The film is called Julius Caesar, it's from 2003. You can watch it here on RUclips for free. It's almost 3 hours long, just type in Julius Caesar film, it should be at the top of the search.
There is more to mention. When we look at history, we dont look at the fact of who won and lost and call it a day. We look at the motivations of the people involved and who they were as people. Caesar was a tyrant and Vercingetorix was a man who wanted to stop his people from getting genocided
@@oneweed3048 If you would read Caesar´s Gallic War you would understand, that there wasn´t only Rome who started a war. The main target was to become save boarders and to protect Romans even as the Massilian City State. The Gauls also did massacres to Romans before and loot roman cities. So all in all it was a massacre to the gauls but there were serious reasons for the why. And even with the fact, that Caesar had some defeats to take, he never lost his minds or nervs, which was a big problem e.g. for Vercingetorix or Pompey Magnus. Caesar was able to del with critical situations and he had the ability to force his enemys to act almost like he wanted them to act. So I would think that he easily win a battle against the Zulu, because they were very similar to the Gauls in the way of war. Sorry for mistakes... English isn´t my mother tongue. I wish all people very nice Christmas Days, Free days, Holidays or whatever and a Happy New Year.
Did he really surrender like this? The pictures clearly shown him on his horse dropping his weapon from it. I would be really disappointet if he go out like this without honour.
This was how it ended for him according to Caesar. He surrendered in this manner so Caesar would spare his men. A sad end for a great leader of men, I feel he acted with honour until the end. One of History's greats.
Hi there, french guy here. The depictions of Vercingetorix you're referring to mainly come from paintings of the 18/19th century. It was the fashion of the time to depict ancient history of France in a romantic way, to inspire patriotism. We french people have a strange fetichism around heroic losers. Vercingétorix, Jeanne D'Arc... We love them despite the fact that they failed. It's like we loved them for being true to their heart and dying for their convictions. So, yeah... in reality, the surrender and death of Vercingétorix was kinda sad and pathetic. Humilated, paraded in public at Rome and executed like an animal. That is the true end of Vercingétorix. And with his death, a third of the gauls were slaughtered and another third inslaved.
Hey, Im not even aigainst him losing or gettting overpowered and slaughtered by his enemy its a normal thing even surrendering is not always a shame. But to kneel freely to your enemies even out of fear for his people is honourless i would rather see my people tortured. But i understamd why you feel that way.
@@alihanaui8667 We obviously don't know what precise behavior Vercingétorix had during this famous scene. Was he enraged and kneel slowly, did he said something? We don't know. But at this point, be shameful and behaving like a traumatize victim in front of his ennemy would be more than comprehensible. It's easy to say what we would have done in that kind of situation, but most people would mentaly broken, a shell of themselves. Plus, it was a custom. You could argue that it would have been shameful for him to display arrogance and bravado in that moment.

Vercingétorix était un chef de tribus, pas le chef d'une nation moderne. Il ne peut donc pas vraiment être un patriote, il ne savait même pas ce qu'est une nation moderne.
Where can I download this music?

What movie is this from
The film is called Julius Caesar, it's from 2003. You can watch it here on RUclips for free. It's almost 3 hours long, just type in Julius Caesar film, it should be at the top of the search.
He was held for 6 years in prison before he was killed
Caesar was the winner - nothing more to mention!
There is more to mention. When we look at history, we dont look at the fact of who won and lost and call it a day. We look at the motivations of the people involved and who they were as people. Caesar was a tyrant and Vercingetorix was a man who wanted to stop his people from getting genocided

If you would read Caesar´s Gallic War you would understand, that there wasn´t only Rome who started a war.

Asterix
Did I see right ? The celtic and the romans got stirrups ???
Здравствуйте, Alesia, Alesia..
Hey,
Im not even aigainst him losing or gettting overpowered and slaughtered by his enemy its a normal thing even surrendering is not always a shame.
You could argue that it would have been shameful for him to display arrogance and bravado in that moment.
who is Archie
They didn't have stirrups back then......

This film is so bad, so ridiculous and caricatured, so full of historical errors that it becomes comical. It’s Asterix and Obelix!
