Love these Delos adventures. Brings back memories of my sailing experiences.
Thanks for years of amazing content, Delos!
Doing the reruns in 2022!! Still love them as much as I did 8 years ago!! Still have my original Delos crew tee.
Hey, Brian I have loved your travels and look forward to doing the same in a few years. But I have just notice in a couple of your videos that when you are up the mast in the bosun's chair that you are just on the halyard clip. As a professional sailor I would caution you, its best to always bowline your bosuns chair and just use the clip as a safety. If that clip was to catch on the ringing while up the mast it not a very good outcome.
cheers buddy and keep the good times roll'n
Your video production took a quantum leap here.
I began diving here in Utila, Honduras last fall and along the way found your videos. You guys are the truth, inspiring and awesome in one. Continued safe travels Delos, I'll be watching and being inspired even more.
Lamar Williamson Hey Lamar! That's awesome that you started diving! It's such and amazing sport, a totally different perspective on our planet. Thank you so much for your nice comments and watching :)Wishing you the best of luck in your diving adventures!Fair Winds,BrianS\V Delos

That water looks incredible and so full of life. Just superb. I did a few introduction dives a few years back in Vanuatu and have always wanted to get my ticket. We are planning on returning to Vanuatu early next year and I will be doing my ticket then. Bring on the underwater exploring!!!!
Oh yea Vanuatu is awesome! We passed through there in Delos in 2011 on our way to Australia! Amazing place, people, islands, water, it pretty much has it all :) Have fun getting your ticket and exploring life underwater. Too cool!
Fair Winds,
Brian

You guys, girls and lets not forget trusty delos make some dam awsome videos. Always wanted to live that kind of life a sail all over. I have no experience with sailboats but one can always learn Well it is now my goal. Keep making those great videos and as always be SAFE on you travels. Thanks for taking the time to make these and post them
nie wissen Ha Ha, you know I had no experience before either.... Only a bit time on the waters around Seattle but no blue water sailing so there is hope for everyone! Thank you very much for taking the time to watch and leaving a comment, we really appreciate it. Fair Winds and best wishes with your new goal :)BrianS\V Delos
That drop off at 4:00. Wow!
Yea, that was by far my favorite thing to do. In the water right under Delos, then just do a falling superman to about 130 feet. Absolutely EPIC! Thanks so much for watching :)
Brian SV Delos As a Hyperbaric Nurse I want to remind you to never scrimp on those safety stops on ascent!
Eric Barnett
Yea true! Normally on dives like this we'll go deep for a few minutes then spend our time slowly working our way back up the wall so the majority of the dive is ascending, with the last 10-15 minutes < 30 feet. Our computers are set pretty conservative as well. Hopefully we'll never need your services!
amazing nostalgic after you tour the world this video still stand out but why ur friends didn’t come in your trip in the philippines it’s a shame
Another great video gang! safe travels to your next stop.
Wow you guys came to philippines?I never knew you guys 6yrs ago but now i am really a fan of yours hope youll comeback here

xcessive2008 Yea, we met some amazing, amazing Philipinos and took them on as crew for a few weeks :) Too much fun!
Was about to say you guys are so lucky to be doing this, but I suppose it isn't luck just a lot of hard work to afford it and a lot of planning etc. Maybe in another life I can get into this lifestyle. Awesome!
dus toin Yes, you are very right there. Everyday I think of how lucky I am to have this amazing lifestyle, but I also try to reflect on all the things that had to happen to make it possible. Thanks so much for watching! BrianS/V Delos
Another great Video guys. Yew!
Such Clear Water !

Al. Y Oh thanks so much, really appreciate the comment! Fair Winds,BrianS\V Delos
Beautiful dive site....Where are Brady and Josje?
Surely they didn't miss out on this sweet dive?
Awesome!
Wow, amazing footage; what an explosion of life! Reminds me a little of diving off La Jolla but no where near that much life or variety. New crew?!! I feel almost naked for a moment without Brady and the Aussie Lasse! But the new crew seem to be beautiful people.
Fair Winds
Derek Richey Hey Derek- yea it is a truly remarkable place. So good to see after seeing some really destroyed places. It just shows that conservation efforts really do make a difference!Yea, Brady and Josje went back to work for a few months. If you're interested they just put up a blog post about it- svdelos.blogspot.com/2014/07/5-months-laterby-brady-and-josje.html Fair Winds and thanks for watching!BrianS\V Delos
Yeah I'll check it out and greet them back to land lubbing for awhile.
Watching again for the second time from the beginning, why does this video not have an episode number?
wow ..nice video
Exelent video Brian, and a lovely voice over, Karin!
Rob de Richemont Thanks so much Rob, really happy that you enjoyed it. Such an amazing place! Fair Winds, Brian S\V Delos
simply magical Tubattaha is
Incredible !
And is this supposed to be 46? I love going back to see your past adventures you dont gotta hide anything !!! I really wanna watch the episode with just you and Karin in the Phillipines losing track of time and night diving that is what made me really fall in love with yall!!!
time to start selling tee shirts from the Delos !
Hoping they return with the T's having just the large logo & SV Delos script either on the front or back
The video quality is spectacular. What kind of camera are you using to shoot that footage?
Hey Chris- The wide-angle fish eye shots were done with our new Go Pro Black with a red filter. It's actually doing pretty good stuff for such a small, inexpensive camera. The other shots were with our Canon G15 in a FantaSea housing. It really does some impressive underwater video! Thanks so much for watching :)
well-filmed
wow that was amazing, I'm an avid diver and would have loved to been there!!!
treywilly431 Yea Tubbataha was a seriously EPIC dive spot. Thanks so much for watching! Brian SV Delos
I am so in love with sea turtles my favorites
Wow, very beautiful underwater. Just know that the turtle eat that as food
Did you use your new drone for that shot of you at the top of your mast? By the way, can you provide a link for or at least a description of the drone/camera so that we can read more (and have something else to daydream about getting)?
Love your videos!
Hey Joseph- Thanks so much! So that shot was actually done with our new Go-Pro Black mounted on the end of a fishing pole. Sort of a super-selfie stick :) The drone we're using is a Phantom Vision 2+ .
"Shit smells dee-lish-CIOUS!"
That's awesome, I so want to get my dive certificate now.
Hay Adam you should, it's one of the most amazing things you can do with your time and most of the planet is water anyway! Cheers, and thanks for watching!
Diving is a dangerous sport, which is an intangible that intensifies the thrill. Cert, all for it, the knowledge is what you want. Understanding physiology and recognizing medical symptoms such as the bends or even natural poison exposure, can be diff L/D.
Take body core temp drop, I've exp that FREE DIVING. Learn to equalize your eustachain tubes, and exp the mammalian dive reflex. Nothing like it in the world, you don't even fell like breathing. Shallow water blackout is a real threat to good freedivers, don't dive alone.
Finding vids of classes shouldn't be hard, this is the information age after all.
How often do you "need to" go to the mast head, e.g. maintenance, repair etc; or do you do it for the thrill? Its something I think would take me quite a while to get used to - if ever!
OldePete I usually try to go up every few months or before every major passage just to inspect the rigging, strands, blocks, halyards, etc. But, sometimes I go up just for the pure joy of it. The view is AMAZING and it's a lot of fun. I used to work for the phone company as a lineman so climbing up things like this was kind of my job for a few years :) Thanks for watching!BrianS\V Delos
livin' like we were all meant to......
Great job. How do you pick crew members?
Oh and can you pass my sympathy to karin. Sorry to hear about her grandmother. R.I.P
If you are ever on the east coast of canada be it new brunswick, pei, or nova scotia and u need a means of travel on land dont hesitate to ask. Id be more than happy to help you folks out anyway I can. Looking forward to more new videos. : )
nie wissen Hey Nie- Thanks so much for your kind words, and for the offered hospitality as well. We love that! If we make it up there would be very, very cool. We're working on a few more videos as we speak so hope to upload them soon!Fair Winds,BrianS\V Delos
Nice coral
I am shopping for a boat, this convinced me
Another Awesome video guys! Been following along for a while. One day....... One day...... question : Will you all be stopping by the Sentinel islands for a Delos meets the Sentinelese people? ;)
JuneBugJoe Sweet man, thanks so much! So we will be going by the Andaman Islands after leaving Thailand on our way across the Indian Ocean. I know there are some places where cruising boats aren't allowed to go but can't remember if it's the North or South group. Anyway, if you know anybody there that could help us out lemme know!Fair Winds and thanks for watching!BrianS\V Delos
Hello Brian! Thanks for sharing such great video of the reef! I'm putting SV Triton on the hard this winter and doing a bottom job in the spring. This winter I'm flying back to Pennsylvania to be with family and when I return to Washington, I begin SV Triton's refit. I'm going with wind, hydro and solar power generation and electric drive. Still unsure if I'm going to just overhaul the diesel or remove it in favor of getting more storage space for battery banks. I'm doing some research and picking brains of other sailors out there. Any thoughts?
Brian
Skipper of
SV Triton
Brian Hess Hey Brian- Very interesting thoughts! The only boat I've met with an electric (hybrid) drive was Steve on Dignity. It was a Lagoon 4200 and I believe he ended up converting back to straight diesel for some reason, not really sure. His blog was aboarddignity.com . Perhaps you may have already researched the Lagoon's theat were hybrids. in any case may be some interesting research if you haven't already read about them. Thanks so much for watching and best of luck on your refit!Fair Winds,BrianS\V Delos
I checked out their site and sadly learned that Stephen has passed away last summer. The blog is quite extensive, it will take some time to pour through the data, but it is nice to read about their journey through life.
I really enjoy keeping up with your videos! I'm just curious, how far behind are the videos? Was this footage from a week/month/year etc ago?
Keep it up, I hope to do this one day myself!
Hey Justin- This footage is actually about a month old. We wanted to do some recent stuff to try out some new cameras and gear we got, just to make sure all was going to work well. Pretty soon we'll be finishing up the Indonesia videos then beginning on the Philippines which is going to be really sweet :) So excited to start working on this. Thanks for watching!
@Jusin, go to their blog site, and or facebook. Blog site is better, they post awesome photos.
*****
Thanks for that Ted. Plus the blog and facebook.com/svdelos are up to date.
nice...catch and release ? lol just joking..kodo's to the crew..!!!!
Love the Aussie.......we all do :)
Gaahhhh! I so want to go with you guys! Say: "Trevlig resa i paradiset" to Karin from me.
How exactly is it you guys have decent (all the vids are HD) internet connectivity everywhere you go?
de0xyrib0se We actually don't...... Which is one of the reasons the videos are a bit behind. We wait until we get into port, then buy a local SIM card. Sometimes it takes 3 days to upload a video but eventually it works :) Thanks so much for watching! Brian S\V Delos
You guys are so amazing. How do you choose who gets to be part of your crew?:)
Luigi Ram Hey Luigi! So far it's just been friends we meet along the way in our travels! But we're working on something to get more people out on Delos. If you haven't already be sure to like facebook.com/svdelos . We'll be posting any crew opportunities up there first. Thanks so much for watching!Fair Winds,BrianS\V Delos
Bring back Brady!
Ha I'll tell him he's in demand and to get his butt back here ASAP!
Waiting for the shark
Did Brady and josie go to work somewhere for the other half of the "season"?
Yea, they're out making some cash still. They wrote a pretty sweet little blog- check out svdelos.blogspot.com/2014/07/5-months-laterby-brady-and-josje.html if you're interested in what they're up to.
cheers, i haven't looked at your site in awhile :)
Josies house looks like it is in the hills of sumner. Good surfing.
No night dives?? Don't tell me you guys didn't do any night dives.
Does Karin have a different accent than Australian. Seems like there is something else in there. Belgium or French or something.
Philip Klinck Karin is in fact Swedish :) But she spent a few years in Australia, a year in London, and hangs out with unruly American's so that may explain something..... Thanks for watching!
How does one get the dingy on and off the boat?
30calRover So we have a lifting harness attached at 4 points that we made. We then
use a utility halyard from the top of the main mast and just hoist it
straight up and onto the cradle on the foredeck, using one of the
winches on the main mast. We hoist it up with the engine, fuel tank,
etc. It's a quick job and great exercise! Fair Winds,BrianS\V Delos
I thought you guys were in India.
Not yet, working our way West though :)
What happened to your brother, Yoshi and Nina?
S\V Eros They all went back to work! This video is a little out of the normal sequence because we wanted to try some of the footage from a new camera we bought. They'll all be back in the next video we put together. If you're interested they just wrote this blog post about what's been going on: svdelos.blogspot.com/2014/07/5-months-laterby-brady-and-josje.htmlThanks for watching!BrianS\V Delos
Are you ever worried about shark attacks?
Does anybody know what song is the intro song
jose adam Yea, so that's some awesome guys in Melbourne. It's Whitewash by Halycon drive. Check this out: @halcyondrive . Thanks so much for watching! Brian S/V Delos
How much did Delos cost
MYTHIC901 She costs a fair bit, about as much as a decent house would! You may find this interesting: www.yachtworld.com/boats/category/type/Amel/Super+Maramu+2000
Now I want one damn
Hmm would you give it to me when your done with it
I hate to sound shallow and superficial, BUT where is NINA? LOL
Bonniemish Hey! So this video is a little more recent footage. We're a little behind and this footage was taken after Nina already left. No worries though- we have a few more with her so stay tuned :)Thanks for watching!
ok you picked up a new crew why? what happened to the beautiful blondes?
Sulu Sea is infested by cold blooded "abu sayyaf" kidnappers.. Careful while navigating in that area.
That intro song was terrible. Sorry just my opinion. Loved the video tho
Where are the other 3 usual suspects?
Yea, this one is a little out of sequence with the normal videos.... Everyone's back at work putting some money in savings! Check out svdelos.blogspot.com/2014/07/5-months-laterby-brady-and-josje.html if you're interested in what they've been up to. Thanks for watching!
I didn't ask for a New Crew. Who asked for a new Crew? What Happened? no Good Bye no why ya leaving? Did you run them off? Was there a fight? What happened to the people you had? This sucks
