the tree in the garden? Why the animal covering as opposed to plant?
Sovereignty of God and the responsibility of man...
Why will Satan be released after the mill kingdom once he's bound....
We are told as Christ followers to make disciples (learners), not how we can reconcile the Bible with the theories of fallen men, no matter how smart our culture deems them to be.
If your not a christian you have much worse difficulty to overcome, unless you can be everywhere in the universe at the same time from eternity past to eternity future, you can't prove God doesn't exist.
It's logical if you think it thru.

This whole BELIEF falls apart when you consider the following:
    1. Radiometric dating is undoubtable proof that earth is older than 6000 years old.
    2. We have in fact observed evolution happening on bacteria and some insects, also on birds and reptiles on a much smaller scales.
    3. Let's suppose that evolution is not real.. then you guys would have to explain a lot of things, because that would mean serious implications to several unrelated fields of Biology that all fall on the same conclusions all using different pieces of evidence, observations and experimentation. The main problem is the fossil record and genetics, as both of them serve the strongest evidence to back up evolution, in the fossil record having several different fossil from different species or group of animals that among many things show a clear evolutive timeline and how different traits developed and genetics as genetic sequencing and comparison further proves the genetic relation and the absolute ancestry between all living organisms, and that the closer we are in the taxonomic tree the more genetic similitudes we will have (let's remember also, that the taxonomic tree, the system of animal classification purely runs on evolution and if evolution isn't real then we would also have a problem with that, because for the taxonomic tree to be created a lot of other evidences and proofs of several more fields of science, some not even relating Biology came together)

@@shipwright6122 As I said before. Kent Ham’s interpretation is not something one must believe in order to be a Christian. The age of the Earth has absolutely nothing to do with Truth which leads to salvation or freedom. Truth is Jesus Christ Himself, and He is the one that sets us free. And as a Christian who has his own mind, I do not agree with Ken Ham. Genesis 1:2 is represented in 2 Peter 3:5. God did not create the earth in darkness and then said “let there be light”. Genesis 1:2 is not the beginning stages of an unfinished Creative process. The Heaven and the Earth was originally created in Genesis 1:1. Then in Genesis 1:2 the earth was “standing out of the water and in the water” as it was destroyed through judgement. The Earth BECAME without form and void. If you read 2 Peter in context, you will see that Peter was not referring to the flood In Noah’s day. There is a contrast between the “heavens were of old” and the “heavens and the earth WHICH ARE NOW”. The flood in Noah’s day had absolutely no affect on the heavens above. The fake model of a “water canopy” did not exist and had nothing to do with the flood in Noah’s day. The flood waters came from under the earth, and it was only after the fountains of the deep broke, then the windows of heaven opened. Meaning powerful geysers erupted into the earth’s atmosphere which caused it to rain for the first time.
Why is the water canopy false? The waters above the firmament did not only form the earth’s atmosphere but it also include outer space. For God placed the sun, moon and the stars within that same FIRMAMENT that was formed when God separated the waters. And as we all know, the sun, moon and stars are not residing within the earth’s atmosphere. Psalms 148:4 mentions the waters above the heavens. Those who falsely claim the earth was flooded by the waters above the firmament which they say created a water canopy, are dead wrong according to Psalms. Those waters are still above the heavens. When Peter says “the heavens and the earth “which are now” he was referring to Genesis 1:3-31. This is when the Lord began the restoration process. Which means the earth is both old and young at the same time. Therefore I reject Ken Ham’s interpretation.

Hi. Nice one Ray, you're onto it, the Bible can indeed lie. It was adulterated by Rome. Literalists ignore that Jesus spoke in parables order to obscure truth, not to expose it. That's dishonest. (Matt 13:13), and (Mark 4:10-12). This is why his disciples often asked him to explain his parables.
Another lie, (a half-truth actually), is (Luke 16:10), where Jesus concludes that "people who are honest (faithful) in small things, are honest in big things". It's true sometimes, but Jesus completely ignores that con-men are deliberately honest in small things in order to gain your trust and rip you off in big things. Jesus' spouts a half-truth that help crooks and disadvantages honest people. His weasel words conclude a parable about a dishonest steward whom Jesus commends. Christians have a great deal of trouble explaining this parable, and so they should.
Truth can only be found by intellectual honest people, which you seem to be. We can be perfectly honest (in principle it's possible), and perfect honesty has a perfect relationship with truth, which is God. Honesty is the Holy Spirit of God. So keep seeking truth, and I'll leave you with one of Jesus' true sayings, "know the truth, and the truth shall make you free". (John 8:32) Cheers, P.R.

I used to be a hardcore creationist. Studied the science as much as possible. I watched Ken Ham as a kid; met him at an event (in Cleveland, I believe). I also loved Kent Hovind, AKA “Dr. Dino.” And to this day, I cannot believe I actually fell for it. This is a cult, and it’s harmful to the progression of science.
There are so many flaws in creationism. Granted, their are flaws in the current model of evolution as well. The difference is, modern day evolutionists can at least say, “well, we don’t know the answer quite yet, but we will keep researching, and trust the scientific process.” Meanwhile, creationists just say, “well, we don’t know the answer, but we trust that God already knows the answer.” It’s harmful to science, and harmful to the kids that are taught creationism.
Tell me, where in the Bible does it mention the horrendous natural disasters that have happened throughout our history? Mass extinctions have come about through ice ages, massive volcanic events, climate change, and the most well known, the Chicxulub impact. Where in the Bible does it mention the 6 mile wide asteroid that smashed into the Yucatán peninsula? We know there is a crater there, almost 100 miles wide. That event was so powerful, air temperatures around the globe reached hundreds of degrees. It burned any living thing above ground. Fire and rock rained down around the entire globe. The only GLOBAL disaster mentioned in the Bible is Noah’s Ark, and there is no possible way it was connected to that asteroid impact. (However, Noah’s ark could possibly be explained by a smaller asteroid that struck the Indian Ocean, causing immense coastal flooding…but certainly not global flooding). The pieces just don’t add up. We know that there are countless events in history that would have been recorded in the Bible, because given the severity, the people would have assumed it was judgement from God. For example, stories of raining fire and brimstone exist, and everyone thought it was “Yahweh’s” doing. When in fact, it was most likely a smaller volcanic eruption. So, if they took the time to record that, why would they not record massive global disasters?
I should also add in the KT boundary caused by the asteroid impact…that separation of life below vs life above entirely debunks the notion that humans ever existed with dinosaurs, and we were in fact separated by quite some time. (However, it needs to be said that if any of you truly believe dinosaurs and humans EVER coexisted, I doubt you’ll be able to grasp any of the concepts I mention in this entire comment)
REAL science follows a process. We obtain all of the evidence, and come to a rational theory. Creationists assume they already KNOW the conclusion, and try desperately to find evidence for it. That’s not how science works, people.
Folks, don’t fall for this stuff. Honestly, I would beg you to leave religion in general. But since people have a tendency to gravitate toward wishful thinking, that’s unlikely. So I would AT LEAST ask you to leave creationism and young earth theory. Sure, maybe there IS a god. We won’t know until we’re dead. But that god CLEARLY uses natural processes to shape history. Faith may “move mountains,” but it doesn’t cure cancer. It doesn’t put people on the moon, or lessen global warming. SCIENCE does all of that. And that same science tells us that the earth is at least 4 billion years old, and has seen amazing things that happened long before the arrival of modern man.

We don't know how long Adam was in the garden & remember Adam was created sowhere else & moved to the Garden. So we don't know exactly how old the Earth is. My opinion Adam was around a couple hundred yrs before Eve ever arrived. And then, he had to teach her everything he did & the names of all the animals, plants, fish, fruits, nuts, ect. My hope in our original parents (giving them a lot of credit) the earth before sin till now id about 10,000 yrs.

Adam willfully took of the fruit for Eve's sake being a picture of Jesus taking on the sin of the earth. Eve may have been created the last .5 years thus being naive and not having the experiences that Adam had and thus was easier to be deceived. Again I stress this is only a theory I have heard - take it or leave it.

I believe in creation, but there are two big flaws in this hypothesis. Firstly, if you take the account in the bible as being literal, God told Adam that in the day he ate of the fruit he should surely die. Adam lived to be nearly a thousand years old….. seems to point to the idea that a “day” to God is about a thousand earth years. So if God created the earth in six of His days it would be six thousand of our years. Then there is the fact that we dont know how long Adam and Eve were living in the Garden before they fell from grace…….. They could have been in there for many days……
Secondly, it seems that assuming God created the universe at the same time as the earth make the whole creation process very earth centric, like the old idea of the earth being at the centre of everything. It makes the earth the only planet with any of God’s creations on it in a vast empty universe. Why would God go to all that trouble to make empty galaxies billions of lightyears away and never use them.
The fact is the universe is billions of years old because it is full of earths just like us. God’s creations are without end and the idea that this earth is the only one is limiting God’s creation. This earth is not the first and it wont be the last of God’s creations, but the earth is quite young….. perhaps 12 thousand years, or slightly more.
The earth was not created in the place where it is now, and when it says God placed the stars in the heavens, it is describing the time the earth was moved to its current location orbiting our star, and it will be moved again when Christ returns.

(Disclaimer, this is not a hate comment, more of an explanation) So evolution HAS been proven to exist, looking at the embryo of different animals (Including human) They look very much alike, this is not a coincidence if it's based off of evolution. Everything that happens is a slow process that includes evolution. Bones have been found proven to be millions of years, and they have been proven to be descendants from animals we have today. We also have several organs that don't serve any purpose, but did when we're still in our hunting stages till about 12,000 years ago. The example I'm trying to give is our third eyelid, we don' t use it ANYMORE, but we did when we were hunting 50,000 years ago. The appendix is also a great example with people living healthy lives without it. Also, not to mention, being all decedents from 2 people would mean that we are all a result of inbreeding, which is a sin (according to the bible). Everything takes, time it doesn't just happen like that. Not to mention that Christians also use time as their hero. Noah took about 120 years to build the ark, that's more than about any human has lived before. So to make up for that they made Noah crazily old, I'm talking almost a millennia old. It couldn't' t have been shorter because the technology wasn't there to build it faster considering it's over 140 meters long 24 meters wide and 14 meters tall, it's crazy stuff.
Once again, this is not hate, I'm just pointing out what I find the most reasonable answer. The earth being 6000 years old I find unbelievable. Since there is so much evidence older than 6000 years old.

I've heard three theories on this. I sought it out because I had the same question. One is that light doesn't travel the same speed both directions. Dr. Jason Lyle is a proponent of this. It sounds odd, but veritasium actually did a video about this concept, and he wasn't addressing the age of the universe at all, since he is a nihilist.
Another theory is the spreading of the universe like a canvas would have caused a riple that would fall outside time so there was a timeless window on the day God created the stars and light travelled in that time that wasn't measured by time.
The most viable theory I've heard (and accept) is that light has been slowing down and used to travel much faster. There has been so much evidence of this until recently when they started measuring light with an atomic clock, which is subject to the same slowing as light. If you are interested in this, look up Barry Setterfield GSR on RUclips. He has a video about light and the formation of the universe. He has been able to run the math and timeline where all the major events like meter craters, flood of Noah, fossils etc all fit a cohesive timeline

I would like to share with you the gospel of our salvation in the dispensation of God's grace. “Grace can be defined as the undeserved favor of God for people who deserve His condemnation.”
God does not hold sins against us because they have already been paid for (every sin for every person.) Christ was made to be everyone's-every-sin (2 Corinthians 5:21). However, full reconciliation is not achieved until an individual "reconciles himself" to God (2 Corinthians 5:20). This happens upon belief of the gospel of our salvation. All humanity is forgiven but not all believe it. Being forgiven does not equal being saved, salvation comes by faith. Salvation is appropriated by faith, forgiveness of sins is NOT. Your sins were forgiven regardless of your belief. God did not need your faith at Calvary, He only needed His Son.
SALVATION is only gained by trusting Christ - via belief in the word of truth (the gospel of our salvation.) Salvation IS by works, just not our own. It is not of ourselves, but through the gift of God's grace that we are saved. Upon HEARING the gospel, if we BELIEVE the gospel, we are sealed with the holy Spirit of promise unto the day of redemption (Ephesians 1:13-14). A lost soul can only be saved by trusting Christ to have done everything necessary for our salvation though His finished cross-work. Romans thru Philemon are the only books in the bible that explain salvation for today. In those books we find salvation is by faith alone, in Christ alone, without-any-works-of-any-kind-at-anytime. Christ died for your sins, and has risen for your justification (1 Corinthians 15:1-4) Put your faith in what He did rather than what you have done, are doing, or are going to do. Salvation is not getting-your-sins-forgiven, it's believing they already are. (2 Corinthians 5:19)
Truth Time Radio, also on youtube and facebook, is here to help you better understand your bible and better articulate your faith to others.

They form a dome shape around the Earth and look like they are lower and in front of you when looking at the horizon (when doing this on the ocean, it looks like the clouds are “touching” the water in the horizon) If the Earth was flat you would see a straight line of clouds above as far as the eye could see, followed by black space, which would indicate where the Earth’s “edge” would be.

      @lightbeforethetunnel Год назад +1

@AnnaSanclement Let's take a look at what prominent scientists have to say about whether your observation works to verify the Heliocentric model over competing options, shall we?
*There is no planetary observation by which we on Earth can prove that the Earth is moving in an orbit around the sun* Physicist, I. Bernard Cohen
*Whether the Earth rotates once a day from west to east...or the heavens revolve once a day from east to west...the observable phenomena will be exactly the same. This shows a defect in Newtonian dynamics since an empirical science ought not to contain a metaphysical assumption, which can never be proved or disproved by observation*
      - Physicist, Dennis Sciama
*People need to be aware that there is a range of models that could explain the observations. For instance, I can construct you a universe with Earth at its center, and you cannot disprove it based on observations. You can only exclude it on philosophical grounds. What I want to bring into the open is the fact that we are using philosophical criteria in choosing our models. A lot of cosmology tries to hide that.* Physicist, George F.R. Ellis
*So, which is real, the Ptolemaic or Copernican system? Although it is not uncommon for people to say that Copernicus proved Ptolemy wrong, that is not true...one can use either picture as a model of the universe, for our observations of the heavens can be explained by assuming either the earth or the sun to be at rest* Physicist, Stephen Hawking
*The struggle, so violent in the early days of science, between the views of Ptolemy and Copernicus would then be quite meaningless. Either CS (Coordinate System) could be used with equal justification. The two sentences, the sun is at rest and the earth moves, or the sun moves and the earth is at rest, would simply mean two different conventions concerning two different CS*
      - Physicist, Albert Einstein
*Let it be understood at the outset that it makes no difference, from the point of view of describing planetary motion, whether we take the Earth or the Sun as the center of the solar system. Since the issue is one of relative motion only, there are infinitely many exactly equivalent descriptions referred to different centers - in principle any point will do, the Moon, Jupiter...So the passions loosed on the world by the publication of Copernicus' book, De revolutionibus orbium caelestium libri VI, were logically irrelevant*
      - Astronomer, Fred Hoyle
*we can take either the Earth or the Sun, or any other point for that matter, as the center of the solar system. This is certainly so for the purely kinematical problem of describing the planetary motions. It is also possible to take any point as the center even in dynamics, although recognition of this freedom of choice had to await the present century*
      - Astronomer, Fred Hoyle
*It is possible to describe the entire universe using any chosen point as the unmoving center - the Earth will do very well - and no one can prove that choice is wrong....Scientists today prefer to picture everything in motion and nothing as being the center. If you haven't given much thought to the implications of twentieth-century science, you may be chagrined...to realize that because of the concept of relative motion, no one can prove that the Earth moves*
      - Kitty Ferguson
*Thus we may return to Ptolemy's point of view of a 'motionless Earth' This would mean that we use a system of reference rigidly fixed to the Earth in which all stars are performing a rotational motion with the same angular velocity around the Earth's axis...one has to show that the transformed metric can be regarded as produced according to Einstein's field equations, by distant rotating masses. This has been done by Thirring. He calculated a field due to a rotating, hollow, thick-walled sphere and proved that inside the cavity it behaved as though there were centrifugal and other inertial forces usually attributed to absolute space. Thus, from Einstein's point of view, Ptolemy and Copernicus are equally right. What point of view is chosen is a matter of expediency*
      - Physicist, Max Born
"The ancient argument over whether the Earth rotates or the heavens revolve around it (as Aristotle taught) is seen to be no more than an argument over the simplest choice of a frame of reference. Obviously, the most convenient choice is the universe....Nothing except inconvenience prevents us from choosing the Earth as a fixed frame of reference....If we choose to make the Earth our fixed frame of reference, we do not even do violence to everyday speech. We say that the sun rises in the morning, sets in the evening; the Big Dipper revolves around the North Star. Which point of view is "correct"? Do the heavens revolve or does the Earth rotate. The question is meaningless."- Physicist, Martin Gardner
*the Earth-centered system...is in reality absolutely identical with the system of Copernicus and all computation of the places of the planets are the same for the two systems*
      - Astronomer, J. L. E. Dryer
"...it is very important to acknowledge that the Copernican theory offers a very exact calculation of the apparent movements of the planets...even though it must be conceded that, from the modern standpoint practically identical results could be obtained by means of a somewhat revised Ptolemaic system....It makes no sense, accordingly, to speak of a difference in truth between Copernicus and Ptolemy: both conceptions are equally permissible descriptions. What has been considered as the greatest discovery of occidental wisdom, as opposed to that of antiquity, is questioned as to its truth value."- Physicist, Hans Reichenbach
“Such a condition would imply that we occupy a unique position in the universe, analogous, in a sense, to the ancient conception of a central Earth…This hypothesis cannot be disproved, but it is unwelcome and would only be accepted as a last resort in order to save the phenomena. Therefore we disregard this possibility…. the unwelcome position of a favored location must be avoided at all costs…. such a favored position is intolerable…”
      Edwin Hubble
"In order for the Earth to be at rest in the center of the system of the sun, planets, and comets, there is required both universal gravity and another force in addition that acts on all bodies equally according to the quantity of matter in each of them and is equal and opposite to the accelerative gravity with which the Earth tends to the sun...And thus celestial bodies can move around the Earth at rest, as in the Tychonic system."- Physicist, Isaac Newton
*I have come to believe that the motion of the Earth cannot be detected by any optical experiment*
      - Physicist, Albert Einstein

Saving repentance is realizing that you are a sinner deserving of God's just punishment in Hell and turn (repent) from whatever you trusted in before, if indeed you trusted in anything; to trusting in the person and finished work of Christ alone for salvation.

Perhaps. But there are hundreds of some species. Why would it be such a sin to believe one day is as a thousand years like the Bible says? Not saying you said it’s a sin, but some people do say that and say people hate God because they disagree with your opinion. But at least you believe God thought it all out. All the young earth ears I have heard or read comments of all thing God thought up and created everything in seven days without thinking it all out before.

@@reflectionsinthebible3579 the ' day as a thousand years ' refers to God being outside of time. A day having as much stuff in it as a thousand years. Knowing all the details of millions and even billions of people all at the same time would relate to a thousand years worth of things , of happenings, of living occurring in the space of one day.
At the same time, the ' thousand years as one day ' refers to God being eternal and in the endless eternity of God the real
' time ' span of creation and the physical universe is but a drop in the bucket.
It is like yesterday when it is past.
The way we might look at one day out of last month is the way God can look at a thousand years.

It doesn't say any of it in detail, it just says things were created within a six day time span. You can do with it like you want.
Myself I like to take into account how the Creator God is eternal and outside of time. He lives in a timeless, matterless realm. Time and matter are His creation.
Even empty vacuum of space is a creation of His. Even empty space light- years away from us is a place where the elements can exist and light and gravity
Before He created anything material there was not even a single hydrogen atom nor even the place to put it or even the SCIENCE for it to exist.
You might ask where does it say this in the Bible, well it doesn't spell it out in detail but it does say that ' without Him there was nothing made that was made ' or similar.
I suppose the Creator could have both thought everything up and created it in real matter as well in an instant, but I like to think that in the timeless realm of eternity past He gave it all a considerable amount of thought.
Also the thoughts of trying to create beings that will fellowship and love Him with free wills to do so will require a lot of painfull possibilities.
Being ' all- knowing ' the Creator had to know how everything and everyone would turn out in advance, even knowing how the SON would have to sacrifice for everyone before a single thing was ever created.
It's hard to fathom the mind of God.

I'm a believer in Christ Jesus, No I do not believe in evolution (evil-ution); but I believe that the Earth is much older than 6-7 thousand years old, not because of science.
Genesis 1:1 says (in the beginning), it does not state when the beginning was. And from my understanding the original text does not read (in the beginning). Secondly where is the darkness and the flood upon the Earth in Genesis 1:2? Could this be the kingdom of darkness casting it's fallen shadow on the earth, (the beginning of the deep state). Why was the Earth in a flooded state?
2 Peter 3:5-6, this is not the flood in Noah's day of Genesis 7-9; also referenced by Peter in 1 Peter 3:20.
The scientist say that the universe is 13.7 billions years old don't know if it is or not and they probably don't know either. Either way we are here in TIME for a short time trust in the Lord Jesus He is our Only hope.
Additionally I believe that the Earth's fossil record speaks to generations of the earth.

To be fair though, there is the issue of not knowing whether the 6-day creation period is actually 24 hours each. especially if you pick other passages of the scriptures, 'a day' can be 'thousand years'. So you could even go and claim that the 6-day period actually were 6000 years, which would make the Earth 12.000 years old. But it's also 'interesting' that the entire creation process in Genesis is called 'the day god created etc etc'. Not day-S in plural, but DAY.
The thing here is that regardless whether evolution would be a false and incorrect teaching in atleast the case of the age of the Earth, let's be honest and also admit that there neither is undeniable proof the Earth is created in just 6 days.

The oldest copy of the Tanakh (Old Testament) known today is the greek translation, called Septuaginta. The Book of Genesis was written down around 350 B.C. This means that Septuaginta's Genesis predates the Masoretic Bible, which is read by most people today, by about 1350 years. The Septuaginta adds an additional 650 years to the age of the patriarchs from Shem to Serug when they have their first son. This means that the earth or the universe is about 6650 years old. In Jesus' day EVERYONE (including Flavius Josephus, all New Testament writers, etc.) followed the Septuagint or the origin Hebrew scriptures (which were unfortunately lost) at the time by which it was translated. Even the writings of Qumran have more in common with the Septuagint than with our contemporary Masoretic Bible.
